ABERDEEN FEEL RESORT AND WATERFALL
You should visit this hidden gem. It's difficult to reach it but worth the effort.
It is 98 m high and 8 m in width. Formed from Kehelgamuwa Oya which is a major tributary of Kelani river. This great waterfall is definitely worth seeing. Its 3.5 hrs. (115km) away from Colombo via Awissawella Kithulgala rd. Take the Sripada turn from 43rd km post after passing Kithulgala. There is another road to reach Aberdeen falls just before Ginigathhena but reaching down the waterfall is supported to be bit hard from that end. We went during the dry season and there was no leaches. Here there is a viewpoint but whoever wants to get in to the water can go further down. But swimming in the two deep areas in either side is bit risky according to the villagers. There is a shallow sand step in the middle so we got only in to that area.
