    Also, when these manufacturers measure the turbo output, they base it on the coldest CCT version of the light. So the 5000K here isn't going to be as bright.
    It would certainly be nice if they would give ratings for each CCT, but they don't. Higher lumens on the box means better sales, and they know it.

    This is why I love Acebeam so much. Their drivers are top notch across their entire lineup of lights. I'd argue from top to bottom on every light a brand offers, Acebeam is the best at giving you the most efficient driver powering any offering they have. Doesn't matter if it's the X75, K75, W35, E75, L19.2, L35.2, M1, and now the L16.2. You know you're getting the best performing driver you can buy powering these particular emitters when you get an Acebeam light. It's just icing on the cake that Acebeam gives this light the same UI from the L35/L19, arguably the best dual-switch UI on the market. I love the L16.2...

      Except for their lights that have shitty drivers.
      Like the rider Rx, pokelit, tac aa.
      Their dual fuel 14500/Nimh lights have typical poor regulation for 14500.
      Also a poor UI on those lights with mode memory and forward clicky switches.
      Especially annoying is the way they decide to label lights with mode memory and no turbo shortcut as tactical lights, like the T35, tac aa, and also the horrible UI on the p16.
      I like several acebeam products but they also have some huge flaws and inconsistency on certain models.

    I know you don't really use or carry tactical lights but im curious how they compare to you?

    • @cheule

      Both lights are excellent. I would lean L16 V2 for beam quality and tint. I would lean T12 for flat runtime and passive cooling.
      One last thing, the T12’s three UIs are very “tactical.” I have no need for tac gear, so I personally lean L16 V2.

    Hello, I want to buy a flashlight to scan the area for security before sleeping in tent camps and caravan activities. To protect from wild animals, malicious and drunk people. I decided on the Konvoy L7 SBT90.2 flashlight but I wanted to consult you before buying it. Do you think I should buy it or can you recommend me another brand model that is very successful with my long range?
    In addition, I have never seen a review on your channel, everyone suggested me to buy a ledlenser mt14 for use in camps and daily life. I am a family of 4. I have 2 daughters and 1 wife. I want to buy 1 flashlight for everyone including myself. I want it to be in our bags and pockets except for my long range. Do you think I should buy a ledlenser mt14 or do you recommend another flashlight instead? Or do you think I should buy an edc flashlight for daily life?

      The Convoy L7 SBT90.2 is a heck of a light. It will put out a ton of light and run very hot on turbo modes.
      In general use, I like SFT40 based flashlights more than SBT90.2. The SBT90.2 is a brighter emitter, but it consumes battery much faster and generates a lot of heat.
      A Convoy M21B with SFT40 is about $28 and what is recommend.

      That understandable. However as of late I’ve found I prefer 5000k so much more than 6500k that I’ll take the perhaps 8-10% loss of lumens. In this particular case, the fact the emitter is 4500 k on lower levels is super great!

    It’s so big though. I love my Nightcore MT2A Pro because the throw is just crazy for such a skinny little thing but it’s problem as it doesn’t have any moonlight modes or anything. It’s purely tactical. If it had some moonlight mode, that thing would be just amazing for my use case scenario.

    • @cheule
      @cheule  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I just picked up a weltool T1 Pro. And I feel you on that comment, it’s a really small flashlight with insane throw. But then I compare it against the 21700s, and it pales in comparison.

    • @StarDarkAshes
      @StarDarkAshes 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@cheule I believe you. I’m still looking for the “perfect” flashlight for walking at night. I want a tactical thrower (just in case a very unlikely scenario happens) but also is easily carried so not too thick or long but also has a moonlight mode and basic output, rather than a blast of lumens. I still haven’t tried the Nitecore EDC33 But I think that one might be a bit too large in thickness for what I really want. Lately I’ve been carrying the. Wuben T4 as well as a smaller flashlight for basic illumination. I also have a new flat Lumintop That has both tactical as well as basic illumination, but for some reason, I just prefer the form factor as far as the thickness and being able to hold comfortably that the MT2A Pro has but it’s only a “blast thrower”. I have lots of flashlights and I just keep switching them out. Eventually, I’ll find the perfect one.🤣

    • @hakansalihoglu
      @hakansalihoglu 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@StarDarkAshes If an aggressive dog comes across you during your night walks, you can neutralize it by creating temporary blindness. For this, you need a minimum 3000 lumen flashlight. Or if a wild animal comes across you, you can use your flashlight for the same purpose. This is valid not only for wild animals but also for a malicious person or a drunk person. Low lumen means long battery life and is mostly used in emergencies. Examples of situations that require charging or natural disasters such as earthquakes can be given for moonlight mode. I like Nitecore lights but the lights themselves have shortcomings. For example, while the edc 35 is a great light, its battery cannot be changed. If the battery could be changed, it could be an edc that can be used forever and a great camping light. Although it says 500-550 meters, its effective lighting areas are 200-250 meters. I think this is a sufficient rate for a person walking in nature at night, but as I said, Nitecore fails in the class with its battery not being changeable and no sos modes. Is there a competitor? As far as I have observed, there are none. Your opinions are important, so I'd like to see the flashlights you suggest.

    • @cheule
      @cheule  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I mean, perhaps AceBeam thinks that yellow/orange light penetrates fog better, but that has been disproven. I really am not sure what purpose it serves. But the beam does look super cool as orange. But as I said, huge lumen loss.

    • @tomallo99
      @tomallo99 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@cheule Oh, it's been disproven? Interesting, can you share a link or something when I can learn more about this finding?

    • @cheule
      @cheule  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well for starters, the idea that long wavelengths scatter less in fog is based on faulty logic. Rayleigh Scattering is the phenomenon where blue light scatters more in the atmosphere than red light, and explains why our Sky looks blue.
      However, fog is water droplets millions of times larger than the wavelength of blue or orange light, and Rayleigh scattering doesn’t apply to fog.
      It’s just bad science that was compounded by old laws. For example, up until the 90s, I believe, in Europe there was a law that mandated that all fog lights were yellow. But since it was based on bad science, the law was repealed.

      I promise to never hold back on reviews. If I say I like it; I really do. I don’t care about affiliate money. I do this for the love of the game.
