all hens do that, when they laying eggs or sitting on them. my 2 hens make that noise it's just so cute i cuddle with them they get mad and peck me. XD
The small one is called a bantam if you're wondering. When I was growing up we had many of them. My favorite memory of all time is my mom's bantam, Doll, laying an egg in her hand. The best part is, I had just asked my mom where do eggs come from? She made a few clucks and I saw my mom's face drop. She then held out a tiny bantam egg from under Doll and said, "The eggs come from our chickens, just like that!"... My mind was blown!!! To this day, it is our shared favorite memory of the farm.
I couldnt eat eggs anymore if she laid it right in my hand...like dang man. Should they really trust me....like should they *begins exsistential crisis*
Buff Orpingtons are known for mostly having a gentle, patient demeanor. It's why so many families with kids own them (they won't get too upset or angry if the kids try to hug them or pick them up).
You know that's the nature of entertaining pets, they never tend to satisfy themselves and their love of mating when their competitors have seemingly the better ones or beautiful feathers, with such intense obsession to impress themselves to the mating others, they even commit suicide when they hurt by all this stuff, which is to me somewhat wicked. That's just their nature, the psycho logy of entertaining pets never put up with their competitors to have the better and happier life.
I think the reality of the chicken master's heart (LOL) for the highest quality environment is what makes them mentally suffering from real suicidal attempt. I'd say just be happy chicks because all the entertaining chicks have better life anyway than general public so be thankful and STOP stealing the soul-feeding ideas of a peacefully natural one when it doesn't have the beautiful mind that gives the tangible feeling, even feeling too much envy of that. Sorry to read all of your truth of mirror, that was too easy

+lulzBrownie Close to big parrots and parakeets like love birds and such, though in the chickens you rarelly meet so many small sized kinds like the parrot family.

Breed and handling does play a role in how friendly chickens are. Some breeds tends towards being flighty and skittish and others tend towards friendliness. If you handle and hang out with your birds a lot they are also more likely to be friendly. Of course sometimes you just get very skittish birds for whatever reason. All birds are individuals so you can occasionally have a bird of a friendly breed who's very skittish despite lots of handling and interaction
Every body thinks that chickens are just stupid animals, which may be true, but if they truly pay attention to them, they could see how much personality they have in their movements and sound
Someone told me that he thinks as if michael jackson is the best musician so that I have to be impressed by that. Do I get any natural interest in those stuff, honestly (I don't hate either, naturally)? It does give me that creepy feeling, the logic never allows the false claim to make sense that it leads to watch others' private life when you don't have any interest in the private domain of life. Keep telling lies and get yourself more and more trapped in the nets of those lies.
Broody girls. We have Ameraucanas and Rhode Island reds for hens and we wanted two Silkie hens one black and one white, but the white one died very young and her sibling whom we had called “baby” for several months until baby started to crow and was growing Spurs and we realized that baby wasn’t a hen after all and now we have this little Silkie rooster whose always chasing the much larger hens around but being a Silkie he’s still extremely lovey for a rooster and never attacks anyone.
I've got one like your little bantam ... long story, but she is suddenly getting picked on by her bigger fellow chickens. This is the second time she's ended up in my makeshift chicken hospital. Her name is Ariel and she is more like a pet.
Orps are pretty mild, although some can turn into jalapeno pancakes when broody... They can expertly remove the skin from your arms... My solution is getting my top chook and putting her next to said jalapeno pancake she pecks some sense into their head bevause she has no patience for broody behaviour ❤❤ truly mommies best baby
I grew up having to handle very angry broody chickens that would make me bleed when they pecked but it's a nice reminder to see a video of them being very nice for once. Thank you
The internet requires more videos of the mini-chicken.

My buff Orpington chick sounds like she’s being attacked by a predator when she is picked up lol.
