I love when you answer questions people ask, most times I didn’t know I needed the answer. I just love your spirit and you are so funny. Thank you for sharing. 🥰💕
That was wonderful! So fun to not only get verbal answers to questions, but your illustrating your point and advice on actual cards was a GREAT VISUAL aid. Thank you Cathy!
I almost choked on my donut when you did the angels singing with the pop-up of Jennifer! 😂 Please post a warning next time! Skmirphhhh! I bet she did too! LMBO😆 😅😂🤣 You always crack me up, Cathy, but oh my! LOL 😊❤
Thank you for picking my question! Enjoyed all the questions and your responses. Watching you always inspires and makes my day! Love this to be a regular feature!
Thank you Cathy. Love having this info consolidated even though it is repeated from many of your videos. Wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!🤶
Cathy, you are a breath of fresh air...no matter if I'm down for some reason, watching you either live or video, helps perk me up!! Thank You and Merry Christmas to you and your family 💞
Love the Q & A. Thanks for you do. Sharing, caring and inspiration. Did I mention your humor? Thanks for the share. Look forward to your next card sesh. 👉
My 1 Christmas card, I messed up just a tad of the embossing and took a deep breath. It wasn't major but can still make ya tear up a little. Just too deep breath and said it's ok, not the end of the world. Lol. If it did happen to be too much of a mess up, I would have just taken the panel off of the front of the card and start it over with a new bass card. But luckily it wasn't too bad. There's always a boo-boo somewhere on my cards. I just say the boo boo is my trademark my trademark! But seriously like Kathy said if it's not acceptable to you and you can restamp fussy cut anything like that go that route. Thumbs up to Cathy's Q&A's
That was fun to watch! Also, a lot of good information. And when you had the angelic music behind Jennifer McGuire's photo, well that was classic! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Cathy, thanks for this video. Love your honesty. Always validates me when a professional says alcohol coloring is not their favorite. My critters come out ok, but honestly don’t enjoy it either. Love me some paper piecing, tho!
Thank you, Cathy, for answering those questions as I learned a lot. As far as copis markers and other alcohol markers go, I feel the same way you do. I've tried to use the colorless marker when I go out of the line and don't like the result. Hopefully, someday I'll get the hang of them. Thanks again. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Love the Info. And my coffee always gets cold and needs several reheat sessions. Merry Christmas and thank you for inspiring me and also that the process is truly an experiment.
Thanks for answering my question! PS. It's so nice to hear that someone is drinking cold coffee that still tastes good! If there's one thing I learned in high school it was from my history teacher, Mr. Jolly (who was gracious enough to share his coffee with the class), who taught us that "good coffee is still good when it's cold". ☕️😊. Cheers and Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas Cathy to you and your family! I'm a big fan of yours and want to thank you for all you do for us crafters out there. I really appreciate your talents!
Thank you so much for these tips! I AM a notebook person and I don't know why I haven't kept an "idea book" for my cardmaking!!! That's going to change today!!! Again, thank you so much! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! 🎄🎁🎉❄️☃️
Fun video, thanks! If we ever met in person (not likely since I'm introverty too) we could carry on a conversation consisting entirely of movie quotes, with frequent outbreaks into song.
Thank you, Cathy! Your videos are always fun, informative and inspiring. Have a wonderful Christmas. P.S. I was drinking cool coffee along with you….too lazy to walk to the microwave.
Thank you so much for doing this and for picking my question!! Did you ever watch romper room? It’s a kid show from the 60s or 70s - I don’t know, it might be only a Canadian thing. All the little people would wait at the end because the magic mirror would look out over TV land and call out our names. I see Cathy! I see Doreen! I see Sally! You make me feel seen! Thank you for warming my heart.
@@czdesign It might not have been. Now I need to google it! Nope it was an American show from1953 to 1994! Filmed in Baltimore. Who knew?! And it franchised to Canada, UK, Japan, Finalnd, NZ, Puerto Rico, Paraguay, Australia, Argentina and Greece. Wow again
Hi Cathy. Love watching your videos! this was fun, good answers to good questions. I watched Meghann Andrew color once. She stamped first in light gray, colored, then stamped again in black, then die cut. That way, you have a chance to clean up a bit if you go out of the lines slightly. Amazing! I haven't tried yet but it seems like it would help. I'm nervous about coloring too!
Merry Christmas to you and your family (of course that includes Frankie-😂). Hope you have a wonderful 2025 and continue to inspire and teach us card makers!
Great Video Kathy, I'm an Aussie & going to attempt to help answer the metric question, even though it's extremely rare for me to use Metric in my card making etc as Imperial is much easier & quicker, mm are too fiddly. On the rare times I make a metric card from a tutorial, I just cut everything out with my Scan N Cut as I can swap it from Metric to Imperial in the SnC, it's much quicker & easier that way. Here's some tips etc (I don't know any good websites with the measurements.) In metric we work with mostly millimetres (mm) & Centimeters (cm). Metric works basically in units of tens, so 10mm = 1cm, 5 mm = half a cm & 2.54cm = 1 inch. If you have a ruler, paper trimmer etc, with metric on it you'll see eg: Between the 0 & 1 etc you have the small lines & a longer one halfway at (5), if you count them all there'll be a total of 10 mm, that goes all the way up to 30 cm. So if you have to cut say 10.7 cm go to the 10cm on ruler & count 7 little lines across. For matting layers reduce size by 5mm ( half a cm) Here are some standard card base sizes and measurements in metric: • A5: 148 mm x 210 mm - (14.8 cm x 21cm) • DL: 99 mm x 210 mm - (9.9cm x 21cm) • 125 mm Square: 125 mm x 125 mm - (12.5cm x 12.5cm) • 145 mm Square: 145 mm x 145 mm - (14.5cm x 14.5cm) • A4: 210mm x 297mm - (21 cm x 29.7 cm) • Business card: 89mm x 51mm - (8.9 cm x 5.1 cm) I hope this answers some basic Metric stuff & I haven't confused the situation more, I'm not well & brain is a bit fuzzled.
I am intimidated with markers. when I use them, esp. dark colors, the lines disappear on my design. I get so frustrated and want to use them so much. what's the secret?
I would say just practice. And go very slowly when you’re coloring. Part of the reason I speed up any video that has coloring is because I go super slowly when I’m coloring. Also another tip? Get a colorless blender if you’re using COPIC markers because it will help remove some of the coloring out of the lines.
I use my Copics for a lot of things, but blended coloring isn't among them. (Your difficulties aren't all on you; check out Amy Shulke's videos. And other brands tend to have more markers with the difficult qualities that only a few of the Copics have.) Lots of people do Copic coloring videos and they don't really expose the ins and outs of using them. We don't need more of those. They're nice to color-correct something in a printed paper so it goes better with the rest of the design. You can use them on clear bling. You can edge white cardstock to back your design for a color you don't have in colored cardstock. You can use colored pencils to get the detail you want over them. When I really want to color (which isn't that often), I prefer colored pencils or watercolor pencils to get the control you seem to want. Pan pastels are another alternative, though they might work better with approaches that don't have much details and styles that don't require staying in the lines (as would watercolor). So many choices!
I love when you answer questions people ask, most times I didn’t know I needed the answer. I just love your spirit and you are so funny. Thank you for sharing. 🥰💕
Great video, Cathy! Can't wait to see those new inside sentiment designs! Fun Q&A!
