I can’t believe what a difference it makes “greasing up” while you’re still wet. That’s been a skin saver for me this winter. I’ve even have my husband doing it now too. We both thank you for that gem!
Since watching your videos I have started using my body moisturizer in the shower right after bathing and then I air dry. It has made a huge difference in my skin. Most winters I get eczema patches on my arms, legs and sometimes hips and I have not had that at all this year. Plus my skin is so soft and smooth! It feels weird when you first do it because you’re thinking, “there is no way this is going to sink in, that Dr. Dray is crazy...” But it really doesn’t take long to be dry and your skin feels so much more comfortable. And it is not in anyway a big drippy mess like I was afraid it would be as long as your wet hair is up. I just air dry while taking care of my facial skin and brush my teeth. Thanks!
TIP: can of tomato paste. portion out unused paste with a measuring spoon and make tablespoon balls. put on wax or plastic wrap. freeze. after frozen put into ziploc bag. there's a snack size. keep in freezer. good to go and portioned out.
Moisturizer while wet...genius! Totally changed my skin (face especially!). Or could be the Cerave pm. Whatever, it works! Also tried the cerave cream per your recommendation and it totally took away an eczema patch on my nose. That I was convinced was skin cancer. Regardless, getting it checked but still. Shooo, that would have been a nasty scar. Thank you for all of your sound advice. I truly have been minimizing my skin care and life recently. Very liberating. And made a derm appt. So just know that you make a difference and your advice/recommendations are changing the way of your viewers. I know that you do that in your daily life but know that it is having a widespread effect.
I would like if you could make a video about skin health. Why you should wash your face, why you should moisturize your face (Transepidermal water loss) ect ect. Whats the point of skin care. Basic 101. Thanks :)
I grew up in mostly in St. Louis and moved to Texas for 7th-9th grade. One of my friends during that time called me one morning, excitedly, telling me to look at all the snow outside. I sit up in bed and peak out the window "I see grass." It looked just like here--hardly any snow. My mom said my brother's school when we lived in Atlanta would let the kids outside when it snowed a little, because it was such a novelty.
I'm learning so much from you and am thrilled to have found your channel. I was watching QVC and Dr Denese was on and I used to use some of her line but never really saw any difference in my skin, only my wallet but they used to be able to convince me I need it. Not anymore.
“Unless you get me around a bunch of beans. Then I get excited!” I always laugh out loud at you while I’m in bed catching up on your videos. My husband probably thinks I’m crazy. Also, I ordered the Hada Labo skin plumping gel cream and LOVE it! Thanks for the recommendation!
I was looking at the Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel cream the other day here in Australia but noticed that it's made in China, wondering if the one you have is also of the same origin? Have a great day 🌻
Aloha Ms Andrea! I also have used your tip of moisturizing after my shower and onto wet skin. It’s amazing how well it dries and makes my skin feel! Mahalo! 👍🏻❤️
I also am a fan of the Natural Calm but not because if the nonexistent calming effect I get. I love the flavor. I have only tried the raspberry lemon flavor but now have my eyes set on trying cherry. It says in the label “Relaxing Magnesium Supplement”, but the only thing relaxed are my bowels (I have gotten acclimated to using it now, but at first I really felt the effects of magnesium). Right now, I am catching up on all my missed videos from you so enjoy reading all my comments lol! I loved the vlog!!! Caleb :)
Hi Andrea, keep warm in that frosty Houston weather (tee hee). Speaking of tea, in addition to hoarding lipsticks I hoard tea. As a baseline panicky person, having lots of tea on hand makes me feel like help is close by. I love Twinings tea. Right now I’m.building my hoard with Twinings Green Tea with Pomegranate, Raspberry and Strawberry. I love it! Twinings also makes a nice herbal tea: Pomegranate and Raspberry. Red fruits are my favourite flavour and scent, and my perfume hoard leans towards rich red fruit scents. PS thanks for the tip about moisturizing on wet skin, I did that yesterday and my legs have never ever felt this smooth! What a treat!
Republic of Tea is another great brand. My favorite drink is peach tea, mint tea, honey, and some lemonade mixed in. Starbucks calls it a medicine ball. So good.
Back in the late 80's, we had a couple of days of ice in Houston, employers had no mercy and by the time employees were allowed to leave work on day 1, all the overpasses and freeways were covered with several inches of ice. I remember driving home from work on surface streets, my commute that night was 2 hours instead of 20 minutes, I also remember how shocked I was that my washer fluid had frozen solid while I was at work.
I got me the mocha cafe candle love love it. I also purchased the peanut nut butter powder it is wonderful thank you for indroducing it. I purchased some black bean chili lime chips, and man they are really good!!! I enjoyed your haul too always. Thank you so much.
Have you had hibiscus tacos? It’s got a consistency like meat when it’s cooked and tastes good. Plus you have to steep it a few times so you get a lot of tea. It’s great with nopales.
Celestial seasonings has a delicious camomile tea, plain green tea, and chai tea. Also the yogi teas are really good. And heb brand cinammon apple spice
No kidding, that soap is the *cutest* LOL! I kept a nice container (from an old handsoap) that I keep refilling with body washes or shampoos that didn't work out for me one way or the other, and also Lidl sometimes does refillable pouches too. This is my handsoap life. ;)
Enjoyed your i-Herb haul!! Bean hoarder he! he! Love BEANS:) I do enjoy the aromas of the Tuscany Candles! They are just the right amount of fragrance!!Happy Tuesday:)
You were cracking me about the water dribbling! 😂😂😂 I work nights and get home at 7:30-I won’t go to bed until I watch your videos! Who needs sleep? 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
What a great video! I loved the humor, the iHerb haul, and the shower/moisture tips. I've tried Stash Licorice tea (you might like it :) I also use KAL nutritional yeast, not sure how the Now brand stacks up, and chocolate stevia drops. I would love to start making my own hot cocoa!
"Natural Calm" I will check that out! iHerb is wonderful, it's good to pass on the love💚 Proud of your vegan mama👏 And, yes, frozen pipes in Texas is real -- it happened to me, lol!😂😂 They just don't build like they do where it really snows. They also close schools here on below freezing days because unlike Colorado and Boston, Austin doesn't salt the roads (it's a serious issue, someone just killed another when his truck went off the freeway bridge. So terribly sad). Anywho, love your vlogs, you inspire me to get off my bum and accomplish what I need to get done!!👍 Thanks for creating such entertaining and informative videos to watch, I know your schedule must be tight, so it's always a treat seeing what you upload :)
Thank for the recipe! I learned to add peanut butter powder to oatmeal from you. It is fantastic with coconut milk. Can you please do more work outfits of the day, including shoes? I really enjoyed the one you did a while ago on having a workplace "uniform." That was very helpful!
Hi Dr. Dray. My 5 month old developed eczema red dry patches all over his body and cheeks as well. I hear from our doc keep moisturizing. Having a battle with eczema for 7 years i know it doesn't really work and the real problem is from the inside. What do u suggest? Thank u.
this is accurate information, consistent moisturizer use and limiting the bathing to no more than a few minutes with luke warm water is really important....i have eczema, and no first hand it can be very distressing. Rubbing fragrance free moisturizing cream (i like vanicream) on an spot at the first sign that the child is about to scratch, can help keep it from downhill spiraling into a scratch itch cycle
I do that! On wet skin! And yes, my dad is always telling me: dont loose your oils 😆 Dr Andrea.. im pretty sure that your cocoa is ecuadorian. "Cacao Arriba" is a native kind of seed from my beautiful little swiss Ecuador🌻
Arizona hit 39 this morning....say What???? Yes I understand I lived most of my life in Chicago...and have been spoiled in AZ for the last 6 years. Dripping faucet=torture. IHERB is definately freaky fast... Tomato paste in a tube is really a game changer. I love it. Let me know how you like the red velvet tea especially since it has rooibus in it I think. I have been enjoying the sweetleaf drops in Valencia Orange in my smoothies, coffee and tea.
Hi Dr Dray thanks for the short shower in winter tip, iv used the Earth Science moisterizer and maybe air on the side of caution for using it on the face to anyone prone to breakouts, as for the body was pretty good as far as I can remember X
Thank you for the, I herb product sneak peek, I currently take magnesium. I will definitely ask my doctor about using calm flavor water it looks flavorful.
Sometimes I workout in the middle of my day, and I'm not sure if I should be washing my face and body with soap/face wash? I follow your everyday routine with a SA face wash in the AM and at night I use an oil cleanser (I do wear makeup) and then use a Benzoyl Peroxide wash (I do suffer from acne). I do sweat quite a bit during my workouts, but my main concern is not to overwash my face and body and aggravate my acne. Any advice is appreciated! Oh, and I also made your fruity breakfast beans, they are delish!! I live in Arkansas and completely understand when people freak out over some snow! We had some snow just a week ago and all the schools were shut down for two days! lol
Hey Dr. Dray, have you ever tried lotus root? I can't live without it, love the taste and its a great source of vitamin C and potassium! I'm guessing you'll be able to find it at your local Asian market or H Mart. Love your videos you have taught me so much.
Dr Dray thank you for your great advices! What do you think about Murads and First Aid Beauty cleansers? For example , murad has a AHA/BHA exfoliating cleanser that ive been wanting to try out but not sure if its worth it , many people have recommended. And for the FAB their face cleanser , thoughts? Thank you in advance 😁
Hello Dr Dray, My legs has a bad rash or ezcema. This week i try Cetaphil sample after a lot of product it lot of cream and lotion. I feel the itching look a likes go away & the skin more comfortable. I try my best to get Cerave Moisturing Cream at my country(Malaysia) but so difficult😢😢. I think cetaphil cream works very well,😍😍😍. Dr Dray such awesome tea lover, a lot of tea flavour☕☕ & coffee. Have nice day & love u.
Candles give a nice warm ambiance to home. I do not like to go out in the cold winter, nice to stay in. You must have the black ice, roads are like a skating rink.I did check out IHerb ,I will be ordering from LuckyVitamin, lower $$ than Vitacost, plus they sent me a -%15 coupon. I am going to try IHerb too.like to see what you buy , like to try new items.like that cocoa. 👋
I did have a question for you! How do you feel about Stridex pads? And how should you use them? I have dry skin but it's the only thing that keeps acne at bay for me. But it does make my skin even more dry :( I don't know what to do!
Such a "cute" weather event! ;) Having lived in Houston and from San Antonio I remember well how the south shuts down like this. Now in NE and embracing and loving the snow and cold :) Your tip to moisturize on wet skin is life changing...seriously! Can't tell you how many people I've already converted! Even my husband does it now. I moisturize my face with the Neut. Hydro Boost in shower then get out and apply CeraVe PM. Do I need to let that try to tacky or completely dry to apply my Tretinoin? I was thinking about this question and you just last night when applying and wondering how long I needed to wait. Thanks! j.
Hi Andrea, I'm sorry there is a storm there, take care, I also like a lot hot cocoa with cinnamon, specially if there is cold weather, I entered to a channel I like and the title made me believe I'd finally found someone who thougth different about that electric brush, but no, she adores it, and on a sea of comments praising that device, I left a bomb explaining why I wouldn't buy it, I don't think it'll make any difference but at least I didn't sing with them the loas to Clar...Thanks for remind us the correct application of moisturazer after the shower, it must be difficult to make with those temperatures, can I dry the excess of water at least?.Hugs.
The Earth Circle Dulse has quite a warning on the back. Wonder why? The coconut aminos sounds good. I always avoid soy and msg so this seems like a great option. Looking forward to your review. Cheers!
that california warning comes on many products....if you go to the earth circle site they explain it (see below). Ingestng minutia amounts of metals is not really escapable, and I agree with what the CEO states on the site In California, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, known as Proposition 65, established strict standards for over 800 chemicals, compounds and metals, some of which are found in certain consumer products and foods, including our own. Through diligent testing, we have determined that certain of our products contain lead or cadmium. California’s Proposition 65 therefore requires that these products be labeled to indicate the presence of these heavy metals, which are known to cause cancer or reproductive harm. Currently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) offer very little in the way of standards for heavy metals in foods, other than specific products such as mercury in tuna, for example. The European Union (EU) similarly does not set hard limits except for certain categories of foods and specific chemicals. We believe that the presence of these chemicals, at the extremely low concentrations at which they can be found, are the result of natural processes and the natural propensity of plants to bind to these elements. We recognize that we live on a volcanic planet, and that fact, coupled with human activity, has contributed to the dispersion of many substances into the environment. In particular, heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, inorganic arsenic, and other substances that are commonly found in foods are of concern to everyone. Certain foods grown in conditions where such chemicals are found, either by natural or man-made causes, have a propensity to take up these chemicals during growth, and can sometimes be concentrated by processing. We do not add chemicals to our products, but our products are nevertheless thoroughly tested for the presence of various chemicals and heavy metals to ensure they are safe for customers and comply with organic standards as well applicable local, state, national and international regulations. We understand that there is a lot of information circulating that could be alarming to consumers when expressed without context or established standards. We can all agree that nobody wants heavy metals in food. But it is, for better or worse, a part of the natural world. We believe our products are safe. To put it simply, we would not sell anything that we would not eat.
Dr Dray Thanks!! It seems we are always having to analyse ingredients in products that should be not be included but no-one warns you about ( except you thank goodness!) and ingredients with warnings that are overkill. The struggle is real!
I was wondering about using apple cider vinegar as an exfoliant. I lost my job and cannot afford my usual skin care routine. I have found info online but not many responses from derms. Thanks.
Dr Dray how about things like the Aveeno bath oil with colloidal oatmeal? Bubble bath dries me out and this kind of cuts down on the itching a little. 🙃
So funny hearing about how everyone reacts there to a light dusting of snow haha! While I'm just here in New York and we were getting buried in snow a couple weeks ago and still had to drive to work in white out conditions *eye roll*
You got some really delicious teas! Speaking of beverages has anyone tried the coffee from cafe du monde? It's a place that serves coffee and beinets in new orleans but they sell both online I am wanting to try them both.anyone ever tried it?
Nava Asad Dohadwala...I love the carmex chapstick (strawberry). At night I put a thick layer on. The next morning I need a tissue to wipe off the dead skin. Its the only thing that works for me.
Dr. Dray happens to love the CeraVe healing ointment especially for her lips. CeraVe recently came out with an SPF 30 lip balm you can use for sun protection during the day. Vanicream products are also a good option. Pure petrolatum (Vaseline) works great in a pinch too.
Great Vlog.. Just a reminder to everyone... Don't put off seeing a dermatologist if you question anything on your skin... Be smart and safe and get checked out. I went today... He doesn't think anything to worry about but he was very aggressive in freezing large patches on both cheeks on my face... Check up in a few months....♥️❤️
Hahahaha I’m sorry for laughing, that’s definitely not a winter storm. I would assume maybe because it’s a bit more than what people are used to where you live. I live in Northern British Columbia, Canada haha it was -45 C here last week..... that’s severe winter conditions lol. I wish I lived in Texas but I think because I’m not used to the heat, it would feel like living in a sauna.
I can’t believe what a difference it makes “greasing up” while you’re still wet. That’s been a skin saver for me this winter. I’ve even have my husband doing it now too. We both thank you for that gem!
game changer :)
I feel the same. It has made all the difference in the world.
Thanks!
glad to hear!
a trick: watch series at Flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Conrad Omar yea, have been using flixzone} for months myself :D
TIP: can of tomato paste. portion out unused paste with a measuring spoon and make tablespoon balls. put on wax or plastic wrap. freeze. after frozen put into ziploc bag. there's a snack size. keep in freezer. good to go and portioned out.
Thanks!
Thank you so much Ms Chelsea!
Dr Dray I'm new to your channel and will say I'm THOROUGHLY hooked!! Can't get enough of your knowledge and wit ;) Have a great day!😊💛
Thanks! Hope you are having a great night!
I would like if you could make a video about skin health. Why you should wash your face, why you should moisturize your face (Transepidermal water loss) ect ect. Whats the point of skin care. Basic 101.
Thanks :)
thanks
She has tons of those if you go to Dr. Dray's channel page, and sift through her video titles! Cheers!
I grew up in mostly in St. Louis and moved to Texas for 7th-9th grade. One of my friends during that time called me one morning, excitedly, telling me to look at all the snow outside. I really love the berry stevia drops in rose hip tea. It makes it tastes just like strawberry juice
You should Vlog your next Cosco trip (with mom, of course!!!!)
:)
I'm learning so much from you and am thrilled to have found your channel. I was watching QVC and Dr Denese was on and I used to use some of her line but never really saw any difference in my skin, only my wallet but they used to be able to convince me I need it. Not anymore.
Thanks! QVC is hypnotizing!
Thanks! Hope you are having a great night! Glad you like the HL
Mahalo! 👍🏻❤️

Loved the iHerb haul!!! All great products!!! Great tips for shower and moisturizing dry winter skin!! Thanks and have a great evening!😙
Thanks! Hope you are having a great night!
Caleb :)
tasty
Love the Perfect Peach 🍑 tea

Hi Andrea, keep warm in that frosty Houston weather (tee hee). Speaking of tea, in addition to hoarding lipsticks I hoard tea. As a baseline panicky person, having lots of tea on hand makes me feel like help is close by. I love Twinings tea. Right now I’m.building my hoard with Twinings Green Tea with Pomegranate, Raspberry and Strawberry. I love it! Twinings also makes a nice herbal tea: Pomegranate and Raspberry. yeah the hardest thing to learn when i moved from SC to colorado was that snow did not equal school closure, lol
I got me the mocha cafe candle love love it. I also purchased the peanut nut butter powder it is wonderful thank you for indroducing it. I purchased some black bean chili lime chips, and man they are really good!!! I enjoyed your haul too always. Thank you so much.

No kidding, that soap is the *cutest* LOL! I kept a nice container (from an old handsoap) that I keep refilling with body washes or shampoos that didn't work out for me one way or the other, and also Lidl sometimes does refillable pouches too. This is my handsoap life. ;)

that sounds annoying to deal with!
Hello dr dray your inputs are so valuable! What is your opinion on spirulina and chlorella? Is it safe to take that?
I’m such a sucker for cute packaging too! I’d so buy that, lol!
Love those soaps! Worth getting suckered in, lol
I love the Stash teas.
they are good
Lots of good stuff from iherb. My February NMNL box arrived on 1/23/18. I haven't tried anything yet but there's some great stuff in this box.
it is a fun one :)
Dr. dray book club! Pleeeeeaaasssseeee?!

hello dr dray what do you think of zinc oxide (at a 20% or more formulation) only sunscreens?

Coconut aminos! The Braggs has soy, FYI for those who can't do soy.
I've been watching your channel for several months now and my skin has never looked better! (and my wallet feels better too :-)
Glad to hear :)
If your pipes are on an inside wall you don’t need to let the faucet drip, only the pipes on the outside walls.
seems odd, i agree
Hi Dr Dray thanks for the short shower in winter tip, iv used the Earth Science moisterizer and maybe air on the side of caution for using it on the face to anyone prone to breakouts, as for the body was pretty good as far as I can remember X

Hi Dr. Dray! Can you make a video on liquid collagen? I've been seeing it at Costco, and would like to know if it is effective. Thanks ahead!
it is not
Dr Dray thank you for your great advices! What do you think about Murads and First Aid Beauty cleansers? For example , murad has a AHA/BHA exfoliating cleanser that ive been wanting to try out but not sure if its worth it , many people have recommended. And for the FAB their face cleanser , thoughts? Thank you in advance 😁
they are pretty good, but pricey
Hello Dr Dray, My legs has a bad rash or ezcema. This week i try Cetaphil sample after a lot of product it lot of cream and lotion. I feel the itching look a likes go away & the skin more comfortable. I try my best to get Cerave Moisturing Cream at my country(Malaysia) but so difficult😢😢. I think cetaphil cream works very well,😍😍😍. Dr Dray such awesome tea lover, a lot of tea flavour☕☕ & coffee. Have nice day & love u.
hard to avoid scratching, but that actually makes itch and dry skin worse and more persistent
Dr Dray totally truth 😢😢😢 can't hold myself to scrathing it😭😭
Candles give a nice warm ambiance to home. 👋
Thanks! love iherb
I did have a question for you! How do you feel about Stridex pads? And how should you use them? I have dry skin but it's the only thing that keeps acne at bay for me. But it does make my skin even more dry :( I don't know what to do!
i like them
Thank you!
Ha ha bean hoarder/counter! Made me 😂
:)
Thanks! j.
lol! Dairy Queen has a more legit "blizzard"
Don't towel off the water....it contributes to further dryness...wrapping up in a warm towel can help though when it is cold and ou are standing there
OK, I understand the idea. Thanks.
Ingestng minutia amounts of metals is not really escapable, and I agree with what the CEO states on the site
In California, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, known as Proposition 65, established strict standards for over 800 chemicals, compounds and metals, some of which are found in certain consumer products and foods, including our own.
Do you prefer iherb skin purchase verses CVS, which is cheaper
iherb has different selection and better deals
I was wondering about using apple cider vinegar as an exfoliant. I lost my job and cannot afford my usual skin care routine. I have found info online but not many responses from derms. Thanks.
NO
Can you give me your opinion on STEMUDERM? Is it worth the try?
no, it is useless
How about bath oils? Are they ok to use while you are wet before you put on moisturizer? I sometimes feel like the oils give me extra moisture.
useless
Dr Dray how about things like the Aveeno bath oil with colloidal oatmeal? Bubble bath dries me out and this kind of cuts down on the itching a little. 🙃
So funny hearing about how everyone reacts there to a light dusting of snow haha! While I'm just here in New York and we were getting buried in snow a couple weeks ago and still had to drive to work in white out conditions *eye roll*
i know....it can get waist high
Fruity Boo. I LOVE it!
teehee
I have a question about kp skin, do I put on my cerave lotion after or before using a cream??
that is a good idea
So after I shower the cream goes before the lotion?
You got some really delicious teas! Speaking of beverages has anyone tried the coffee from cafe du monde? It's a place that serves coffee and beinets in new orleans but they sell both online I am wanting to try them both.anyone ever tried it?
the du monde coffee is a chicory one...i don't care for chicory coffee, but if you do, you will like it
It’s very strong and the chicory is not something I really liked.
Totally off topic here but do you have any videos about granuloma annulare?
no
This is my third day trying matcha tea, mine taste sightly minty and I was surprised by the taste then I realized I got peppermint matcha tea lol
:)
Have you been vegan all your life? Do you feel you get all the vitamins needed?
no, yes
Hi Dr dray....thanks for the video....do u have any tips on dry peeley chapped lips...my lips are nightmarish this time of year 😢
Nava Asad Dohadwala not trying to answer for her but I know she’d suggest Vaseline! :)
Pure petrolatum (Vaseline) works great in a pinch too.
vaseline or cerave healing ointment
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 dribbling water at a painful rate! I understand exactly what you mean!
so annoying
For the vegan foodie check out Avant Garde Vegan on his channel. Fab!
Thanks!
Loved your haul!!! I'm a Vegan bean hoarder too!!!!
we need membership cards
Great Vlog..
Just a reminder to everyone... Don't put off seeing a dermatologist if you question anything on your skin... Be smart and safe and get checked out.
I went today... He doesn't think anything to worry about but he was very aggressive in freezing large patches on both cheeks on my face... Check up in a few months....♥️❤️
thank you so much for sharing this :)
I love tea and making hot chocolate. I use coconut milk :)
so good
You should do a Q&A video where we ask you questions about you. I don't even know how old you are. How old are you?
old enough to use a spoon
Hahahaha I’m sorry for laughing, that’s definitely not a winter storm. I would assume maybe because it’s a bit more than what people are used to where you live.
I live in Northern British Columbia, Canada haha it was -45 C here last week..... that’s severe winter conditions lol. I wish I lived in Texas but I think because I’m not used to the heat, it would feel like living in a sauna.
yeah i have lived in colder climates in the us where there is waste high snow....not the case here though
Do you believe that the health of the body on the inside effects the skin?
yes....it is a fact, not a belief
Scientists just delivered a bitter truth: cacao plants will likely be extinct by 2050 yes that would mean less chocolate Andrea
:(
You have no pictures on the walls...
don't want to compete with el prado
Dr Dray you are so funny 😂 but honestly I had to google what El prado is 🙈
Never heard of iherb
i love it!
