5:11 When Hank puts his hand on Connor's forehead, that shows so much. It was intentional and emotional. If you don't know the person well or at all, someone won't be putting their hand there. Usually that kind of silent gesture shows care and a level of gentleness that is usually only shared between family. Just the small things, but they really can be the big things. it shows that Hank had begun to see Connor as close or family.
It might not be as cheesy, but the actual reason is that Hank is allowed to carry a gun and defend himself, Connor is not. It's just very basic strategy.
It's actually his job. It's not because he's particularly protective of Connor. He has to keep Connor safe, because Connor is CyberLife property on loan to the police department. Connor can't legally carry a firearm to protect himself, so Hank has to go into potentially dangerous situations first.

i find it adorable and funny when hank, a human, acts as a shield for connor, the android sent by cyberlife, whenever they're about to break into a house or room
I love the hug at the end more than otherwise thematically. It's hank accepting that life goes on even though he makes mistakes and also accepting the truth that connor is not human while still be able to be bros with him
Then later on Connor says "this morning when we were chasing those deviants why didn't you want me to cross the highway" Hank "because you could of been killed"
8:25 i love how connor is sitting on the desk on a very organic way, hunched over and such. also, i noticed that the further u get into the deviant storyline, the more he emotes with his hands! its not much but its something.
Every time Connor had that instability warning, he was doing something good in Hanks eyes, he showed real humanity in those moments. I can not wait until I can finally play this game for myself!
I cried when Connor yelled to Hank for help during the scene in the news-tower kitchen. Arguably one the best acted line out of all of Connor's moments. Connor: "Hank!.. Hank, I need help!.." _dies in Hank's arms_ Me: _cries profusely_
With Todd, he tried to get things back to normal by replacing his family with androids. Hank, on the other hand, doesn't want a new android son but the more Connor and Hank bond, the more he feels like a father figure towards him and it's so cute!
If you think that's precious, when you meet Hank at the food truck the following day; you can have Connor ask Hank why he stopped him from running after the deviants. Holy shit Hank has Spidey Senses, now I'd bet to you that Hank is still alive from when Connor let him go off a building. Hank is a fucking Spiderman. There's a reason why his body wasn't shown dead, all characters in the game that gets killed are shown right in the center of the screen, but Hank is an exception. 5:11 When Hank puts his hand on Connor's forehead, that shows so much. It was intentional and emotional. If you don't know the person well or at all, someone won't be putting their hand there. Usually that kind of silent gesture shows care and a level of gentleness that is usually only shared between family. Just the small things, but they really can be the big things. it shows that Hank had begun to see Connor as close or family.
awee hank’s “stay behind me” is such a father-like think to do!!! best pair in the whole game, no doubt
carry me to victory and I love how Connor responds. Just instantly he says “Got it” with a such cute tone of voice
It reminds me of Joel and Sarah from The Last of Us
It might not be as cheesy, but the actual reason is that Hank is allowed to carry a gun and defend himself, Connor is not. It's just very basic strategy.
It's even better then Markus and Carl, and that was an amazing pair.
It's actually his job. It's not because he's particularly protective of Connor. He has to keep Connor safe, because Connor is CyberLife property on loan to the police department. Connor can't legally carry a firearm to protect himself, so Hank has to go into potentially dangerous situations first.
What’s more emotional, Markus calling Carl “dad” or Hank calling Connor “son”?
