Thanks for this video. I am organizing my baseboard to accommodate a Grand Valley layout and wished to expand the layout similar to yours. Could you give me your baseboard dimensions for the Grand Valley portion? Mine is 5'x8'. Also, do you have any videos of the early stages of construction particularly interested in your placement of risers. Fine job!

very interesting, layout -clean, well organized -the track is prefabricated, no ballasting work etc, right? is the purple floor for noise abate? at the start of the video, the track is placed on white "ground" -are these prefabricated elements with fixed grade? if so, who manufactures these elements? thank you
Thank you. I will be ballasting the track at some point. In later videos you can see that the track runs inside of tunnels. That portion has already been ballasted since I can't get in there. I'm holding off on ballasting the balance until I'm happy with how everything runs. The foam ground is for noise abatement as well as being able to make low spots easier. The white panels in the center section, the risers, inclines and declines are manufactured by Woodland Scenics. A lot of what you see in the video comes in a kit called the Grand Valley layout, which is in the center of the main layout. The outer ring of the main layout is also on the same material which I purchased separately. The rest of the layout is on just 2" thick pink Styrofoam. If you watch the rest of the videos you can see how the layout progresses.
They are 4% but I haven't had any problems with them. I'm running single locomotives pulling between 11-15 pieces of rolling stock with no issue. Thanks.
