You know there's a few things you grow to expect on any kind of Japanese Dragon Ball videos anymore... "WAAAH GOKU SOUNDS LIKE A GIRL!!!!" "WAAAAAH I WANT MY FALCONER BACK, DBZ SUCKS WITHOUT FALCONER" "DRAGON BALL, WHAT THE HELL IS DRAGON BALL, THERE IS ONLY DBZ?" This baffles me on a number of different levels, because the majority of other anime communities are not like this. This is pure nostalgia clouded nonsense and ignorance that sometimes borders on racism with some of these people. I originally grew up with the Toonami dub, and I loved it, but that was when I was a kid and I can see now the Japanese version and Kai are much more adult, well written and for the most part well acted shows. Japanese Dragon Ball has actually helped me with the learning the language alongside my classes and getting to see all the subtleties and different dialects and ways characters speak has helped me understand the language and appreciate the show more. What I find so strange though is that unlike many other anime, whom it's understood to be a Japanese show dubbed in English...these people treat DBZ like it's an American show made in Texas. It's really kind of shitty with what some of these companies like 4kids and Saban tried to do with anime in early 90s by trying to pass them off as their own products and trying to hide and remove references to Japanese culture, which could of used as a gateway to teach kids some things about another culture. About Goku's voice...It took awhile to for me to adjust to it at first until I watched the original Dragon Ball but sorry to say, it's the voice that fits the character Toriyama wrote the best. Toriyama hand selected Nozawa and the accent country bumpkin high pitched slang Japanese accent that she uses for him is EXACTLY what Toriyama was envisioning Goku's voice to be when he created the character. For all this shit you people throw her way, Sean Schemmel would think you were morons. Sean Schemmel himself greatly respects her himself and his words..."She is Goku". Women voicing Shonen leads isn't something new, most anime have this tread in Japanese, and some over here such Naruto also voiced by a woman in English as well through the whole series. Here's the thing, the original Z dub was rushed corny censored mess put together by amateurs. Sabat himself will tell you that point blank...Kai is the dub the Funiamation cast is proud because it's done like an ACTUAL dub. Staying true to the source material and faithfully adapting it like almost every other dub nowadays because most people are cultured enough to want their English dub of the Japanese show to keep the culture of the land it comes from and don't need it *dumbed down* for them to understand. Here's the sad truth...most other countries such as Latin America, France, Spain, Germany and such...they had legitimate dubs already with the original music and story completely intact. Do you know why America didn't receive the same treatment by the higher ups at Saban and Funimation at the time... *BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT AMERICAN KIDS WERE A BUNCH LOUD MORONS WHO CAN'T APPRECIATE FOREIGN THING AND COULDN'T HOLD AN ATTENTION SPAN FOR A 30 MINUTE EPISODE WITHOUT TECHNO MUSIC BLARING IN EVERY SCENE.* The Falconer score wasn't in there because they thought it was better, it was in there because it was cheaper and they thought we were particularly dumb kids compared to the rest of the world, that's the truth. That's why there's music in every single scene, they didn't think American kids could even handle a second silence before losing attention. That's bad! But apparently they were right for the most part. I don't blame Falconer or his team(the often uncredited people such as Scott McNeil and Julius Dobos), they do good work for what they do and I think the Vegeta Super Sayian theme and the SSJ3 Theme are amazing, but the for the most part they don't fit Dragon Ball. Japanese Dragon Ball has a full orchestral score performed by real instruments with a full real orchestra while Falconer had a piano and college kids with sound mixers. It's a big difference, it's like comparing Mozart to Skrillix, both are good at what they did but one is more understood to be legitimately good.

Goku knows what kissing is. He’s just never done it, nor has he ever thought about it, so he forgot. It was never knowledge he never knew. If it was, he wouldn’t have said no.

+Himanshu Bilonia i get it, the Z dub was only like 50%-60% accurate and since it was the first dub all the voice cast was clearly inexperienced at first but improved as the show went on, not to mention they had no way of using the kinda underwhelming(my opinion) Japanese ost and had to use a American score, I never grew up with the anime though I grew up with the budokai and tenkaichi series and the improved dub and Godly yamamoto score(and whoever did tenkaichi 2 and 3 but yamamoto was most memorable) later I herd about kai coming out and saw it as my chance, I watched it at first hated it but then it grew on me(kai gohan though cannot take seriously and I fucking hate the voice actress and her male roles she's fucking awful with them)to me it was the same except for gohan because I experienced the dub improving over time with the games, at one point I got tired of waiting for kai to finish and found DBZ online with the dub score and I really enjoyed myself watching it for the first time and the times after, I could tell that most of the lines were cheesy but there was just something about it that I really liked about it, I can enjoy dbz/db kai dub or sub I know what the better dub it but I'll always enjoy dragon ball even for its flaws also I think dragon ball is better than Z/ kai no matter what sorry this is really long put it hope that you can some what see it through my eyes and if not oh well XD
