Nice introduction to Tellico Plains!! Since the 1970s when I started backpacking in the Smokies I have heard about the Tellico Plains area. Not until about 5 years ago did I start exploring the Cherokee National Forest and it's now my prime starting point when I visit the Southern Appalachians!

This is the most beautiful country ever. I wish I could live here!

Born is East Tennessee. Bald River Falls is beautiful and spent many summers tubing the river below the falls. The people are so friendly and growing up there was a blessing. Learned how to make (and eat) beans and cornbread. Southern hospitality at its best!

While living either in Johnson City or Cleveland, spent the BEST 14 1/2 years of my life with my wife Barbara, often motorcycled here together, memories which will carry me to heaven

Apparently they never taught proper sentence structure and grammar.

There are more important ideas taught about communication than spelling and grammar. Ideas captured by MLJ’s statement are enthusiasm for learning and thankful appreciation for those who taught. Both of these virtues will take this person further than a spinster-like penchant for proper spelling and grammatical constructions.

I had the opportunity to move here recently but decided against it. The people there are
Not welcoming to outsiders and have a “us versus them” mentality. Pretty place but the people there ruin it.

      Agree. Very awkward.

...kinda picked up on that too when I first visited the area about 2018 for the first time. And I'm from Alabama. Still go through there but I just get gas, maybe some groceries, and keep on moving.
