It’s really cool the see what people outside of our fan base think of our facilities. Thank you for showing love.
We are very proud of the Yum center and L&N stadium

Louisville's Stadium was built as a Horseshoe Initially. and Expansions were part of the original design.
The Stadium was built with a growing Fanbase in mind. The Original Horseshoe was larger than the Previous Stadium.
The Fanbase has always swelled to meet the next size up for the Big Games Immediately.
Once the Fanbase starts filling up for the Minor Games they start working toward the Next Expansion.
The Flight Deck on the East Side and the Peaked End Zone came later in 2 separate expansions.
The Flight Deck Doubled the Luxury Boxes which were just on the Press Box Side originally.
The New End Zone also added more Luxury Boxes and some other Premium Seating.
The opposite End Zone (not shown) is the popular Party Deck.
If you go - go into the Stadium once it opens and on the Party you can get Beer Specials (and other specials for Soft Drinks, Hot Dogs, Popcorn etc etc) and ANYONE is allowed to be on the Party Deck at any part of the game no matter where your seats are. It's kind of like the Regular Joe's Luxury Box Area.
A 3rd Expansion can place a Deck above the Party Deck to close the Top of the original Horseshoe with the Top of the Flight Deck and Press Box.
A 4th Expansion would close in around the edges of the Peaked End Zone... but I doubt that EVER gets done.
The 3rd and 4th Expansion are not really needed. Not Yet.
I would guess filling in the areas around the New End Zone would be 1st - because they could probably add some Luxury Suites to them somehow and that helps find the construction.
And I don't think the Press Box Side expansion would look that good OR be desirable for Suites. But idk.
If you come to town - check the Live Racing Schedule at Churchill Downs - you might be able to take in a Day at the Track while in town.
Sometimes there will be Racing going on during the Games and from the South End of the Flight Deck you can see the Races.
Looks like Racing Ants but it's pretty cool.
Also try to find a day to do a Bourbon Trail Tour and see all the Distilleries and SAMPLE some of their Products as part of the Tour.
For Pizza you gotta try either Impelliizeris or Bearnos for some Louisville Style Pizza (also Derby City Pizza or Hometown Pizza but less impressive).
For Night Life you hit Baxter Avenue, Frankfort Avenue or 4th Street Live... but there are other good spots too.

Awesome thank you for all the info, obviously you know a lot more about the stadium than I do. Sort of the point of these videos to start up a discussion. I appreciate it!

Damn I was gonna add my two cents u covered everything it just shows what a incredible fan base we have it’s been awesome to watch the growth of the stadium over the years to be there in the late 90’s and then the addition of the upper deck, and then the end zone was amazing. I remember game day was there and we were in the middle of construction that did not go as good as the first I guess there’s only one thing left to say

@@AJD-LsUp I get pretty thorough. But I didn't mention anything about The Alley. I haven't been. I have been too busy with work for maybe 5 or 6 season to go more than 2 or 3 times. But thinking of getting Season Tickets this year OR next. So there is SOME stuff I didn't say.
Probably going to the Notre Dame game w my Dad. We went last time. He probably won't be around or if he is be able to the next time and he wants to go.
Probably going to make it to 1 or both of the 1st 2 games (if work doesn't get in the way) should be some Tickets available in the Lots.

@@AJD-LsUp Well, like I said there SHOULD be tickets in the Parking Lot for the 1st 2 games this year. Odds are people will be giving them away if you are wearing your Red and Black, Just walk around with your Fingers up on how many tickets you need. At worst someone might try to get $5 or $10 from you.
Hell I ended up with 2 Free Tickets to the Miami game when we beat then something like 67-7 several years ago by doing just that. Somebody saw me walk past and ran up to me from behind to GIVE THEM to me.

1:41 SMU is adding a new football facility and premium seats to Ford Stadium which will be opened this fall. As a result, the grass berm was removed ahead of the 2023 season while construction was ongoing.
The Ford Stadium site was previously occupied by Ownby Stadium, which was built in 1926 and was demolished in 1998. As time progressed, SMU moved their home games from Ownby to the Cotton Bowl (1932 through 1978) before playing a few seasons at the old Texas Stadium (1979 through 1986) before the program got the "Death Penalty" for the 1987 and 1988 seasons.
SMU would return to Ownby in 1989 before spending the next six seasons at the Cotton Bowl, the last two seasons occuring while Ownby was demolished and Ford Stadium was built.

I don’t mind bleacher seats because I end up standing anyways. Lots of places do it to where they will install a seat on the bleacher of you’re a season ticket holder

I talked a bit about that in a more recent video. Very good point and that is especially true in college, I personally chairbacks just make a higher quality venue from a perspective purely looking at amenities and the overall build quality. Of course, most stadiums have that X-factor which is the environment that the fans create. That can't be earned just by throwing in a bunch of plastic chairback seats, if anything that may take away from it

    • @_WastedPotential
      @_WastedPotential  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

It is weird no doubt 😂
My first set of videos were very rough, I was trying to improve my quality before I did them. Honestly I feel like the SEC should get my best video, no disrespect to the other power 5 conferences. My favorite team is in the ACC and the team that basically half my family roots for is in the big 10 team. I really have no important connection to the SEC personally is my only point. I just know it will probably be the most viewed out of all my videos so I want to do the best job I can on it if that makes sense.
I love the analogy too btw, that’s perfect lmao

bleacher seating allows the students to be more packed and make more noise; and why should a good college stadium need lots of luxury boxes?. This is college.

talked about that in my Sun Belt video. It is probably more fun being in a bleacher section. Of course it's still not technically as nice as chairbacks. Not that I hate bleachers go. I like your take

The original Stanford Stadium hosted Super Bowl XIX and it is located on campus.
Cal's Memorial Stadium was redone from 2010-2012 to bring it up to code since it sits on the Hayward Fault. Also on the east side outside the stadium is Tightwad Hill, which is famous as you can see the game from it, smoke whatever you smoke and whatever for free. Also, it is on campus but really no parking near the stadium.
Also, Memorial Stadium was placed on U.S. Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The University of Miami really needs a on campus stadium. Students Don’t go to Games because it’s too far away. On top of it being Miami
    There’s a lot going on.
College football football teams should not use NFL stadiums unless it’s for renovations you would think nobody cares about Miami or Pitt football when you see their home games but that’s not the case.
And I’m saying this is a Miami hater

There is a reason why college stadiums have bleachers. Because making them all chair-back seating lowers their capacity artificially, which limits the amount of seats they can sell per game. Which potentially lowers their potential revenue from ticket sales.

    • @_WastedPotential
      @_WastedPotential  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

Not to mention it’s a big investment alone replacing all of the seating, although a lot of schools are starting to add chair backs
