These devs are an exception to the rule but you are still correct, this game now can stand on it's own merits due to original characters. Ascetically, SHanty is turning out to be a favorite of mine. Look and design are just epic for this little goat lass. The voice was a shock to me at first... But REALLY fits her well. I am quite excited to hear the musical mixes that accompany this new addition to an already fantastic roster.

One last thing, her pirate ship? *NOT HERS.* Maybe she stole it, who knows?

When Skullgirls 2nd encore's DLc Character came up, Them's Fightin' Herds also did released a dlc Character, What Game will be next to released a new Dlc Character
So it takes 7 months of work to make a dlc character. For a team the size of Mane6. And that also involves them doing other things like balance patches,lobby stuff,and performance optimization. So yeah. Making games is hard.

the big thing is that a lot of the crazy extensions/getting on the wall/running/flippy jump axe kick stuff is Magic. It feels a lot like her gameplan is going to be using Hard knockdown off of Cutlass (the bushin gram lookin' move on 236A) or throw, using that opportunity to use parley (22A, can be charged to 3 seperate levels to say either "Ay!", "Aye!", or "YAAAR!!!") to charge her magic so then she has the crazy tools to open you up/frametrap with runstance cancel, or take advantage of the crazy grounded/wall mobility. The ability to low or high profile just on her normals is nuts. 2B seems to put her hitbox really low and slide her in, while 6C lets her high profile stuff like grounded Shadow Sparks, Ari super, and a bunch of other stuff before coming down with a big ol' overhead... or if you hold 6C, the actual attack won't come out so you can do stuff like... fake overhead into throw!

I thought Tian was bad, then this character came out and I stopped playing multiplayer. Salt mines and arcade for me until the next story comes out.
So her musical motif is a tropical one with steel drums! That fits pretty well with the "island" theme as opposed to "pirate".
It kinda fits though since she's not _really_ a pirate, she just wants to be one~
