Here's a little low down on the use of parabens in cosmetics. I am no expert but I would rather approach with caution. But alas it is up to you to determine whether or not you want to try these out.
They are decent products but you get what you pay for here....

In the 1990s, parabens were deemed xenoestrogens―agents that mimic estrogen in the body. “Estrogen disruption” has been linked to breast cancer and reproductive issues. And in 2004 British cancer researcher Philippa Darbre, Ph.D., found parabens present in malignant breast tumors. As a result, experts in many countries are recommending limits on paraben levels in cosmetic products. What’s more, watchdog organizations worry that if parabens can be stored in the body, over time they could have a cumulative effect and pose a health risk.
Most of the available paraben toxicity data are from single-exposure studies. Further assessment of the additive and cumulative risk of multiple paraben exposure from daily use of multiple cosmetic and/or personal care products is needed.
The mainstream cosmetic industry believes that parabens, like most cosmetic ingredients, are safe based on their long term use and safety record and recent scientific studies. Public interest organizations which raise awareness about cosmetic ingredients believe that further research is necessary to determine the safety of parabens, under the precautionary principle. The concerns about endocrine disruptors have led consumers and companies to search for paraben-free alternatives.

However I must say that I own all of these as well as most every other high end palette on the market and I live these shadows. I totally agree. I was excited about the 35O because of YT but it was NOT worth the hype!! The individual shadows however are AWESOME! I highly recommend the individual shadows over palettes any day of the week.

Tina you are right we have to be careful in our choices. I watched a documentary called "The True Cost" I believe...it changed my way of thinking when buying products and clothing...some conditions employees work in are dangerous and while we jump to buy items we as people rarely think about the foundation in which the product or item was developed.
I love your honesty. It's so nice being able to come over to your channel and compare your reviews and opinions to the one opinion everyone else seems to have about a lot of products. Also, I LOVE that you swatch with a brush. Finger swatches are fine but I feel like brush swatches give you a way more realistic idea of how the product is going to appear when you actually work with it.
This video really made me realise that I need to start paying more attention to these makeup products that I'm putting on my skin, I'm the type that will just purchase and use without doing research espeacially when it come to makeup. I have several of these palettes and I just ordered more because I for one love them so much I thought they were amazing for the price. But when you started to talk about the parabens my mouth just drop to the floor it is not worth the risk! Thanks for this video I always enjoy your review because you go in, mi luv it! I know! The shades are beautiful and pigmentation is so amazing but the ingredients make me cringe. I'm shocked that Jaclyn Hill hyped up Morphe when she's all about skin care and now everyone's going crazy without checking the ingredients. :( UGH so sad and upsetting.

I love your reviews! I can never tell you enough! You cover every single thing that comes to my mind. I will stay away from morphe palettes. I don't order cheap makeup products from China because I've read an article speaking about their lax rules with cosmetics AND fragrances. But I never took the time to research where morphe was manufactured. Thank you for saving me 20$ 😁

I own only 1 Morphe palette and I will never buy another. After swatching the shadows I took the palette apart and kept only the best shades in a Zpalette. About half of them were useless so they were tossed.
Thank you finally someone with out a morphe code has done a review I am always skeptical of you tubers with "discount codes". Even though I'm just starting with eye make up I always trust the brands you recommend no matter the price is I'd rather get something nice that I will use than have something cheap and be thinking about how many tubes of lipstick I could have purchased instead (I'm a lip junkie) . I was thinking about buying the 35s because of the colors but when you broke down the paraben situation it made me rethink my decision because I'm not willing to take that chance either, I figured I'll just invest in a makeup geek palette. I do have the E1 brush and love it so much that I do want more from that collection. I'm just now really starting to wear eyeshadow and I didn't want to spend alot on other brands. years ago I was all aboit the Mac bright colors and now I never use them. now I will be giving all my products the side eye! thank you for your honest review

I definitely appreciate your honesty. So many YTs push products that may not be healthy for our skin. Some of us are pretty new to various makeup and do not pay attention to the ingredients. I watch parabens for my hair and skin care but never thought to look at the cosmetics that I put on my skin. So please continue to be honest with your viewers. I do appreciate it.

Ugh, I bought one palate and tried to use it once and gave it away. It sucked. Blending was a nightmare and the shadows just pulled my eyelid skin back and forth and didn't blend. I am so tired of TH-camrs going on and on about how great these shadows are and how pigmented and wonderful they are. I knew it was too good to be true.

+Danee Kaplan i love the 35o palette, i don't have any problems with it. i just think different strokes for different folks. if someone likes something you don't it does'nt mean they are lying about the product it just means your taste is different from that person. i'm sure there are products you love that people think are trash.
+DaddysDarling84 l didn't get the 350 palette- it was 35T-so maybe that one is better idk. I only own MAC, Kevin Aucoin, YSL, MUF, Too Faced, and Urban Decay shadows and Compared to those brands the Morphe just didn't perform for me at anywhere near the same level. They didn't blend and they didn't have anywhere near the color payoff. For me the price isn't worth it when I can buy other shadows that work better and if there are paragons and other questionable chemicals added, even more reason to not use them.
Thank you for the indepth Review. Finally (!) someone talking about ingredients. Parabens and paraffinum or mineral oil isn't the cocktail I prefer on my skin. For fairness one should mention that even some very expensive brands have quite alarming ingredients. So the more we care the more companies will improve their stuff.
I agree with you on the fact that expensive brands do the same thing. I will believe it has to do with the colors and how they apply to the skin to get the pay off. I'm sure that's why they have to change formulas to get the product to perform. Because, honestly Make up forever's shadows dry out too quickly. Some of their colors aren't creamy enough, or rich enough....not for that price. So to me they are made cheaply. But, it is what it is.

Yes, all of it has to do with profit, because they really don't want to put in the expense to create a truly fine product. I have been playing around with Kryolan eyeshadows and they are much better in my opinion. They are micro processed and feel so, so good on the skin, but they are not as pigmented, so you have to use a base to get the true color to show. But, by far these are the best as far as texture and durability. If a person has oily lids...fine, micro shadows may not work well for them.

It is true a lot of our makeup these days are cheaply made with tons of things that aren't good for our skin, so you def have to take that into consideration when purchasing and using makeup! I own a bh cosmetics palette and beauty treats palette... both pretty much the same. I have morphes palettes on the way not because I jumped on some hype wagon but because I wanted to review them myself on my channel and give my viewers a full honest option considering I purchase all my products myself! It's like the urban decay electric palette was so hyped up but I didn't see spending $49 on a few shadow palette I found a complete dupe for it at rue 21 the rue21 electric palette but most wouldn't even know to look for something similar when they just get pumped up by a TH-camr who is probably being paid! I agree just take care of your skin and use cheap makeup with caution ppl! thank you for the great video tina!

Thank you for your review. Very eye opening. I am new to make up and safety is not something I ever thought about before watching this video. Funny, I am very careful about what I put in my body as far as food. I completely changed the way I eat for health purposes, changed the products I use for cooking, avoid plastics, and other things that are potentially dangerous. I probably spend more money on food than most, but I'd rather pay for quality than quantity. I will do the same with make up. Thank you.
When I looked up Morphe's ingredients, I was surprised. I noticed that they also use mineral oil! That was enough to stop me from buying! I have some cheap eyeshadow palettes that I love from Wet N Wild and Elf, but even those companies don't use as cheap/bad of ingredients. When I heard beauty gurus going on and on about how great these are, coupled with what I knew about the ingredients... something wasn't adding up. I think maybe some gurus think that these eyeshadows are good considering how cheap they are? Maybe that's how they justify peddling stuff like this? Either way, thanks so much for your honesty!

Appreciate your thorough and factual review on these products. So often, people run to purchase these high trendy products because they see someone on TH-cam give it a thumbs up. But at the end of the day, you have to be accountable for yourself and do you own research on what is safe. Those carcinogenic ingredients are not worth the use. Thanks for sharing some truth.
Their customer service is horrible as well I ordered a Jeffree star liquid lipstick because the shipping is cheaper on their site. They sent me my items with no invoice, no bubblewrap, product was out of the box I let them know and they were very smug. Once I saw what's in their eye shadows I had no desire to purchase these bigger youtubers hype them up because they are getting them for free. They promote Gerard cosmetics which another shady company who insults customers
+redlipstick_rebelle to be honest, I don't purchase from these indie brands. They have no integrity regard for their customers. It's just about the monies. Which is why I stick to online retailers like Sephora, Nordstrom (good customer service and policies), Bobbi brown, Mac, NARS. More well known, long standing companies.
Yeah I agree those companies will be quick to fix any issues. Although I do like some indie brands I keep it a minimum.

Coloured raine is vegan and cruelty free I like some of the lippes. Makeup monsters is one of my favorites for the color selection but their closed right now for the holidays check out the IG page also vegan and handmade

I have the 35o and the 35t, they both perform exceptionally well, all of the colors in both palettes are great, pigmented, color payoff and longevity is amazing, this is just my humble opinion as a person who own almost every eyeshadow palette that's out there, totally worth all the hype, they completely blew me away

I thought I was the only one... I think for the price they are great and very pigmented. And they put the ingredients on the box so it's really up to us if we want to buy it or not. But there was no need to trash the brand the way she did. It's just my personal opinion...
How is she trashing the brand? She was respectable and gave an honest opinion unlike these youtubers who get it sent to them for free, she explained the harmful effects of parabens but also said try them out if you want to. She's a consumer speaking up. You might as well increase your intake on sugar, salt, and gmos while you're at it. It's a shame how ignorant and in denial folks are when it comes to products

lawd. You know I said that I was going to wait on purchasing anything from morphe. Then when the 2nd release of the 35o palette came out I saw the hype and swatches, videos, discount codes etc and I caved and bought it. Now I am watching this review and went to check the ingredients and my heart sank look how I just did "a monkey see monkey do". Thank you as always for your thorough and honest review. Its a shame that some of these other youtubers don't care about their or others safety
Thank you so much for this review. I do own several of these palette that I bought for gifts, and a few for myself...BEFORE I found out they were from China! Parabens aside, because you would need to ingest a serious amount before reaching a toxicity level. But certainly minimizing how much you use is very important. I worry more about moisturizers, cleansers, etc. because those are directly soaked in by your skin. But my greatest concern is that now I have to find out if these are tested on animals! Thanks for your honest review on these palettes.. It's overly hyped up on social media and I haven't heard anyone speak the honest truth and as much as I like makeup I love my health even more that's why I only buy cruelty free and products that contain no harsh ingredients/chemicals that'll affect my skin later on down the line.. I didn't realize the potential dangers of parabens in beauty products - I heard about them in hair products but didn't make a connection to other products. I only bought one morphe palette so maybe I should stop there. I looked at my new BH Cosmetics purchases and found they don't use parabens in their products (or at least the ones I bought). I guess when looking for low cost alternatives I will stick with BH. Thanks for the video, I will be taking a close look at my cosmetics.

I think for a more cost effective alternative to higher end eyeshadow palettes, the drugstore brands are a great way to explore without breaking one's bank account. The Maybelline 24 hr Color Tattoo eyeshadows are incredibly long lasting with great color pay off. The Wet n Wild eye shadow mini eye shadow palettes are also another alternative with great color opacity and long lasting. They're also really inexpensive. At least, with the drugstore brands, they will take responsibility for their products, own their own manufacturing companies/factories and often made in USA or in Europe where as you mentioned in the video, they have stringent manufacturing regulations and have much higher standards.While there are 35 colors in the Morphe eyeshadow palettes with a $23 price tag (more or less), what's the point of paying so much if there are no color pay off for the matte colors and the only other color choices are the shimmery/metallic shades?

Tell 'em, Tina. For the price the eyeshadows are fine, but it's not the end all be all even for inexpensive palettes. Definitely not if mid tier or luxury brands are thrown in the mix. Honestly if Morphe didn't have an affiliate program, would YT gurus even be using them in their videos, considering they have Marc Jacobs, UD, Kat Von D, and MUFE sending them things they could use (minus the affiliate code)? Maybe, maybe not. It's food for thought. Great video Tina, looking forward to your ABH review!

OMG as usual Tina you amaze me with your intelligence and wit this video was one of the most informative and sensible videos I've seen I usually just purchase my products from sephora and Ulta and I'm a big morphe fan thank god I only have one of their palettes I was thinking about buying more. Hi there! I had the same opinion on parabens but then I saw the high end brands use them too. Like Chanel. There are 3 types of parabens in Soleil tan de Chanel. I have a dermato cosmetic brand face cream that also contains parabens and their website states that short string parabens are not harmful. I dunno what to think except that many times we are victims of information that we cannot verify.
+Cristina Stoia I don't accept the use of parabens just because high end brands use them as well. As I said in the video it is up to you whether you want to take the risk. I would rather not take the risk or at the very least try to limit my exposure. I am sure that any brand will claim that their ingredients are not harmful but alas we do not know for sure the long term effects. Limited studies show that parabens act as xenoestrogens and proliferate breast cancer cells. That is enough for me to watch out.
+thefancyfaced Look Im not trying to debate the risk that parabens are to one's health. I have the same opinion for most parts and Im certainly not a scientist. in fact seeing your video yesterday was one of the reasons I cancelled my order from morphe brushes. But one should be aware that xenoestrogens are found in food , clothes, plastic bottles, etc. We live in a toxic environment and this is the price we pay for comfort. We cant avoid it all coz it would mean not eating or breathing through masks and maybe the parabens in cosmetics are just a drop in the ocean of harmful things we are exposed to. Im just saying, dont take it personal.
+Cristina Stoia No no no no! You read my comment wrong. It was not defensive at all and I don't take most comments personal. I was saying that I would rather avoid parabens when I can like when it is listed in ingredients. We obviously can't stay away 100% but I would rather limit it as best as I can when I can. Do you know what I mean? If it means not using these palettes then that much I can do. I hope that makes sense.

I was surprised to see you reviewing those palettes! Love your honesty regarding the whole product and your point on the ingredients.
To me, buying make up is a sort of investment. It has to have decent ingredients (like so many said, why take the risk?), good performance (not really interested if only half of a palette performs good... wast of space), nice looking/practical (since I keep it so long), etc. I'd rather buy less in quantity and spend more on a single item.

+Marie-Estelle Bruman I surprised myself. I truly picked them up because a lot of people were asking for my thoughts.....and since I was in California anyway I just went to the store. I agree that makeup is an investment - as it should be. Although I buy way more than the average makeup user.....TH-cam is my excuse for some of these purchases I wouldn't have made personally.

I wore my matte shadows from the 35 O last week for around 12 hours and they didn't fade or crease or anything. ...Ik you don't like them but I feel like your opinion on the ingredients had slightly influenced your view on the staying power. the quality of ingredients is not there but I feel like ur saying the staying power is mediocre so ppl wouldn't buy them
+Marissa T I never said I don't like them. And I also never said they creased. I noticed fading around the 5-6 hour mark with the mattes....as I said in the video. They are mediocre compared to other eyeshadows I have tried. Nothing is wrong with mediocrity. But I will not lie and say these are the best thing on the market. I am guessing you wanted me to say they are great....which they are not. They are simply decent eyeshadows as I said in the video.
