A flashlight. When you're deep in low light areas it's better to have a flashlight, phone lights cannot suffice-- they are dim and inconvenient to angle in smaller areas.
Linesman are a must for me. Higher leverage cutting, bashing, grabbing, holding, twisting, splicing, reaming conduit, grabbing fish tapes, setting locknuts with a screw driver, opening up and closing live joints... use mine all day every day.
Commercial/ Industrial Electrician. I have the exact same setup as you. I laughed when you displayed the little yellow Klein strippers. They have been my favorite from the beginning. I also have the Knipex Forged strippers. They are very good but im more fluid with Kleins. Ill carry the knipex if I expect screw cutting. I also carry my linemans with me at all times.
I got some insulated keys from Laoa- the wonderful look feel and function. For VDE thousand volt rated. I would also say that Locknut wrenches are pretty useful , take up very little space in your bag, usually come in set of three. UnArguably, a set of 10 inch Knipex cobra pliers, and 10.5 Knipex plier wrench replace entire wrench sets
You’re right on the money with the wire strippers. The closer the holes are to your hand the easier is it to strip. I got an ideal wire stripper that’s small and has a sort of thumb grip groove on it, they are the shit
Just had an electrician come to my home, because my main breaker was buzzing & wouldn’t turn on, it would only go to tripped mode. He managed to get it to go to the on position & said, “It’s fine.” He, also, tightened the breaker screws so hard that plastic pieces started snapping off of the breakers as the post of the screwdriver made contact with the casing. He said, “That’s no big deal & it’s fine.” Guess it’s time to add insulated & torque screwdrivers to my amateur collection & call another electrician
I hope that your hands, etc., are mostly back to as close to normal as possible ! I was an industrial electrical and instrumentation technician for over 40 years, and I had close calls several times. Had the H shocked out of me Many times. I sincerely hope that you Never have to go through that again!! Be safe, Brother !!😅
The fluke meters all have batterys I suggest changing them every 6 months or so depending how much it gets used. If you start to get wonky readings check the batterys.
Wow, we have all the same tools, except one. And, I put the NCT hot stick at the top of my list for homeowners - and to test it, I rub it on my clothes, it senses static electricity! The tool I have that you don't is a miners wrench: big 10" adjustable that has a striking face to use as a hammer. You can also get them with a 7/8" ratchet wrench in the handle which is pretty handy.
Live-Dead-Live Fluke Proving Unit PRV240FS will save you with a tick tracer or meter. Don’t need it in your bag, but good to keep in the truck to bring out for testing.
Channellocks before linesman is insanity, guess it depends what you're doing daily, but a good list otherwise. Recommend knipex insulated, with the big goofy pommels
The # 1 tool is your brain but i love my knipex hybrid striper pliers i like to run a small compact pouch with the hybrid pliers tape mesure and electric tape pencil sharpie knife 2 screw drivers i keep my impact on belt and if i need channals i swap out something but i keep my packout near with power tools and parts also keep my rolling cart near when i can with my other tool bag that has my meter and rest of hand tools on cart or hanging from botom of panal
Thank you for the recommendations. I've been looking for the toolbelt and the suspenders, and the multimeter is also going to be a nice pickup. d(◕ᴗ◕✿)
That’s a really good point. I should’ve used a different term. What I should’ve said is the grips are much beefier than the other pair that Klein makes. Just looked in their catalog and they are not insulated up to 1000 V. I have, however, cut many hotwires with them as well as the yellow handled strippers, and I’ve never been shocked. I do believe they provide a minimal amount of voltage insulation.

Might replace the kleins with a pair of Cobolts for cutting nails.
BEST Electrical Multi-Meter that I use everyday!

Can you think of any more important tools to have in your tool bags?

Makes sense. They’re an all around great tool!

Knipex lineman pliers are fantastic!!! Absolutely love them
They are really good for sure!

I’ll have to check those out! I love locknut wrenches and absolutely the Knipex cobra pliers are the best!
I think lineman’s pliers are a must they are hammer stripper and fish tape pulling
Makes sense. I like them a lot, just stopped carrying them cause I found dikes worked for pretty much everything except for what you mentioned.

Completely agree!

It’s fine…temporarily
Linesman pliers are an essential tool, only time I ever use my diagonals is to make a close cut.

I got the t6-1000 because of the Light up just in case it’s dark and too much noise to read the continuity
That’s a good tip! I’ll check that one out!

Good point. Thanks! I’ll have to check out the knipex insulated.
Not needing linesman in bag at all times sounds like homie must only work with conduit and stranded wire.
Always lineman’s pilers

Yes you do for splicing and your wasting time walking back and fourth to get a tool that should be on you
Makes sense. I’m glad they work for you!
I thought you were going to say that the #1 tool is your brain. :) Glad you didn't. That sort of thing is cheesy.

"Knapex"...
Yep, that’s what they call them around here. Learned the correct pronunciation after I posted the video. Sorry about that!
