We've owned two dyson hand held v8 animal etc and dyson corded. Handhelds weve always had to replace the battery,the sony copies on ebay are better than the originals.the plastics disintegrate especially on the heads and they collecr dirt and mark our wooden floorboards.also have to keep trigger pulled to vacuum which can be annoying especially when the trigger plastic breaks and it turns sharp.ordered a bissell turbo pet lets see how that goes.
You saved me a lot of money. I was wondering of the Dyson was worth the price difference. I have a Dyson hairdryer and it is mediocre tbh, which is why I am hesitatant but all reviews seem to say Dysons cordless vacuum is the best
I love my Dyson. However, I feel it has a giant design flaw. I have the Dyson V11 animal. We have 3 cats, so of course, we have litter. This means fine dust particles. One would think that a vacuum at the price point of the V11 Animal, and the fact it is a vacuum advertised for animals, it would be able to handle such particles. It, however, is not. Inside the bin is a silver tube covering who knows what. This silver tube is said to be like another filter. Indeed, it is metal with a ton of tiny holes all around it, like a mesh. This silver plate is not removable. Fine particles get inside and clog the vacuum. The only way to fix it is to brush out the metal plate, then bang the vacuum on the counter. A bunch of fine dust will fall out. But wait, there's more! Yes you aren't done yet, because it is not unclogged. Repeat this many more times until no more dust particles fall out. Took me about 30 minutes to do so. But wait! There's more! The latest I cleaned the vacuum, it worked for.......... any guesses? If we guessed half my house, you would be correct! Yes, my vacuum got clogged once more half way through cleaning. Same problem, and looking at the metal mesh, I can see it is clogged once more. Which, is why I'm here today lol.
We have owned a Bissell for about three years. It appears that the battery is now failing and to replace it we have to purchase the entire handle assemble for $164.00. That said, the Bissell has LED lighting which is great, however I am not sure if any of the Dyson models have that option. With a new battery, the charge lasts approx. 20-25 minutes. on a full charge.

Hog wash review. Bissels battery is far superior to Dyson's and much more affordable. Why we went with Bissel after owning two Dyson's
