Robert, you are such a beautiful, honest and heartfelt person. By being so you have totally justified why I saw you the way I did in 1968 (and then beyond). You were real then, amazing to behold and you're real now and you still sing like a naughty angel and talk like a prince. Love you man.
This site is only for leaving respect. Led Zepplin was and still is the greatest rock band in the world. Robert is still in good shape and I pray that we have him around for a long time to come. In 1968 I was 10 , I heard Zepplin and knew at that moment that they were going to be extremely special. Hence they are
Robert was and is so eloquent...but I can understand why they didn't give interviews...the interviewers asked the stupidest questions. Does anyone know where this documentary can be purchased?
The facts are, the only things that are similar is the chord progression and the title of the tune. The actual lyrics themselves are completely different. I'm not saying that Zep shouldn't have given Jake some sort of credit from the beginning, but you can't say that the entire song was lifted. That's simply not true.
I didnt say it was shit I said in his words his 80s shit was pretty bad not what he did was shit. I never make comparisons to zepplin but I dont think everything he did was that great. Im a huge admirer of his and respect the non stop journey he has taken to make music and will be a fan forever I also say bravo.
when the music killed the man they had to break up the band ? and anotherthing they were the only band to never perform on top of the pops ,so what did the bbc do ? used there music as the theme music for years
+Zach McQuaid Amazingly, Plant's voice is intact. And this is not soft rock -he is singing at the highest octaves with great power. His voice has changed a bit -in many ways it's richer than in the 1970s.
Zach McQuaid Like the rest of us from Robert's generation, we've mellowed and aged like fine wine. I feel in love with Robert Plant's voice upon first hearing it in the late 1960's. My love hasn't wavered through all the passing years. In fact, it has just intensified. Ask any female Robert Plant devotee, I'll bet they tell you the same thing. I'm curious, you mentioned his '80's voice...is that about the time you became a fan? In other words, are you much younger than me (65 y/o)? I've noticed in watching rock music fans, their formative years, when they were first turned on to whichever band they love, sometimes guides their choices of favorites. I'm honestly just curious...from an ancient Hippie chick. ❤️😎✌️
No, Robert, it wasn't horrendous; instead, it was representative of the times, and in a very successful way. Yes, in a sense, the use of syths and other technology dates it, but it dates it in a very wonderful and nostalgic way for us who grew up in the 80's, much like music from the 50's and 60's: you immediately know what time period you are listening to.
Yes, we all know the Dazed and Confused story...zzzzzzzz Actually they took a boring dirge and turned it into a masterpiece. Jealousy sure has a unique way of raising it's ugly head!
Excuse me, nobody stole those riffs, nobody stole those bass lines, nobody stole those unique vocal tones and lyrics, certainly nobody ever played those thumping kick-ass drum beats before!
Mate... Zep stole. It doesn't take way from their brilliance but everyone and their mother stole back in the late 60s. Zep did create their own sound and nobody will ever be able to fully replicate that.
I get such a kick out of the TV commentators listening to the Lemon Song. I play that on my guitar like it's an entirely new groove and here are these guys listening to it way the hell back in the day. Man I love Led Zeppelin
I looked at a picture my pal had on his dresser of a guy with his arm around a girl.... it was Robert Plant.... I said "whoa! That's Robert Plant"....Kevin Koons said "that's my sister Debra" She went on to marry Jerry Garcia.
I dont think any of it was shit , your comparing what he did as a Solo Artist to what he did as Part of one of THE BEST most influential bands ever .... He was a singer and he just wanted to continue on with what he loved , When John died it literally destroyed him on the inside and i believe moving on was a way to help with his pain ...They have always kept the Greatness of the mighty Zeppelin by not whoring it out and to that and all he and the rest of the members have done i say Bravo ..
Out of every solo release you have honored us with, there has always been a song or two, three or more that live on inside me, like yourself. I have always loved your work whatever path you may have chose. Do not discount your choices through time, each was relevant for its time and state of mind. Sea of Love, Darkness, Darkness, The Greatest Gift, I Believe, Trampled Rose, or Silver Rider and so many more, you continue to be a musical gift!!! xxxooo
I really think I am so lucky. All these years right from the start, I got to listen to all the great music of Led Zeppelin. I got to see the band 4 times in my life. I even got to know a friend of Roberts who thankfully allowed me to send Robert an email a few years back. Like many of you; you feel so grateful you just want to say thanks, and I had that opportunity. Oh yeah..saw Robert every time he came to town. Awww The memories.
"The estimation of any group of people about any one person is always, generally a million miles from where they are at". I think I like this guy. He's pretty wise and keeps coming up with amazing insights in this interview.
Yes Robert is and always will be the very best!! I was in high school when You were at your peak But here you are still Rockin!! So sad about John 💔 Love you all ❤ Raw and real you are a very sweet guy
So long as Mr Plant doesn't sell him self out in some musically-dead pop song like mick jagger has been doing recently, he can do what he bloody well pleases :)
Actually, if you listen to Clapton's Let it Grow, you will find that Clapton actually rips off Stairway. Check the chord progressions. It's the same riff.Musicians all take from each other. That's called paying homage.
Very good point. Musically speaking, there are only so many things and ways to go with the 7 note diatonic scale which basically created music. It's what all the great composers used. It's all the basis of what we listen to today- wether it be rock, rap, country- whatever.
SoundHound is amazing. After playing three seconds of this, it recognized it. It's Great Spirit (Acoustic Mix) from Fate of Nations (2007) with the late Kevin MacMichael on guitar.
Plant is an interesting dude but I still think what might have been if Zepplin never broke up.. Zepplin was a true harmonic chord in the random energy that rattles this planets atmosphere.
+Livinghighandwise Led Zep broke up when they were supposed to break up. Had Bonzo not died, they had at least another couple of albums in them, I figure.
Not sure about that. In Through The Out Door wasn't great. They might have rediscovered their form later but then again maybe not. I think these things are meant to be anyway.
I disagree with one statement: I personally think In Through The Out Door was a great album. A slight departure in some ways, but each song is brilliantly crafted and distinct. It is maligned in certain quarters, not sure why. As for rediscovering their form, Page and Bonzo were not fans of ITTOD, and planned for their next album to be in the hard rock vein typical of Zep's previous work.
He seems like a sincere and nice guy in person, albeit rather effeminate. Not gay, but slightly fem. I think that's the showman in him that comes out in a soft and lovely form.
Robert, you are such a beautiful, honest and heartfelt person. By being so you have totally justified why I saw you the way I did in 1968 (and then beyond). You were real then, amazing to behold and you're real now and you still sing like a naughty angel and talk like a prince. Love you man.
Shit what a voice even today ❤️🙏🔥
Pants vocals at 17 years old;My God,He sounds like an old black man singing.F'n awesome!!
When he was in ZEP;Every man wanted to be him.(including me).And every girl wanted to do him.

Me also I was 10 so my sister was 4 years older and I have always loved them, my did get to see them in the 70's
Best ever
I love you , Bobby
What a great interview.
Robert Plant is a very unique and interesting person.....but somewhat awkward...and somewhat oddly elusive.
Magical Men :)
ahhh fuck, this ended so good it got me waiting for part 3...when does next video air?
Now if I can just find Parts 1 and 2😂
Well, he DID say, "It was quite horrendous, in a way, but worth a shot."
Robert was and is so eloquent...but I can understand why they didn't give interviews...the interviewers asked the stupidest questions. Does anyone know where this documentary can be purchased?
is that jeremy clarkson from top gear interviewing him at 10:16
Does anyone know what the song is at 13:04 ?
for some reason I find 80's Robert hilarious, like his videos are funny idk

LOL yeah plants "80s shit" was pretty bad but its all been reedemed a thousand times over by the good shit.
...yes, I think everyone probably got it! Not the sharpest are you?
when the music killed the man they had to break up the band ? and anotherthing they were the only band to never perform on top of the pops ,so what did the bbc do ? used there music as the theme music for years
Honestly I really like his 80s voice the best. His first 3 solo albums in my opinion are my favorite. Rock on Plant!!
+Zach McQuaid Amazingly, Plant's voice is intact.

Great albums - I'm with you.
Amazing voice, Roberts voice was so mind boggling good from 1968-1975.
He has always been so hot!
No, Robert, it wasn't horrendous; instead, it was representative of the times, and in a very successful way. Roberts voice is soo....unreal , it does match with EVERYTHING.
What happened to Part 1?
Yes, we all know the Dazed and Confused story...zzzzzzzz
Actually they took a boring dirge and turned it into a masterpiece.
Jealousy sure has a unique way of raising it's ugly head!
Robert was so young and so clever
Did anybody else get the "Crosby Stole the Stash" joke at 11:15 !!! great one.
Excuse me, nobody stole those riffs, nobody stole those bass lines, nobody stole those unique vocal tones and lyrics, certainly nobody ever played those thumping kick-ass drum beats before!

Haha It was NOT 80's Shit. It was FREAKIN awesome
I betcha that was Robert's film footage in India.
"Oh God did you hear his 80's shit LOL! Even though I love it I find that comment hysterically funny.
Robert Plant's version of "Sea of Love" is one of those elusive times in music where the cover actually supersedes the original.
Out of every solo release you have honored us with, there has always been a song or two, three or more that live on inside me, like yourself. Big Log and Moonlight in Simosa are my favourite Plant songs
Damn... I would have loved it if Robert was my teacher.... I would go to school everyday.
One Things For Sure ......l. Can’t Quit You
"The estimation of any group of people about any one person is always, generally a million miles from where they are at". I think I like this guy. He's pretty wise and keeps coming up with amazing insights in this interview.
The 80s only sounds awful in the 90s lol
I love this man, thank you Robert for all you have given us.
You know nothing of zeppelin. Leave this place of respect for a great singer and cool guy.
Yes Robert is and always will be the very best!!
I was in high school when
You were at your peak
But here you are still Rockin!! So sad about John 💔
Love you all ❤
Raw and real you are a very sweet guy
Robert's stache!!!
I would kill to have young Robert's hair! :) (figuratively, of course, not literally).. but he has the best hair!
Ooooooooooo...AAAAaaaaaaaooooohhhhh......Oh. Oh Oh...
Oh Oh. Oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh
So long as Mr Plant doesn't sell him self out in some musically-dead pop song like mick jagger has been doing recently, he can do what he bloody well pleases :)

Vert, i'm surrounded by condiment behaviour. It blows! :(
This is someone else's comment on The Ocean video, but at 3:52, I asked Jimmy "Where's the toilet?" and he said..
Very good point. Musically speaking, there are only so many things and ways to go with the 7 note diatonic scale which basically created music. It's what all the great composers used. It's all the basis of what we listen to today- wether it be rock, rap, country- whatever.
Are you talking about the first song they played in this video?
Well, it is Dased and Confused- Led Zeppelin
You are aware a cover isnt a rip off. You can play some else's song. Hopefully the version you do is good.
0:54 "THE" Led Zeppelin... the?? so stupid
SoundHound is amazing. After playing three seconds of this, it recognized it. It's Great Spirit (Acoustic Mix) from Fate of Nations (2007) with the late Kevin MacMichael on guitar.
What is the name of the song the DJ at
;52 is playing?
12:32 technology sounds awful, im not alone haha
11:13 Crosby strolled his stash? Lol
pagey & jonsey financed it he said ! pretty amazing
amazing how much they respected amhets opinions !
@pigurine The Lemon Song
What name of first song the movie??
is there a vid of the concert at 2:45 anywhere?
Robert is honest that s what matters
...Crosby stole the stash...CLASSIC!
ahaha Crosby stole his stash
am i a minority in saying that shaken & stirred is my favourite solo album of his? by the sounds of it plant would call me crazy too^^
I agree that it was best 80s album, along with Principle of Moments for me.
and how do u know
honey drippers
So who then ?
led zeppelin ?
11:13 crosby stoled his stash. hmmm....can we assume robert plant dislikes crosby stills and nash?
No, he actually loves the band. He likes fucking around though. He called Sting "String" in an interview.
Plant is an interesting dude but I still think what might have been if Zepplin never broke up.. Zepplin was a true harmonic chord in the random energy that rattles this planets atmosphere.

I think that proves Mr. Plant's point; he thought it was an amazing album but it didn't have commercial success.
He seems like a sincere and nice guy in person, albeit rather effeminate. Not gay, but slightly fem. I think that's the showman in him that comes out in a soft and lovely form.
and remember one thing led zep never sold out and never will
