You’re actually getting an even better representation of the series because Tite Kubo worked with the studio to help fill in gaps he was unfortunately unable to fill in the manga due to his health. It only gets better from here

@@MespyyThe manga was much more light-hearted in comparison, a lot of comedic scenes were removed and also some plot points that went nowhere. But there were a couple of unfortunate cuts, such as Byakuya's eulogy.
I stopped watching anime in 2015, and OG bleach was one of the last ones I watched. A few months ago I decided to see what this new bleach season was all about and watched one episode before going to bed. Bro that first Cour was a love letter and I watched it in one sitting. After the second Cour, I read the rest of the manga and rewatched all of OG bleach in about a month and the amount of foreshadowing was insane. There is something so special about this show.
I think what Old Man Zangetsu meant when he said he would have to kill him with his own hands , is that if Ichigo continues to be a Soul Reaper, he will eventually fight Yhwach.

I teared up in the manga and in the anime with "The Blade is me". This is the climax of his character arc. The culmination of Ichigo understanding himself, his power and his role in this world.
Just wanna say that whar you are doing is super impressive. (Not even mentioning how fast you pump out the video) One can literally feel how much you enjoy bleach whole watching. I am more hyped while watching your videos then when I was watching bleach myself. You also pick up on a lot more stuff then the average person. Predictions always on point or at least cool ideas. I can't speak for others but I at least will keep watching every video you make because of YOU and not because of the anime the video is about.

Yhwach didn't have to outsmart yamamoto. He only did that to humiliate him. He wasn't planning on giving yamamoto an honorable defeat. He wanted a humiliation for him.

Yamamoto went nuts and spam skills not because he thinks he needs all of these to defeat Yhwach, but he wants to show Ychwach their difference in strength, he want to defeat him physically, emotionall and spiritually. While Yhwach already was stronger than Yamamoto, because while Yamamoto was going peacefully in SS for the past thousand years, Yhwach was gaining strength and planning in the dark. He didn't even count him as a special threat. He didn't even confronted and prioritize Yamamoto cause he already know he can deal with him any time later after meeting Aizen which is a priority.
One thing to mention is that back in SS during the Kenpachi fight Old Man Zangetsu stops the bleeding of Ichigo with it's power. Thing is, that ability, that's not a thing a Zanpakuto does, that was Blut Vene (the reinforcement ability that the quincies have) and in that same moment, the spirit that shows up behind Ichigo is the hollow mask. We where told this early that White Ichigo was Zangetsu and Old Man Zangetsu was a quincy. Even the way he appears is similar to the shadow thing that the quincies do.
no you’re wrong blut vene makes the person insanely durable. we saw in the ichigo vs ulquiorra fight or after it that the real zangetsu (most likely because it is a hollow) healed ichigo’s chest hole

It's crazy because when Cour 1 ended, we were all HYPED for Cour 2, and when that ended we were even MORE hyped for Cour 3 and now that we're on Cour 3, it just keeps getting better! So much PEAK awaits you! I'm even more hyped for Cour 4 because of the amount of new content that Kubo will be adding. Bleach is at it's best right now.
Really? At its best? I think that’s nostalgia speaking because tybw is not bleach at its best it is easily the worst arc in the manga. What peak awaits us? Kubo failing to give side characters things to do so he makes an immortal guy just for them to have something to showcase their new powers against but never actually accomplish anything? The god awful ending? Ywach’s boring ass powers? Don’t get me wrong i’m happy bleach is back too but this arc is not well written at all, there’s a reason people have been clowning on it in the manga for 20 years.

i dont understand on what yall mean by its peak because its not even close. This arc has such a braindead amount of plot armor to the point where its legit not even enjoyable to read or watch. Bleach has always had an issue with powerscaling but tybw with yhwach and his 2nd hand quincy take it to a whole other level of braindead broken and unbeatable.

When the first episode dropped, I actually got chills when Ichigo used his Getsuga Tenshou against all those hollows ^-^ I am both excited and sad that we are so close to being at the end of Bleach ! The first cour of TYBW will always remain my favorite return and essentially the presentation of Bleach. New animation, fights, visuals are simply magnificent, many times better than what was before. I really like the dark atmosphere that was present in the arc, you really believe that this is an arc of war between two factions, and not just a sparring match or a tournament. I really liked the ending and of course the battle between Ichigo and Yhwach, although it does not last that long, it looks simply phenomenal showing the balance of power. I also liked the updated soundtrack here and to some extent it is different from the past, but this does not make it bad. In general, events occur here that change your understanding of Bleach as a series. And this is not only in terms of. In different aspets. And the frank dialogue between Ichigo and his father about the secret only proves how much I like these two characters. They are one of my favorites. The ending was really cool, especially the dialogue with Zangetsu was just great. I think you'll need to take a break from this arc until the full 3 chapters are out, since 7 episodes have already been out, and it'll end at the end of the year. Can't wait for the next cour video.

I'm glad you're enjoying peak so far, TYBW anime is Kubo's original vision finally realised. Every scene feels so impactful here without censorship, and it's beautiful to watch as you can sense the full scale of this war. Part 3 is currently about halfway done (7/13 episodes) and it's been absolutely insane, with the most added content by far. This was around when the manga started feeling rushed, so it's been amazing to see all these additions. Bleach's comeback after all the slander has been an incredible journey and I hope it can continue.
Wait until you’ve rewatched the entirety of Bleach for a 2nd or 3rd time! There are so so many little things Kubo has done to give hints and tie things from like the very beginning! It’s insane
My favourite scene is definitely when the Asauchis kneeling before Ichigo. The scene is just so cool when it was already given context that his Asauchi was actually a Hollow??! Cinema. Absolute Cinema.
Again, a great video. I can't wait till you see the 3rd cour, and the things that happened there make me feel like in the old days of shonen. Not that now is bad, but oh my god, what I witnessed there was beyond phenomenal. Btw. In Cour 2, there is a whole fight near the end that was added by Kubo because in the manga it was rushed, and if I remember correctly, the fight didn't even happen there. Kubo didn't like how it was, so he changed it, and let me tell you, one change can make a great fu*king fight. Ps: If you want to start a gaming channel in the future, you should play Persona 5 Royal or Persona 3 Reload; they're both great games with great characters.
I started one piece this year for the first time and watched 1000+ episodes in 4months, currently giving it 2 years for it to build up some episodes for me to binge again. That experience reminds of the reactions you’re having watching bleach for the first time. I’m gonna have to rewatch the 1000year blood arc again. Seeing what happened to Byakuya at the beginning had me in shock, i couldn’t comprehend what i was witnessing. It was crazy because i wasn’t expecting bleach to return and go 0-100 just like that. It hits different when you had to wait YEARS…it was worth the wait!
im currently doing the same with One Piece, got to aroundd Zoro vs S-Hawk and since then i’ve been letting the episodes pile up. but yea TYBW gets straight to it, no time wasted, to me there wasnt any episode id rate less than an 8.5 in part 1

Completely agree it was the perfect end for Byakuya, and him surviving just takes the impact off of his last words. I was super disapointed reading this back then. Also, a cool foreshadowing from Kubo, I don't know if he had that in mind back then but if you remember when Ichigo had a broken Zampakuto and he had to find his powers back from all these boxes falling in his inner world, only one was red with his shinigami powers but the rest was all white, just like the Uryu's one, makes you realize how little his shinigami powers represents compared to his Quincy side. Zangetsu really didn't play when he told him he only gave him a fragment of his powers until then
everybody is saying that Kubo reverted his decision to let Byakuya die there after fans backlash and death threats, which is extremely upsetting. he pours his life into this manga to be treated like that. i thought his initial decision to let Byakuya die there was the right call, having him pass worrying about the same people he was trying to crush back in the Soul Society arc. oh well, at least i know the decision wasnt poor writing, but a result of fan outrage also thank you for reminding me about the spirit ribbons, one day i remember wondering what happened to the concept of spirit ribbons because it was only introduced for those 2 specific instances. the foreshadowing is ridiculous
I think you might be misremembering about the spirit ribbons... Unless I'm wrong I'm pretty sure the white ribbons were just what colour they normally are, unless they are a soul reaper.. There's an episode (don't remember which one) after the one where Ishida tells Ichigo about them (but before Ichigo goes into his inner world), where Ichigo tracks someone down using their spirit ribbon (which happens to be a white ribbon), even Rukia comments on how Ichigo was able to do that as it's not something easy to do. I don't believe we even know if Quincy's ribbons are a different colour, it could be only soul reapers that have that, if so then yes, quincy ones could be white, but sobis everyone else that isn't a soul reaper. I don't recall ever seeing anyone use or mention spirit ribbons again after those episodes at the start of the show, so I don't think they must have been that important ultimately... Or Kubo decided to just not utilise them again.

I loved that after all the years...we had a definite definition of what a zanpakuto is...its not your partner, lover, or weapon etc....its is you. To reveal that the answer was infront of us the whole time.. the same way ichigos powers were. Its so poetic....to understand and accept yourself leads your to become more powerful in bleach.
The Battle is my favorite episode. Beautifully poetic. Unohana has been my favorite captain since the beginning. You could tell she was going to be different if she ever fought, and I love the foreshadowing. She's the 2nd oldest captain next to Yamamoto. I'm mad she had to die just so Shunsui being captain could be justified. Kenpachi isn't allowed to ever die now, unless by Ichigo's hands since she gave her life for him to grow.
Kubo, the author of Bleach, is actually directing TYBW anime due to which a lot of unnecessary scenes from manga were cut out and new scenes were added which made the anime even better. The best one being at the end of TYBW part 2. The end of part 1 gave me the most amount of goosebumps I have ever gotten!!!!!!
@@readordienn I hope so too. What I didn't like about the changes in the anime is that Kubo cut out a lot of important part too like Gremmy's backstory, Orihime's cloth reaction, Ichigo and others imagining how Yourichi's Brother look like, etc.

@readordienn addition of Bankais was cool but it didn't affect the plot in a positive or negative way whatsoever except for Sanjimaru's Bankai. I was expecting Kensai and Rose to actually win against superstar and also Shinji defeat Bambi and Komamura vs Haschwalth (he would have lost to Yhwach anyways)
A lot of the fights in court 3 have been anime original/heavily expanded upon fights. Next saturday is the first big benchmark fight in the manga. I’m very excited to see what they’re gonna do with that one

So basically everything that being chop, being rush, and overuse joke is being adjust for the anime! HELL! WE EVEN GOT THE WHOLE NEW ANIME ORIGINAL SCENE! Example like: Uryu interaction with his Father, Sasaki backstory, extended Fight of Ichgio vs Yhwach! All of them was never in the manga! Damn even Manga readers was in shock they dont even know whats going to happen in part 3 of the anime rn!
The TYBW really captures the gory brutality and horrors of war in a way that the other arcs only slightly looked into. It's telling how in the war's aftermath Shunsui, as part of his general reforms, abolished the previous restrictive and selective recruitment policies. Gotei 13 took heavy damage, a sharp contrast from the last conflict with Aizen and his Arrancar.
I just wanna mention that when ichigo broke out of the prison that Quincy made and got into the soul society, he used a sonido instead of a flash step to get to Byakuya, and we know this because the others feel his spiritual pressure disappearing, which really shows the culmination of his anger at that moment. Just a small detail that I really liked.
Yeah man, nothing can really compare to the hype I had when TYBW first came out. I literally cried when the opening played out. Over a DECADE that we waited, thinking we'd never see the last arc animated, and it's THIS good along with extra bits to clear things up from the manga. I mean shit, it's legit anime movie quality animation but it's every episode 😂
btw I thought this was a really cool fact that someone mentioned before but if you go back to ichigo's first soul reaper fight in substitute shinigami arc (beginning arc), when he fights renji and suddenly gets his massive "power-up" and has a bit of a crashout, his personality really resembles White Zangetsu in that moment so it was foreshadowed all the way back there that his soulreaper powers were derived from White and not old man zangetsu.
14:12 the moment he enters the soul society, maybe you caught on or not, but it wasn’t flash step he used when he vanished to byakuya, it was Sonido, which made the build up even more better
I've watched a whole Bleach 2 years ago in 2022 just before TYBW started you're so right that TYBW is peak it's animation, ending & opening themes, character designs and story everything are amazing in TYBW defienitily in Part 3 it's insane! One of the cool things abt unohana is not only is she the first kenpachi, but that was during a time when the 13 squads were just murderers and thugs and villains. Literally the baddest of the bad. AND her shikai was still the big healing mantra ray. So she killed most people in base form. Or just went full demon blood sword bankai. Insane character. Love her.
That was spiritual communication between Aizen and Yhwach. he didn't physically go to Mugen and meet Aizen Pretty sure the reason Byakuya lived was because there was such a huge backlash in the manga when it happened, but I could be very very wrong. Personally I wish they extended the Unohanna vs Kenpachi fight to at least be an entire episode, I wanted to see her full bankai. The Blade is Me is DEFINTIELY one of the best episodes in Anime IMO.
Thank God you're saying Yhwach's name correctly. So many people get caught up in the Japanese pronunciation Yuhabaha, but that would be like saying Yuno's transformation magic in Black Clover is supposed to be pronounced Spirito Drivu, instead of Spirit Drive. They only say yuhabaha because they don't end syllables with a k and they don't have a V sound in Japanese

So this was a great video, I've definitely subbed! But, when you were talking about how you really liked the scene in the Soul Society arc where Old Man Zangetsu saves Ichigo, I wanted to add some info from the manga the anime didn't expound on. They mention in the anime that it was Quincy powers that saved Ichigo in that moment, but specifically it was how Zangetsu said "I've stopped your bleeding", which is something that the Quincy can do with Blut Vene! Also, when Zangetsu obscured Ichigo from Kenpachi and time dilated for them to talk, it was with a SHADOW. It's crazy to me lol
YES, that scene where Old Man Zangetsu saved Ichigo vs Kenpachi was my 2nd favorite moment in OG Bleach (2nd to Ichigos first Bankai) but after watching The Blade is Me that might be my favorite moment in all of Bleach so far. already an amazing moment but the foreshadowing, the fact that the truth behind Ichigos power was right in front of our faces the whole time. the writing was amazing lol and i genuinely haven't seen foreshadowing and storytelling this good since i watched AOT. its all so good lol thats all
A lot of superfluous stuff is cut from the anime and/or rearranged to make it flow better. I'd definitely recommend going back and reading the manga to pick up on the changes. While most of it is just comedic moments that were cut, there's a few explanations of things that were moved into the mid-episode cards rather than outright explained. An example: The manga explains that Renji's Bankai, back when Byakuya destroyed a few pieces of it, never actually recovered those pieces and was weakened because of it.
I was getting butterflies in my stomach when that first episode ending came on it was just soo fitting and a perfect love letter to bleach fans. Tbh I don't think you've missed anything there at all there is one thing involving Old Man Zangetsu but that'll get revealed in due time (unless if you watched OG Bleach in dub). I know you're gonna love cour 2 and 3 though especially the latest episode that released yesterday. Hopefully down the line we get a list of your favorite Sternritters. But yeah Kenpachi vs Unohana was peak and is the start of one of the greatest plot twists in Bleach. There's tons of characters im hoping to see more out of (Soi Fon being one of them)
i loved how much care they put into TYBW, it was evident from the first episode. from the ending to even using unique title cards which i was afraid they would get rid of considering TYBW is more serious in nature, but they even managed to fit that in which gives Bleach and the individual episodes personality. the last episode in specific was genuinely one of the anime episodes with the most love and care put into it ive ever seen and i know its only up from here. also i will make sure to do a list of my favorite Sternritters when they start to get some more screentime
despite the pure energy, hype, and quality that the fights had, the everything but the rain and blade is me episodes r considered one of the most beautifully crafted and written episodes of all time imo. issuing and mask's backstory was like a love poem, and ichigo's self discovery brought and fulfilled his character development. 100/10 show

Now that you’ve watched cour 1, go back through your old videos again and see how many clues were laid through the earlier arcs. Like in the video, Ichigo’s background. Kenpachi’s fights. Zangetsu’s true identity. That and so much more. If anything, I would heavily recommend rewatching the first episode of Bleach again. Why can Ichigo see hollows? His dad may be a soul reaper, but he himself isn’t a soul reaper. Think about Rukia’s reaction to Ichigo. It’s all there.
Honestly, the final scene of the two swords turning into reishi and just vanishing is peak cinema, in the fake karakura town, aizen considered the binding chain with zangetsu to be a true connection, and also consider his own sword straight shattering to be "becoming one" and that "hogyoku doesn't doesn't see kyoka suigetsu as necessary anymore" But here, for the first time, a shinigami just, absorbs the sword back into them, rather than sealing it, there is no seperate sword, Zangetsu is a part of ichigo, a part of ichigo that takes shape as it is, and not as a sealed sword Like think about it, there exists no other shinigami, not even ichibe, who walks around without a sword But Ichigo truly is one with the sword, it's an extension of him
It took me so long to realise that during Spul Society and his first few times, Getsuga Tensho was blue, based on his Quincy powers, then later down the line like Fake Karakura Town, it becomes orange, from his Shinigami powers
The quincy names all being German has made them impossible for me to say so i get it. As an OG Bleach fan I have to say this wait has been worth it. I haven't watched anime for years but TYBW has me pulled back in like my college days. Thank you for watching and sharing your feelings. Bleach is finally getting the love it always deserved. Cour 2 personally blew me away too so excited about that.

I would highly recommend reading through the manga after you finish cour 2 simply to see how amazing all the new content has been and how well the anime team and Kubo have been doing with new scenes and how Kubo wanted everything to pan out but couldn’t due to his injury. Then again it’s also great to see how he always wanted it to be originally first. Either way definitely read the manga to see the colossal difference especially for cour 3 and I’ll assume cour 4 as well.
One of the coolest things I noticed when rewatching bleach is that when Aizen was talking to Ichigo in the arrancar arc, he was telling him that he was part human but gets interrupted. At the time you think he was gonna follow with half hollow, but now we know he meant half Quincy
byakuya asking ichigo for help is one of my most fav moments too in cour1 because we know that byakuya is one of the most prideful captain in bleach and to ask ichigo who he sees as not a real shinigami a nomal human civilian nonetheless to protect not just renji or rukia but the whole soul society was just a lot of character development its so peak man my top 3 moments are the blade is me the battle of the kenpachis and this.
24:45 Old man Zangetsu isnt exactly "gone". He just decided to stop suppressing the hollow powers. Thats why he dual weilds in his soul reaper form. Big blade symbolises the Soul Reaper /hollow powers & the smaller one symbolises his quincy powers.

It might surprise you how different it is, like Rukia is the size of a doll that Ichigo carries around in his pocket, Orihime literally dies and was murdered by her father (in a creepier, more possessive version before it got refined to her brother Sora's story), etc. Bleach Jump Festa OVA - like a pilot episode, I think this was made before the actual anime was started and it's a 45 minute version of the Grandfisher arc without the extra filler shinigami brought in. Zombie Powder - Kubo's serialized work before Bleach that was canceled after 4 volumes. It's very raw and edgy but you can check out the concepts/ideas he's been toying with even before Bleach. Burn the Witch - technically an expansion/offshoot from the Bleach universe of UK's version of Soul Society. Kubo seems to have written the story to entertain his kids, but don't quote me on that. My sister was so mad when we finished it coz she wanted more 😂. There is also the Bleach Hell Arc oneshot (post epilogue).
You’re actually getting an even better representation of the series because Tite Kubo worked with the studio to help fill in gaps he was unfortunately unable to fill in the manga due to his health. It only gets better from here

I stopped watching anime in 2015, and OG bleach was one of the last ones I watched. A few months ago I decided to see what this new bleach season was all about and watched one episode before going to bed. Bro that first Cour was a love letter and I watched it in one sitting. After the second Cour, I read the rest of the manga and rewatched all of OG bleach in about a month and the amount of foreshadowing was insane. There is something so special about this show.
I think what Old Man Zangetsu meant when he said he would have to kill him with his own hands , is that if Ichigo continues to be a Soul Reaper, he will eventually fight Yhwach.

Yamamoto went nuts and spam skills not because he thinks he needs all of these to defeat Yhwach, but he wants to show Ychwach their difference in strength, he want to defeat him physically, emotionall and spiritually. While Yhwach already was stronger than Yamamoto, because while Yamamoto was going peacefully in SS for the past thousand years, Yhwach was gaining strength and planning in the dark. He didn't even count him as a special threat. He didn't even confronted and prioritize Yamamoto cause he already know he can deal with him any time later after meeting Aizen which is a priority.
One thing to mention is that back in SS during the Kenpachi fight Old Man Zangetsu stops the bleeding of Ichigo with it's power. Thing is, that ability, that's not a thing a Zanpakuto does, that was Blut Vene (the reinforcement ability that the quincies have) and in that same moment, the spirit that shows up behind Ichigo is the hollow mask. We where told this early that White Ichigo was Zangetsu and Old Man Zangetsu was a quincy. Even the way he appears is similar to the shadow thing that the quincies do.

The first cour of TYBW will always remain my favorite return and essentially the presentation of Bleach. New animation, fights, visuals are simply magnificent, many times better than what was before. I really like the dark atmosphere that was present in the arc, you really believe that this is an arc of war between two factions, and not just a sparring match or a tournament. I really liked the ending and of course the battle between Ichigo and Yhwach, although it does not last that long, it looks simply phenomenal showing the balance of power. I also liked the updated soundtrack here and to some extent it is different from the past, but this does not make it bad. In general, events occur here that change your understanding of Bleach as a series. And this is not only in terms of. In different aspets. And the frank dialogue between Ichigo and his father about the secret only proves how much I like these two characters. They are one of my favorites. The ending was really cool, especially the dialogue with Zangetsu was just great. I think you'll need to take a break from this arc until the full 3 chapters are out, since 7 episodes have already been out, and it'll end at the end of the year. Can't wait for the next cour video.

I'm glad you're enjoying peak so far, TYBW anime is Kubo's original vision finally realised. Every scene feels so impactful here without censorship, and it's beautiful to watch as you can sense the full scale of this war.
Part 3 is currently about halfway done (7/13 episodes) and it's been absolutely insane, with the most added content by far. This was around when the manga started feeling rushed, so it's been amazing to see all these additions.
Bleach's comeback after all the slander has been an incredible journey and I hope it can continue.

Btw. In Cour 2, there is a whole fight near the end that was added by Kubo because in the manga it was rushed, and if I remember correctly, the fight didn't even happen there. Kubo didn't like how it was, so he changed it, and let me tell you, one change can make a great fu*king fight.

I started one piece this year for the first time and watched 1000+ episodes in 4months, currently giving it 2 years for it to build up some episodes for me to binge again. That experience reminds of the reactions you’re having watching bleach for the first time. I’m gonna have to rewatch the 1000year blood arc again. Seeing what happened to Byakuya at the beginning had me in shock, i couldn’t comprehend what i was witnessing. It was crazy because i wasn’t expecting bleach to return and go 0-100 just like that. It hits different when you had to wait YEARS…it was worth the wait!
im currently doing the same with One Piece, got to aroundd Zoro vs S-Hawk and since then i’ve been letting the episodes pile up. but yea TYBW gets straight to it, no time wasted, to me there wasnt any episode id rate less than an 8.5 in part 1

Completely agree it was the perfect end for Byakuya, and him surviving just takes the impact off of his last words. I was super disapointed reading this back then.
Also, a cool foreshadowing from Kubo, I don't know if he had that in mind back then but if you remember when Ichigo had a broken Zampakuto and he had to find his powers back from all these boxes falling in his inner world, only one was red with his shinigami powers but the rest was all white, just like the Uryu's one, makes you realize how little his shinigami powers represents compared to his Quincy side.
Zangetsu really didn't play when he told him he only gave him a fragment of his powers until then
everybody is saying that Kubo reverted his decision to let Byakuya die there after fans backlash and death threats, which is extremely upsetting. he pours his life into this manga to be treated like that. i thought his initial decision to let Byakuya die there was the right call, having him pass worrying about the same people he was trying to crush back in the Soul Society arc. oh well, at least i know the decision wasnt poor writing, but a result of fan outrage
also thank you for reminding me about the spirit ribbons, one day i remember wondering what happened to the concept of spirit ribbons because it was only introduced for those 2 specific instances. the foreshadowing is ridiculous
I think you might be misremembering about the spirit ribbons...
Unless I'm wrong I'm pretty sure the white ribbons were just what colour they normally are, unless they are a soul reaper..
There's an episode (don't remember which one) after the one where Ishida tells Ichigo about them (but before Ichigo goes into his inner world), where Ichigo tracks someone down using their spirit ribbon (which happens to be a white ribbon), even Rukia comments on how Ichigo was able to do that as it's not something easy to do.
I don't believe we even know if Quincy's ribbons are a different colour, it could be only soul reapers that have that, if so then yes, quincy ones could be white, but sobis everyone else that isn't a soul reaper.
I don't recall ever seeing anyone use or mention spirit ribbons again after those episodes at the start of the show, so I don't think they must have been that important ultimately... Or Kubo decided to just not utilise them again.

I loved that after all the years...we had a definite definition of what a zanpakuto is...its not your partner, lover, or weapon etc....its is you. To reveal that the answer was infront of us the whole time.. the same way ichigos powers were. Its so poetic....to understand and accept yourself leads your to become more powerful in bleach.
The Battle is my favorite episode. Beautifully poetic. Unohana has been my favorite captain since the beginning. You could tell she was going to be different if she ever fought, and I love the foreshadowing. She's the 2nd oldest captain next to Yamamoto. I'm mad she had to die just so Shunsui being captain could be justified. Kenpachi isn't allowed to ever die now, unless by Ichigo's hands since she gave her life for him to grow.
Kubo, the author of Bleach, is actually directing TYBW anime due to which a lot of unnecessary scenes from manga were cut out and new scenes were added which made the anime even better. The best one being at the end of TYBW part 2.
The end of part 1 gave me the most amount of goosebumps I have ever gotten!!!!!!

I was expecting Kensai and Rose to actually win against superstar and also Shinji defeat Bambi and Komamura vs Haschwalth (he would have lost to Yhwach anyways)

The TYBW really captures the gory brutality and horrors of war in a way that the other arcs only slightly looked into. It's telling how in the war's aftermath Shunsui, as part of his general reforms, abolished the previous restrictive and selective recruitment policies. Gotei 13 took heavy damage, a sharp contrast from the last conflict with Aizen and his Arrancar.

I just wanna mention that when ichigo broke out of the prison that Quincy made and got into the soul society, he used a sonido instead of a flash step to get to Byakuya, and we know this because the others feel his spiritual pressure disappearing, which really shows the culmination of his anger at that moment. Just a small detail that I really liked.
That episode with first fight with that arrancar is so underrated, the animation was gorgeous

Yeah man, nothing can really compare to the hype I had when TYBW first came out. I literally cried when the opening played out. Over a DECADE that we waited, thinking we'd never see the last arc animated, and it's THIS good along with extra bits to clear things up from the manga. I mean shit, it's legit anime movie quality animation but it's every episode 😂
Byakuya is my fav and even i thought it was silly that he somehow survived especially after the death flags
btw I thought this was a really cool fact that someone mentioned before but if you go back to ichigo's first soul reaper fight in substitute shinigami arc (beginning arc), when he fights renji and suddenly gets his massive "power-up" and has a bit of a crashout, his personality really resembles White Zangetsu in that moment so it was foreshadowed all the way back there that his soulreaper powers were derived from White and not old man zangetsu.

One of the cool things abt unohana is not only is she the first kenpachi, but that was during a time when the 13 squads were just murderers and thugs and villains. Literally the baddest of the bad. AND her shikai was still the big healing mantra ray. So she killed most people in base form. Or just went full demon blood sword bankai. Insane character. Love her.

So this was a great video, I've definitely subbed! But, when you were talking about how you really liked the scene in the Soul Society arc where Old Man Zangetsu saves Ichigo, I wanted to add some info from the manga the anime didn't expound on.
They mention in the anime that it was Quincy powers that saved Ichigo in that moment, but specifically it was how Zangetsu said "I've stopped your bleeding", which is something that the Quincy can do with Blut Vene! YES, that scene where Old Man Zangetsu saved Ichigo vs Kenpachi was my 2nd favorite moment in OG Bleach (2nd to Ichigos first Bankai) but after watching The Blade is Me that might be my favorite moment in all of Bleach so far. already an amazing moment but the foreshadowing, the fact that the truth behind Ichigos power was right in front of our faces the whole time. the writing was amazing lol and i genuinely haven't seen foreshadowing and storytelling this good since i watched AOT. its all so good lol thats all
A lot of superfluous stuff is cut from the anime and/or rearranged to make it flow better. I'd definitely recommend going back and reading the manga to pick up on the changes. While most of it is just comedic moments that were cut, there's a few explanations of things that were moved into the mid-episode cards rather than outright explained.
An example: The manga explains that Renji's Bankai, back when Byakuya destroyed a few pieces of it, never actually recovered those pieces and was weakened because of it.

But yeah Kenpachi vs Unohana was peak and is the start of one of the greatest plot twists in Bleach. There's tons of characters im hoping to see more out of (Soi Fon being one of them)
i loved how much care they put into TYBW, it was evident from the first episode. from the ending to even using unique title cards which i was afraid they would get rid of considering TYBW is more serious in nature, but they even managed to fit that in which gives Bleach and the individual episodes personality. the last episode in specific was genuinely one of the anime episodes with the most love and care put into it ive ever seen and i know its only up from here. also i will make sure to do a list of my favorite Sternritters when they start to get some more screentime

despite the pure energy, hype, and quality that the fights had, the everything but the rain and blade is me episodes r considered one of the most beautifully crafted and written episodes of all time imo. issuing and mask's backstory was like a love poem, and ichigo's self discovery brought and fulfilled his character development. 100/10 show

Now that you’ve watched cour 1, go back through your old videos again and see how many clues were laid through the earlier arcs. Like in the video, Ichigo’s background. Kenpachi’s fights. Zangetsu’s true identity. That and so much more. If anything, I would heavily recommend rewatching the first episode of Bleach again. Why can Ichigo see hollows? His dad may be a soul reaper, but he himself isn’t a soul reaper. Think about Rukia’s reaction to Ichigo. It’s all there.
Honestly, the final scene of the two swords turning into reishi and just vanishing is peak cinema, in the fake karakura town, aizen considered the binding chain with zangetsu to be a true connection, and also consider his own sword straight shattering to be "becoming one" and that "hogyoku doesn't doesn't see kyoka suigetsu as necessary anymore"
But here, for the first time, a shinigami just, absorbs the sword back into them, rather than sealing it, there is no seperate sword, Zangetsu is a part of ichigo, a part of ichigo that takes shape as it is, and not as a sealed sword
Like think about it, there exists no other shinigami, not even ichibe, who walks around without a sword
But Ichigo truly is one with the sword, it's an extension of him
Kepachi was also confirmed as a special threat in his fight with yhwach/royd
It took me so long to realise that during Spul Society and his first few times, Getsuga Tensho was blue, based on his Quincy powers, then later down the line like Fake Karakura Town, it becomes orange, from his Shinigami powers

The quincy names all being German has made them impossible for me to say so i get it. As an OG Bleach fan I have to say this wait has been worth it. I haven't watched anime for years but TYBW has me pulled back in like my college days. Thank you for watching and sharing your feelings. Bleach is finally getting the love it always deserved. Cour 2 personally blew me away too so excited about that.

I would highly recommend reading through the manga after you finish cour 2 simply to see how amazing all the new content has been and how well the anime team and Kubo have been doing with new scenes and how Kubo wanted everything to pan out but couldn’t due to his injury. Then again it’s also great to see how he always wanted it to be originally first. Either way definitely read the manga to see the colossal difference especially for cour 3 and I’ll assume cour 4 as well.
This arc is THE ANIME ARC Everything is great the pacing the fights the animation the ost the characters etc...
One of the coolest things I noticed when rewatching bleach is that when Aizen was talking to Ichigo in the arrancar arc, he was telling him that he was part human but gets interrupted. At the time you think he was gonna follow with half hollow, but now we know he meant half Quincy
byakuya asking ichigo for help is one of my most fav moments too in cour1 because we know that byakuya is one of the most prideful captain in bleach and to ask ichigo who he sees as not a real shinigami a nomal human civilian nonetheless to protect not just renji or rukia but the whole soul society was just a lot of character development its so peak man
my top 3 moments are the blade is me the battle of the kenpachis and this.

24:45 Old man Zangetsu isnt exactly "gone". He just decided to stop suppressing the hollow powers. Thats why he dual weilds in his soul reaper form. Big blade symbolises the Soul Reaper /hollow powers & the smaller one symbolises his quincy powers.
Here's a suggestion for once you run out of Bleach material to read/watch:
Bleach pilot chapter: Pilot chapters are usually what authors submit to get their stories serialized. It might surprise you how different it is, like Rukia is the size of a doll that Ichigo carries around in his pocket, Orihime literally dies and was murdered by her father (in a creepier, more possessive version before it got refined to her brother Sora's story), etc.
Bleach Jump Festa OVA - like a pilot episode, I think this was made before the actual anime was started and it's a 45 minute version of the Grandfisher arc without the extra filler shinigami brought in.
Zombie Powder - Kubo's serialized work before Bleach that was canceled after 4 volumes. It's very raw and edgy but you can check out the concepts/ideas he's been toying with even before Bleach.
Burn the Witch - technically an expansion/offshoot from the Bleach universe of UK's version of Soul Society. Kubo seems to have written the story to entertain his kids, but don't quote me on that. My sister was so mad when we finished it coz she wanted more 😂.
There is also the Bleach Hell Arc oneshot (post epilogue).
