I'll give credit where it's due, Cassidy was one of the first to make punchlines easily digestible. Problem is after awhile it gets stale and we can see the punchlines coming a mile away and he never evolved from that. If y'all watch battle rap at all Rum Nitty is the evolution of what cass was doing in his early years in my opinion.
