    In both these videos they talk about the responsibility to the fans to get it right. Blurry scanned artwork on Powerslave and Piece of Mind and a box that won't house all 8 releases!

    • @rabarebra
      @rabarebra 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I can't understand how much they missed on this matter. It really looks blurry and scanned compared to the 80's pressings. Horribly and ridiculously done. What were they thinking?
      Regarding the box-set that was too small; they'd forgot that Piece of Mind were a gatefold cover, and I might think they'd forgot about Live after Death as a double LP gatefold as well - that was the only missing space to house the vinyls that didn't fit. LOL

    I'm an Analogue lover...
    The delightful sound we like it's called distortion. Masters for vinyls and cds are usually different, according to format and players limitations. It's more complicated than it seems. But, at the end of the day...we love what we listen or not!

    • @rabarebra

      Not true, they're mastered differently for vinyl purpose, otherwise your needle would jump like crazy. Bottom-end has to be carefully mastered separately for vinyl than how they do it for CD, streaming, and hi-res.
      They did capture the original masters for the same project, though; vinyl, CD, mp3, and hi-res digital download.
      Get your facts straight, man. Hope Iron Maiden themselves could elaborate a bit more on this matter.

    I just bought Killers 180 gram and the sound is dull and muffled and it also came with a chunk of glue stuck to the outer most edge of the first side...My original Killers on the Fame label sounds clear bright and warm. I find the CD's sounds amazing but this is my first 180 gram Maiden vinyl and so far I'm not quite sure.

    • @rabarebra

      I don't agree. These pressings sounds just as good as the originals, if not even better. Very good balanced sound, not compressed-to-death at all. What they did wrong with these, was the horribly done vinyl covers, and I wished they had soft foam inlays for the vinyls in all of the re-issues (some had soft inlays, like Fear of the Dark e.g.).

    I think these are analog.
    Watching this again it seems Christian says they convert to digital for the 7 inch singles.
    Then for the full albums they cut straight from the tapes.
    I have number of the beast and it sounds dull and lifeless like everyone else here described.
    It just goes to show cutting straight the tapes with minimal eq as they describe isn't always the best choice, considering the high end is degrading from tape age it needs that high end bump, I think that is what the problem is here not because they are sourced digitally.

    • @rabarebra

      Calm down. It is just mastered poorly.

  • @vinylcity1599
    @vinylcity1599 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Bummed out to find they converted the tapes to digital, then cut it to LP! It's not so bad if the sampling is greater than standard 44.1k/16 bit! But a pure cut from the analog sourced would have been preferred! The "original Master's" stickers are very misleading! It gives you the impression that it was cut straight off the tape! Is anything cut directly from tape anymore? But hey, the reissues sure sounded like tape to me, I think 192k/24 bit is so close to capturing all the audio information, that it's nearly impossible to tell a difference! The only one that I'm not happy with the audio quality on is "powerslave"! Don't know what went wrong there, guess it was the length!

    • @martinhesketh4916
      @martinhesketh4916 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bullshit, recording the original tapes to digital is always going to be way more than what vinyl's capable of.
