Good news, Matti! Your new Mac Studio is *actually 81% faster* than your MacBook Pro Max. 38s is 55% of 69s, meaning the Studio exports in 55% of the time of the Pro Max. So that means that the Studio is actually 1/.55=1.81, or 81% "faster" than the Pro Max. So... even more better faster insanity! Love the intro, by the way... 👊🏻
Yea but what about Premiere. After Effects. Anything not affiliated with Apple? Are the beta versions of adobe products finally up to date? is apple metal compatible with the adobe creative suite yet?
Great to see the monitor playing the video featuring the faces of Malaysia. Being a Malaysian, I can’t say I’m not proud to see it here :) is that the 18 stream of 8k footage that comes with your Mac studio as mentioned in your video?
It blows my mind why these reviews spend so much time on export times. I export my videos (at most) 1x/day. It could take 10 hours for all I care, and I'd just do it while I sleep. What matters is how well it plays back codecs from common cameras. For example, all I care about is how smoothly it'll play multiple streams of 10-bit H.265 4K footage from my a7siii. DO WE NEED TO MAKE PROXIES OR NOT MATTI. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here!!!!!
Like I said you don’t 😊 you don’t even need them on the M1 max. And tell me you don’t care about export times when you are working for an important client and they want changes ;)
Export times and playback h/264/h.265 files were satisfactory on the M1. What many of us want is a machine that can handle multi-cam RAW video with LUTs and other FX with immediate playback.
@@marcopervo That! I need to know how fast it renders the timeline when applying a grade, stabilsation, etc. THIS is what drags down the pace in editing for me. Make change see the result, as fast as possible, to repeat that cycle as fast as possible.

Couldn’t edit without creating proxies until M1 came out. Well that’s because your using apple. PCs were able to edit that kind of footage because you could get much higher specs much cheaper. The M1 is pretty good though and this saved apple in terms of video editing.
saved apple in terms of video editing? pfff.. yea of course it's a great move, but I wouldn't put the situation in those words, because apple was still leading. If you test apple computer with any other pc, both with the same specs, you'll see much better performance on apple
@@kihsmiri key word both with the same specs, from my understanding to even get the same specs you were paying 2-3x the price, sure maybe you can get better performance with the same specs (maybe) but if your spending all that money why not just increase the specs on the pc with the same money. The M1 made it affordable
I may get the display for my M1 Mac mini. I agree with you about the iMac. I like that they separated the monitor from the iMac. No need to replace your monitor when you want to upgrade your computer. Now they need a monitor only version so we can have three monitors without having three cameras and three sets of speakers.
Bought one the moment it was up on the store, base M1 ultra model. I'm upgrading from a 2013 Mac Pro so it'll be a huge upgrade. Geekbench shows my iPhone 13 pro max beating my 6 core xenon mac pro, time to upgrade. With that kind of power I'd love to see a hybrid phone computing device where it shows you IOS when handheld and switches to an OS X view when in a dock with a keyboard and mouse. That is a holy grail of devices we've been promised for some time.

@@mattih Oh, clearly it’s still going to be fast in two years, but imagine exporting that 10 minute video in 1 minute, or 30 seconds, instead of 5 minutes … or maybe just save the project and the final export is just … done.

As a content creator and graphic designer, I need something that has some horsepower. My iMac Pro at work is a monster, but since I have a TH-cam channel now, I would prefer something that can SCARE my iMac Pro when it comes to video editing. I despise waiting for the little beach ball! This happens on ALL of the Intel Macs I use. So, I think the Mac Studio will be the KING of the Monsters (insert Godzilla ROAR) and my iMac Pro will bow down and cower. Can't wait to buy it.

Sad thing about the export times is that it only scales without some of the effects like denoise and sharpening. If you apply these effects final cut at least on M1 seems not be able to do things properly in parallel.

I honestly hate the design and don’t want that chunky thing layin on my desk but the power it offers is nothing short of amazing 🤩 I wish they would have made the new display thicker and called it iMac Pro
You are one of the few who can consider the display a good one for the price, given how much it lacks in terms of quality, this is an old panel, no hdr, no pro-motion, etc. How can it shine or even be comparable with its big brother (you said that you can barely notice the difference) I’m missing something here, otherwise I cannot understand the discrepancy with most of the other reviews out there. I think you are confusing the USB-C and Thunderbolt ports a bit. On the Studio Max it has four Thunderbolt ports on the back and two USB-C ports on the front whereas on the Studio Ultra they are all Thunderbolt ports. So to call it a "USB-C Thunderbolt Port" can be misleading.
