I had no idea there were a plastic lever release. Should be alloy at a minimum. That would definitely be a turn off for me. My mate was looking at the Bushmiester. 12g lever which is similar but cheaper. Probably not the same quality though as the veloce. I might see how his goes then make a decision.
Have a look at the Buckmaster BP12 aswell. I haven't fired one but I have handled one at a gunshop, definitely doesn't have the fit and finish of the Veloce but I think I'd prefer its push button location. 👍
Its also worth mentioning that since filming this video there are two other comparable actioned shotguns that have become available in Victoria. The Bushmeister BA-X12 and Buckmaster PB12, they're about a 1/3 and 2/3 the cost of the Verney carrons respectively. I haven't shot either of them but they're another option for people interested in this style of shotgun to look into. 👍
Thanks foe the review. I have used the standard veloce and held the cheaper buckmaster. I will get my hands on the bushmeister soon. So far my preference is my specially imported 20g Charles Daly Triple Crown. Handles better and 31gram loads with three chokes means not losing sight picture as you belt out three as fast as you can pull the trigger. plus it never jams.
@@mchughcb thanks mate, after using my mates walnut one a few times I couldn't go back to my old Adler 🤣 I'd be very interested to see one of those Bushmeisters in the flesh. It makes no sense to me that we aren't allowed to use the triple barrels on quackers in Vic. I reckon there'd be a lot more of them around if we could 👍
@@mchughcb I had a look at one of those Buckmasters last time I was in the gunshop, definitely preferred the button location but the build quality left a bit to be desired after using to the veloce. The synthetic stock did feel pretty flimsy though and the fit up between it and the action wasn't great.
@@stuartgillahan Agree on those points. I didn't like the rail underneath molded on the stock either. $3500 for the veloce, $2100 for the buckmaster and $1100 for bushmeister. Adler second hand $500. Triple Crown 12G second hand $1500. Decisions, decisions 🤔
@@mchughcb the reviews I've seen so far on the bushmeister sound promising. I think it'd be easy to move on for decent price second hand while they're still hard to get here if you didn't end up liking it 👍
Kind got look of a cheap Hatfield but with 3 1/2 vs 3 inch with a lever to work action vs letting the gas system. Cycle it ? . 4 shot more then the usa we limited to 3 shots while hunting
@@tonygillahan no . The 3 shot limit is set by federal for shotguns for hunt magiatory birds like ducks and gesse and turkey and other small game. Only time change is if you use a shotgun for big game then you can hold more. But then their consider slug guns.

Which model did you have mate and what shells were you having issues with? I've put about 350 rounds through mine and haven't had any issues (aside from when I was testing lower gram weight shells)
@@stuartgillahan If you mean synthetic stock or walnut I had a walnut but I had videos of double feeds, rounds ejection out of the bottom of the feed tray, light hammer strikes and failure to seat the rounds in the chamber this happened with 4 or 5 different brands of rounds include Winchester, eley, osa and some others all 34 or higher
@@stuartgillahan I got it refunded after abit of hassles because for the price that I payed I expected it to work without any issues and I just lost all faith in the company as a whole
