Early Season Salmon Fishing - Vedder River

Spent some time on the Vedder trying to get the monkey off my back in search of the first fish of the fall salmon season. Consensus: the fishing has been slow, even for early season. In past years, it seems like people were reporting better success half way through September however its been slow for many others this year as well.
The lack of rain and low water levels are most likely playing a factor. The flood recovery work on the river might be affecting the fish as well. There has been better reports of fish in the mid/upper river so maybe they've been shooting up and not holding in the lower part to try and get away from the disruption.
Spent a couple days scouting the river and trying to hunt down the fish.

haha Im assuming you are referring to @thefishingdoctorsadventures. I've messaged him through social media before and I've ran into him working at the hospital a couple times. Yup, soft beads. The bigger ones were the ticket that day. I prefer using smaller beads myself but these spring aren’t afraid of the golf ball size presentations I guess 😂
