Being a crime and forensics major, let me shed a little insight on this. Evidence is not needed for OD’s or suicide. Evidence is only needed in cases of suspected foul play, murder etc. However, that dollar would have had substance from whatever the guy OD’d on, and would need to be submitted to a forensics lab to get the residue off to find the cause of death. So it wouldn’t be the end of the life of the dollar depending on what forensics decided to do with it.
