Taking the wing off a plane 2700m away by snap shooting at it with 85mm AP was a true Malzi moment.

I think the T-44 and T-44-100 are my most favorite tanks in the game, super well rounded proto-MBTs.
The T-44-100 is just the perfect all-rounder MBT for 7.0, only issue being the turret weakspot. The standard T-44 only lacks firepower with the 85mm being a horrible gun for 6.7
Not much on the Russian tree is actually suffering, gotta find yourself on the Italian tree for true suffering
@@thatguynamedpaul9990the 85 is good as a flanker, but it can't pen the front of a Tiger II H at all, even the turret. The gun is useful for different things than the chassis, which is wierd. 100 is just better in every way.

It's admittedly been a long time since I used it (as in I don't even think France had been added at the time) but my ancient memories of using the T-44 are nothing but good.
It was very much a solid all-rounder that only ever felt let down by its gun refusing to settle quickly.
The overall experience must have changed dramatically for this thing to qualify as 'suffering'.
The armor is good, but the Canon is the same as the t34-85 at 5.7, but you are facing USA and Germany heavy tanks at your br, and on uptiers, which you get most of the time, your armor is useless because of heat shells and all you have is mediocre cannon and medium+ mobility
well now it's not that good since it often gets uptiered to 7.3,7.7 and at that br it's not good. but in a downtier it's really good
@@user-fe7bo5mm1o t-44 is my most loved tank for its speed (flanking-outmaneuvering) and good enough firepower, but I have to reckon than recently (i didn't play in a year) the game match was way more difficult.

Man I remember playing this thing way back when. It just slapped at 6.3, especially since then you would regularly fight tiger 1s and panther Ds, none of this modern bs. Good times.

When I knew somebody was using HESH, I turned the T-44-100's side skirts towards them. Survived several shots.

6.7 is just suffering in general, beside that, the T-44 is a good tank, good mobility, very nice armour, it just lacks the firepower needed. The T-44-100 is perfection at 7.0 bcs you have everything to do your job.
I honestly think the T-44 can be 6.3 at some point in the future, just because it's ignored and people go directly to the 100 version.

The T-44 was already 6.3 around 2 years ago. It´s beyond me why it was put to 6.7. This BR is an uptier nightmare and you only face APDS and HEAT which kills als the fun the T-44 can make.
T-44 Allways was one of the best tank at the 4.7-6.7 br range.

That is my favorite tank. It have speed, stalinium, armor, and damage. Of course sometimes you need a pen, but you have a speed :)

Is the T-44 to high of BR? I know if has an amazing hull armor profile for conventional rounds…. But that’s on the upper plate… and that’s all. What else about it makes it deserve to be at 6.7?

Same problem with IS series. US and Germany heaves have better pen and reload (2 or 3 times faster) at lower BR when is-4 (who have gun and reload from 6.0)

I haven’t seen the turret jerry cans in so long. I remember when they were 30mm of steel back when they were introduced. Made some cool field mods for several tanks

@@alexmorris1071 it made the jumbo so broken. Honestly tho I really enjoyed the mechanic. Honestly I’m down for it, field mods were/are a huge thing for tank crews. And all of it is marginal at best for added protection.

Good news about the T-44 are that it has good mobility and armor, and if you know how to aim with the 85, then you are good to go. Bad news, you're most likely to be matched against the US, which is the power house of armor for that br.

Using BR-367 over BR-365A is a classic mistake players make in late 85mm tanks. The 365A has vastly more filler (it has a truly absurd amount, it's a one shot if it pens >90% of the time) and it has the famous soviet late-war normalization.
The slightly better flat penetration and slightly higher MV of 367 aren't worth it. Don't bother with the APCR either, as the damage is a joke and it still won't go through many things frontally as it is awful against anything sloped or curved and there's not much armor at this BR that is both in its penetration range *and* totally flat.

I enjoyed the AMX-30's a lot more than I expected I would. Lacking a stabilizer sucks, but they're fairly agile and the coaxial 20mm was hilariously good value.
I probably knocked out as many planes with them as I did tanks.
@@PhantomTangeant at 7.7, you meet a lot of tanks that the 20mm can take out easily, the lack of stab is fine in a downtier because no one else has one also, and then the rangefinder is great for longer maps
