Just following the heritage of Chick Corea/Miles Davis/Herbie Hancock alone - my goodness . We're really standing on the shoulders of such talent .
I was raised in the Big Band community (Stan Kenton/Buddy Rich/Maynard Ferguson/Woody Herman/Count Basie/Duke Ellington etc.) , that served to sharpen the appreciation for virtuosity grounded in passion and joy in one's craft .
Peter Erskine (drummer) - & certainly Buddy Rich - were massive influences in subsequently becoming a drummer , that then led to Classical vocals , ironically .
I see so many young folk - like yourself & Marcus Gilmore , Snarky Puppy , Ghost Note , the Latin/Salsa/Samba network (etc.) - and I see the continuation of the intersection of brilliance with unfeigned passion .
My boundless appreciation to you & all these living legacies of those that put the shovel in the ground .

Fantastic trio, amazing. I’m studying this piece on piano. Can you talk about the time signature? I see your feet going in 4/4 but Chick is counting in 3. Also I still try to figure out the last 4 bars, what happens there rhythmically
