Deonte Kennedy has been showing that he can compete with the GOATs, and the program he has is showing the passion he and they have. @@ScreamDemon2010Craigmont got blew out by karr and carver and almost every Nola HS band since yall started marching down here buddy.. when are yall gonna learn 🤣
@@cuttaboyjayN.O. Bands could learn a lot from Craigmont. Their arrangements are nice. They are just planting their feet and over blowing. Dynamics, intonation, and just hitting the right notes are still important.
Don’t care what nobody say about craigmont I’m going to always give this group their flowers. Both groups sound good I don’t have an overall winner tho
I feel like craigmont got the edge they have a battle playlist that versatile and compared to what I see out of New Orleans in this case I finally heard a decent response to clouds but where are the ballads New Orleans all I hear is marching tempo songs and rap it starts to sound the same …but the bands sound amazing this year fasho drive and the pressure y’all putting on the band world New Orleans kids are some dawgs and I can’t wait for the summer 💯‼️
The battles are not really long so we always tried steer away from ballads during parade season. Most songs are usually powerful or uptempo. That’s just the history since been.
Carver got the slight edge because craigmont arrangements was good but sloppy still good battle , carver on the other hand French getting them right the got the W especially with flowers but they also have good tongue and arrangements so carver got the W🧡💚
BOTH bands did an AMAZING job 4 sure!!! Best battle this Mardi Gras season........my favorites were CARVER'S "Flowers" and OF COURSE, CRAIGMONT'S "Water." Geesh!!!!!!!!
Craigmont with the W arrangements were sick… carver had amazing power both bands executed well. I love criagmont tubas and carver had great high brass. But criagmont arrangement where sweet af and them kids are gonna be prepared to go to any school and be the best there with the prep they’re getting with these arrangements
Seems like Craigmont had more finesse and Carver was more on power. Craigmont's versatility is obvious and I think they played more complex arrangements too. It was nice to hear some different songs for a change down here. I'm betting that they probably have a deep book. I expect most everyone will be biased with their picks based on pride and because that's just how it happens in these social media spaces. But if we're being honest Craigmont sounded good and brought something different to the table instead of the same old retread songs we hear over and over down here and that was refreshing. Carver was good doing their thing too but again it seems like they are limited in selections if we are being honest. Like they ran out of new material. I know that Carver folks will say that if they play Mary Had A Little Lamb clean as a whistle they should get credit for that so I won't even argue the depth in book point again. They were in that safe zone again as they tend to do and it is what it is. But overall nice battle. As always it will come down to preference. Props to both bands.
Craigmount I've been coming to Two new orleans for the past several years With outstanding Arrangements on there Aplus game "Sorry" boy not this year We caught on . This Mardi gras season Actually showcases musicianship and younger talent This is the year of middle school and high school Musician is born here........ From the time that you take You take your first breath of air......
Deonte is funny and entertaining to watch in heated battles 😂😂😂😂😂 But he’s a dam good band director! Gotta give dude his props 💯👌🏾🙏🏾 But I got Carver winning this one. Craigmont had some fire arrangements, Carver’s execution and blend is just better 🤷🏾♂️🔥
Carver with the W. But Great Job from both groups. They were just overall cleaner. And more powerful. Craigmont wasn’t as clean as they were against Abe. Too many “bad” hangovers, trumpets missing and b-tones have bad attack and releases at times missing consistently. Craigmont Tubas and bones sound amazing though. Mellos are good too. Trumpets are a good group but had a bad performance. Carver Tubas are obviously their weak link. And everything else sounds amazing. I heard no missing with their screamers like Craigmont, no bad hangovers. B-Tone section sounds like one big b-tone. Mellos are solid. Bones sound good.
You’ve always been biased If it’s a NOLA band against an out of town band, you always nitpick what the out of town band but don’t do the same for NOLA band. Carver’s Water arrangement was of no comparison to Craigmonts Water arrangement. Your opinion actually sucks every time you give it so please stop.
@@Nahakukineare the other 6+ also biased? 🤣 When two bands are battling that are fairly close to each other in quality the only way to determine a winner IS to nitpick the mistakes. At this level the only way to determine a winner is to see who has the most mistakes.
The other 6 are biased too. Y’all NOLA folk don’t like taking L’s from out of town bands. Y’all summer band took an L and yall couldn’t accept it. It’s no different here, especially since one of the directors that gave you the L this summer is also the director that’s handing L’s during Mardi Gras season. Y’all make excuses all day long. Also Carver ran after 5 rounds. They weren’t jumping in the parade. They were out of steam and book. They battled St. Aug for 2 rounds and turned towards us, realizing they was out their depth as far as going at least 10 rounds with a beast like Craigmont. They’re so fortunate to have die hard fans like you to give them excuses for not being able to push forward against a real winning band. They knew they were losing, that’s why they ran. Y’all just mad that the hype of Craigmont was real and yall just didn’t have an answer for anything they threw at yall. Example: Carver’s Water arrangement was poo Craigmonts Water arrangement was far more superior due to actually having woodwinds to balance out the arrangement into a great hit. Carver has no woodwinds because the director doesn’t know how to utilize them in any arrangement. That’s why his Water arrangement failed horribly against ours. It’s sounds good to you NOLA folk just having straight power and that’s it but Craigmont got power and balance and you just didn’t have answers for it. So take this L and try again next year. Hell, since you so smart, why don’t you go help them be better. That way when they take an L next year, you’ll have no excuses.
I feel it was a tie because each band showcased what they do best, shoutout to both band directors for a job well done. Sometimes there's no actual winner. This was a very respectful challenge between two outstanding Titans, this is one of the best battles I have seen in years.
