Studio version was my introduction to Lovebites. Still in my top 5, so I was SO happy they played it in Belgium - seeing Miyako playing her historical (for me!) solo just in front of me ... I have no words!
The Official MV from 2017 was their 2nd video - and their first big hit. This 2021 version is the best IMHO. If you are confused by the opening with what sounds like 3 guitars - Midori has always used a 'hamonizer' switch at the beginning of the song to add a harmonized copy of her lead lines as she plays, while Miyako just plays power chords. Just about every song Lovebites plays has so many layers and so much complexity to the compositions. Forget the speed just for a moment. Miyako & Midori do so much, that they never really play the same notes. Their synchronization is perfection. I will say in front of anyone, that Miyako & Midori are the best dual lead guitarists ever, period. Asami kills it, and that psyching up the crowd with one hand as she holds that high note is epic. Haruna is crazy. She plays in a straight line.....but she doesn't. She uses every piece of her kit. Her cymbal/bell/china work is the best I've ever heard. Her constant little fills and misdirection creates no monotony, even though in many songs, it's just a constant high speed which you think would make it monotonous. Miho is in lockstep with Haruna, and with her finger picking, she plays thick with great tone. There's not really a close second favorite band to Lovebites for me. I enjoy your reactions.
Haruna's drumstick twirls are one of her signature movements along with the insanely fast double kick bass. I recently saw Lovebites play in London and Haruna left me open mouthed with amazement at her speed, power and precision. She is for me one of the best drummers out there. 😃🥁 🐺
One of my many "main" favs., Their studio version is incredible as well. It helped boost their popularity at the time. The technical skill they have at this speed is just phenomenal
I just feel metal bands today are not putting out quality material like this song after song. Granted from 2017 but they have not let up on the gas pedal sinced they formed in '16. So grateful to be able to witness them in their prime. Firmly believe we're watching one of the best metal acts ever. OMV is terrific to. Great reaction. Wait till you hear SSS...
