    I’ve been researching these guys because I fell in love at a show and am really looking forward to owning some.

    They’re no Helmeted Iguanas, but they are cool! Love how they hiss and defend themselves.

    I actually really like exoterra stone desert substrate. Allows you to make tunnel hides and just looks great as a loose substrate as well. I had them on play sand with a little peat but the stone desert substrate just looks so much more naturalistic. Great video! Would love to see more videos on helmeted geckos in the future. Cheers 🍻

    I was able to get a pair of these back in June of 2020. They are amazingly active for such little animals, I see at least one of them out every night when I mist them down. Had a pair of babies that hatched out for New Years but unfortunately I lost them about a month or so latter. Hoping to get more but I have been leaving the eggs in the enclosure so have not seen babies since.

    • @SupremeGecko
      @SupremeGecko  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you know why the babies passed? Thanks for watching and for your comment.

    • @glencannon1139
      @glencannon1139 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SupremeGecko It was my fault, I was replacing multiple shelves with a large unit that would accommodate more tanks and didn’t have them setup proper for the night. Placed their tub near a ceramic heat emitter for another animal to give them heat. It completely dried out their tub overnight. I will kick myself for that mistake for quite a long time.

      Thank Liz. And thank you for the comment. I had an issue with a new "expensive" mic :) A lot of buzz. Sounded great before the edit! By the time I corrected, then increased the volume as much as possible, this was the result. Need to fix asap! Thank again.

    Cool, I am lucky to find this video. Very soon, I want to order my first 'dry climate' gecko and T. chazaliae are on the top of my list. Nice to get some info about them. One question if it is not a problem. Did you, or any breeder that you know, fully replaced UVB with correct supplementation (calcium+D3)? I don't exactly trust UVB because I had bad experience with it. And I didn't use it for a long time since all my geckos are from New Caledonia.

    • @SupremeGecko
      @SupremeGecko  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Never an issue asking questions! All the breeders I know are using UVB. Please check out VivTech's UVB bulbs. I did a video on their product about 5 months ago. Good luck with the helmeted and keep me posted.
