An exhilarating video. Fantastic views of the sky, water, clouds and city. Loved the final approach when I could see the runway and the water, then flying over the city for the landing. A+ landing and video by the Captain.

This is one of the 1 million examples why Greece is utterly gorgeous. And remind yourself that this is the most utter Nort West corner of Greece. Greece is a country with extremely complex geography and topography, dominated by 80% mountains, and surrounded by 16.000km of crazy coastline.
Then imagine that Greece lies on 4 tectonic earthplates, having 800 natural hotsprings around the nation because of it (fault lines etc), of which only 65 are used, 15.000 caves, 400 wetlands and delta's (a crazy amount), as some of the many impressive features of such a geographically complex nation. It's a nation with a whole arc of volcano's, a desert, the only natural palmforests in Europe, all the way to snow-capped mountains all across the country and everything in between. On top of that the incredible mainland is surrounded by 6000 highly diverse islands.
Just looking at a simple example of the Island of Kos alone. Kos island has a smaller island just bordering it called Gyali island which is one of the largest Pumice sources on the planet. Looks NOTHING like Kos island. And it's just a stones throw away. And then the next island after Gyali island is Nissyros island which is a volcano island, which again looks nothing like Kos or Gyali. And literally they are 3 neigbhoring islands, just literally in eachothers sights Gyali island is only 11km away from Kos, and Nissyros is only 3.5 km away from Gyali. And just 3 completely different worlds. Let that sink in of how utterly diverse Greece even is and how crazily different you can be in a nother world within an hour, let alone the amount of worlds you can be in on a single day.
Greece has a stupendously high density of diverse beauties.
It's only a nation that is 800 km north to south and 800km East to West, but because it has a extremely complex geography, and lying on 4 tectonic earth plates (The European, Asian, African coming together in Greece, and a 4th one crushed in between), 80% mountains, makes the nation so packed with beauty, that around every corner you see a new spectacular view that you can't find elsewhere in Greece.

When did they change the runway headings from 17/35 to 16/34?
Also looks like it's had a bit of resurfacing work and paint over the winter.

No published instrument approaches for this runway due to high terrain. Only options are visual approach or instrument approach to the other end followed by circling

    Captain a quick question.
You landed on runway 16, shouldn't the opposite direction be runway 32? Not 34.

      Rwy 16=160 degrees
+180 degrees (the reciprocal) =340 degrees or Rwy 34
      The runway marking is correct
