Her voice! Smoky, just a little bit jagged and totally mesmerizing. One of the truly talented who could go out on a bare stage, read a telephone book and it would be riveting!

thank you for doing this video. I have admired Wanamaker's acting for years. I love finding out more about her. I live in the U.S. so I haven't gotten to see her acting as much as I would have liked. She was gorgeous as Amanda Wingfield in a production many years ago of THE GLASS MENAGERIE on the west end-that I was lucky enough to see. The set was blue brick walls and fire escapes. it was a marvelous production. I have seen THE GLASS MENAGERIE onstage many times with many very good actresses. Zoe Wanamaker was much the best Amanda I have ever seen. She was glorious. I love that she was able to thrive in the British theatre. Lucky for the rest of us!

Thank you for this profile of Zoe. Whenever she appears on my screen, I know I'll enjoy whatever she's serving. I did not know of her American and acting family roots. I'm glad she decided to make her career in England. I feel like the British film and stage are more forgiving of unusual or non-conforming looks. I saw a video recently about why so many women think they are "ugly" or "masculine" looking, and basically, it mainly came down to them looking a lot like their fathers. Zoe, you're not ugly. You just look like your beloved father.

It's just her quirkiness that rivets me. Actors that fill the character parts are like short stories; saturated with message in a contained format making them unforgettable.

Hi Marina! just watched yr video it's really an interesting & enjoyable montage, Thanks.
...but was left wondering why you hadn't mentioned Zoe's role in the TV 📺 series Rosemary & Thyme??!? 😆🤣
So I googled it and was shocked 😲 that it is a completely different British actress in that role.
Felicity Kendall she is a doppleganger for Zoe Wanamaker even the way they speak, IMO. ✨WOW!✨
Honestly I thought they were one and the same person, now I know you didn't mention it in this video because it wasn't Zoe's role! 🎬📽️😊

I've always liked Zoe Wanamaker, finding her compelling and challenging. A strong, no nonsense and highly individual force. Her unique, crooked smile and riveting eyes darting back and forth have made her someone I couldn't take my eyes off of. Must have first seen her in Paradise Postponed and then, happily, so much else including the first Prime Suspect as our killer's unknowing wife - wow ! Wanamaker and Suchet play off each other superbly and I'm thankful for her casting as Mrs. Oliver. Well, you've covered it so well Marina. Thank you for a comprehensive overview. It was a happy day when the Wanamakers came to the UK. America's loss, our gain.

Excellent actress with unique look and charisma. I don’t bother famous people when I see them out and about, and despise people who do. But I would have to really hold myself together not to break my own rule if I ever spotted her 🤭

I have a whole 40-minute long video video about her. I do get your idea, however - she was marvellously beautiful, no doubt, yet, somehow, producers at the time didn't perceive her as a lead actress when she was young

Thanks muchly for this loving, -rightly so, homage to this remarkable & highly talented actress. I must embarrassingly admit that before your video, i was obtusely ignorant of the fact that her father was Sam Wannamaker. I was fully aware of both of them for ages, but had never made the connection, or seen any reference to it. It might be from my thinking of Zoe as totally British & Sam as definitely from the USA.
Another area of ignorance on my part is Sam's involvement in the reconstruction of the Globe Theatre. I knew of the project long ago, but had it in my head that it was the British actor Edward Fox who was at the forefront of the project. Turns out i must have confused it with a theater restoration project he helped by campaigning for funds. It was a hundred years old theater called the Royal Hall which his great grandfather was one of the leading benefactors behind originally building it.
Anyway, thanks again for such an interesting & well presented portrait of, as you said, a beloved actress.
    ✌💜 from Canada.

Thank you for bringing me some much needed insight on this illusive actress that I love seeing on screen. Especially the British work that I love so dear. Poirot and other mysteries . I have always loved her face , she is like a sweet little creature from the world of elves and fairies. When you can look that cool , who wants to look like a plain human. There will always be a warm spot in my heart for this talented actress. ❤❤❤
