I caught that part Fami was playing during Midori’s second solo part. Such a straightforward riff but incredibly effective. I believe Fami has allowed them to “level up” asa lot of people are saying (if that was at all possible).
@@RobinC63 There is another part in the dual solo just before Asami pulls the sword. An insanely good synchronized riff with all three guitarists. And the Elephant in the room is that aggressive high arpeggio she plays at the end the 2nd half of EVERY line of the chorus.
Just when you think Lovebites couldn't get any better, especially after losing an excellent bass player in Miho, they come back with a vengeance and kicked our asses with this song. Not only did they find a replacement for Miho but in Fami, they found a bass player that is in her own league. I think with Fami onboard, not only does it seem that Lovebites is about to take it to the next level, but I think she will complement Haruna's style of playing the drums much better. Haruna's tempo throughout the entire song along with Fami's bass playing is ferocious. I can't wait for the album to come out.
I have to admit that I have never seen Midori look so awesome. She looks like a super hero. That tan body and muscular legs and arms and of course that wild hair reminds me of a Viking hero

Lovebites 2.0 - leveled up. Asami's voice - better than ever. Haruna - her cymbal/bell work on this song is exquisite. Midori - paying fast and tight as ever. Miyako - said she worked on speed during hiatus, and the solo run showed it. Fami - IMO a better fit with Lovebites. She can keep the beat with Haruna, but, she can also sync up like a 3rd guitar player (solo run incredible). I've listened to this song countless times trying to convince myself it can't be my favorite Lovebites song because I love The Hammer of Wrath so very much. But, this song is so amazing.

You raised a very interesting point: each japanese band success BENEFITS the other bands - when Band-Maid does a very successfull US tour, it means it will be easier for Nemophila to sell tickets afterwards. With the success of Band-Maid and Nemophila, Lovebites' return will be even more triumphant that it would have been without them. It is high time for rabid fans to stop slander/maligning other bands and consider them as a movement, an entity that we should support as a whole.

Well you think they are ready for a return to Wacken? OMG this group is primed to storm the Main stage this time around. No plans yet for tours outside of Japan but the Summer festivals in Europe are a sure bet for some real exposure. Hoping for a Fall North American tour and if they end up in River Plate I not sure they wouldn't set off earthquake warnings world wide. I'm wondering if she could become or if she already is something like the female counterpart of Les Claypool - as far as her playing technique and skills are concerned. While her style might be unusual for the genres of Metal Lovebites play, it makes Lovebites even more special and I hope that this line-up will stay for many years to come!
What surprised me the most is LOVEBITES completely moved on from the in-the-pocket locked in with HARUNA style. FAMI is all over the place in the composition. Following ASAMI's vocal melodies in parts and then M&M riffs in others and then links up tight with HARUNA in others. HARUNA too is more dynamic accenting the melody now too. 🤘🐺🤘
From what I hear, they never really stop playing. They just practice and wrote songs for the new Album till the new Bass was picked. Then they brought Fam in added her to the songs and some input she had. Cannot wait for the U.S. Tour. Hopefully they will announce the tour dates soon.
Of course, they're total professionals and music lovers - they never stopped practicing (I'm actually pretty sure even a nine-months pregnant Miyako was doing her guitar routine every day)

If the other songs on their new album are on the same level, it will turn out to be their best album so far! I still hope there will be songs in which Fami's bass is even more prominent. Since you mentioned that you like songs with sinister and dark atmosphere, you should - at least in theory - love the album "Within the Veil" by Fear of God. The music is very dark, atmoshperic, with some very aggressive parts as well and the often multi-layered vocal performances by Dawn Crosby (who already died in 1996 at the age of 33 as a consequence of year-long alcohol abuse) are the most haunting I have ever heard - she really "lived" her songs. Fami is only 20 years old. Still in university but she is old enough to go out drinking with the band after a show. Even though Miyako and Asami probably won't be out too long after a show now. 🤭

If the other songs on their new album are on the same level, it will turn out to be their best album so far! I still hope there will be songs in which Fami's bass is even more prominent. Since you mentioned that you like songs with sinister and dark atmosphere, you should - at least in theory - love the album "Within the Veil" by Fear of God. The music is very dark, atmoshperic, with some very aggressive parts as well and the often multi-layered vocal performances by Dawn Crosby (who already died in 1996 at the age of 33 as a consequence of year-long alcohol abuse) are the most haunting I have ever heard - she really "lived" her songs.
