I think you nailed the reasons why only 5% of a health population remains at around 9 and 13min... The breading size is 95cm in males and 105cm in females, but the legal size to keep kob is 40-60cm, meaning teenagers are removed before breeding, which is probably better that removing big breeding size kob. Would something like 40-80cm limit not be better to protect the species and let it recover... Maybe time for fisheries to relook the legal size and limit...🙄

Why keep a kob? Eat a black tail or hake. Let these fish repopulate or your kids will never catch them
