Back in Ye Olden Daze we attached rubber band tracks by melting the pins that tie the ends together, using a lighter to heat an old hobby knife blade to not quite red heat. You might find that useful but mind the fumes. Another weird and wonderful vehicle, and an entirely adequate build. I say that because nothing comparable was available back when I could see well enough to model so I can’t say whether the bits you think you got wrong are wrong or not. But then, I don’t care.
To remove the frizziness of the string, try holding a lighter briefly under it and running it along the length of the string that is exposed. It works a treat as long as you don’t hold the under it for too long, lol.
If you remove the shells from the box at the rear you can put a lot of Sauerkraut in it. (A Sauerkraut joke by Trekan. You didn't see that coming, didn't you?)
Herbert, how did you join the track ends together? Glue, staples or heat? It was a pity you left out that part of the video. I have tried glue, and failed. I ended up using staples then placing them near the top of the track run.

I use a mini stapler and use a black paint pen to colour the staple.
