    At the beginning of the video, from 0:00 to 0:41, The Band of The Royal Life Guards can be heard performing the famous British march 'Blue Devils' composed by Charles Williams.
    From 3:15 to 7:17, the Band performs the Danish march 'Kong Gustaf VI Adolf's Honnørmarch' composed by Kai Verner Nielsen. The closest English translation of the march title would be the 'King Gustaf VI Adolf's Salute March'.
    The march was dedicated to HM King Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden whose reign was from 1950 to 1973. He was the grandfather and immediate predecessor of HM King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, the current reigning King of Sweden. Incidentally, King Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden was also the grandfather of HM Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, the current reigning Queen of Denmark.
    The Band performs the 17th century Danish 'Fanemarch' from 8:48 to 9:14. Unfortunately, the identity of the composer is unknown.
    From 10:08 to 10:42, the Band play the Danish 'Amalienborg March' composed by Richard Lindebro. They play the 'Dronning Margrethe den II's Parademarch' composed by Arne Ole Stein from 11:50 to 12:19.
    Following the Band's performance of 'Blue Devils', the Corps of Drums of The Royal Life Guards can be heard performing the march 'Les Volontaires' composed by the French composer Olivier Métra between 1:25 and 2:20 while they then perform the Danish patriotic song 'Den Tapre Landsoldat' from 2:21 to 3:14.

      They are dressed in red on special occasions ( Galla dress ). That is probably why, you have mostly seen them in red!? On their regular day to day duties, they are dressed as you can see in this video.

    That is one alert police woman - constantly scanning the crowd and shifting position from time to time and not at all distracted by the pageantry going on behind her. Good job lieutenant (two diamonds is lieutenant, right?)!

A few days ago ( March 15th 2024 ) Obama was here in Danmark. And he still had special security protection this many years after he retired.( paid for by YOU!! ).

      well during world war 2, the actually fired on German invaders! I think a few were killed before orders to surrender were given. Seemingly toy soldiers against the Wehrmacht's automatic weapons! The weren't bored then.

      A few differences that you may be unaware off. Danes, rifles locked and loaded, more ammo in the leather bag on right hip. Brits. Unloaded rifles, i.e. clubs. The drill is entirely functional, arrive in column of march, transition to company front, advance to receive colors. Nothing is done for show. And the regiment is 2 years older than the Grenadier Guards and began wearing bearskins 10 years earlier.

      Danish Royal Life Guards founded 1658.
      British Grenadier Guards lineage goes back to 1654.
      British Coldstream Guards formed 1650.

    • @janandersen8735
      @janandersen8735 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Wotsitorlabart Except not as Royal regiments, and since the Grenadier Guards rank ahead of the Coldstreams because of the Royal designation, I am just being consistent. Minor trivia, the Danes have worn the bearskin since 1805, the Brits only since Waterloo 1815.
