River Wye Barbel - Summer/Autumn

Searching for Welsh Gold is a film that will transport you to the beautiful banks of the majestic river Wye, as you witness the alluring scenery, wildlife and fauna. Having decided to fish on unfamiliar stretches of the River Wye in my search for welsh Barbel it set quite a challenge that resulted in several magnificent Barbel being landed. Filmed over 3 months it shows the heart of the countryside in which all anglers are enveloped during their pursuit of fish. Mink, buzzards, jays and of course some stunning barbel all feature in this enjoyable informative video.

darren i have a 30' korum barbel spoon net what handle would you go for without breaking the bank (for wye &severn) cheers

Hi Alan. Ive also got the korum net and to be honest I use a standard fibreglass handle by redwolf, think it only cost me a tenner, I've had it years, it's a one piece 6ft. As long as it feels strong no need to buy anything too fancy for the rivers as they get bashed about 👍

Cheers,walked down to Monmouth from rope bridge,every stretch looks fishy,no other river like it for quantity of barbel,fish trent at collingham and its dull n feautureless,but barbel are animals,cant beat wye tho,cheers again.jp

john pringle No problem John. it is very picturesque you won't go far wrong around monmouth for numbers. I've never fished the Trent but there are some big ol girls in there.

Hi Chris, thanks for the comment im glad you enjoyed the video. Unfortunately back then the music I had legal access to was very limited however that is different now, the music isnt always to everyones taste but hopefully it makes for a more enjoyable viewing experience. Tight Lines
