I tried this 8bit version arranged for a single Spectrum 8bit Computer by: rolemusic
The 8 bit sound comes from a single AY-3-8910 (3 channels), no efects added
Yep It does miss the piano and guitar solo....
Yep and the bass is a little flat at some seconds, this occurs when it goes under the 2nd octave, and is one of this lovely old machine limitations. I prefer this small temporary flatness than dong whole transposition up, this way I keep the original song musical key.

I heard that Senbonazakura is meant to take place in WW2 Japan, in between the Oriental age of Japan and modern Japan.
I think the song is based in the Meiji Restoration, the translated lyrics don't give that WWII vibe, but that's me

fun fact: this was the third ever vocaloid song I've ever heard. first was Ivean Polka (I KNOW ITS NOY ORIGINALLY VOCALOID **AWOOGA AWOOGA** ) and then some other song I can't remember. I only remember this because I got Project Mirai(?) Demo on the 3ds. This was one of the 2 demo songs. I literally played it so many times that I would add little jingles at the end. 👁️👄👁️
