Its been a minute since ive seen this movie and now i remember why I like it so much! Next as im sure was recommened was Ultraman Saga, but i also recommend the series Ultraman Geed. Its also a continuation... and also kinda a conclusion to some of the stuff of the stuff youve seen with Zero and Belial. Again, wont say how exactly, and i wont say who Ultraman Geed is. But if you do wanna cehck it out, id say do that before continuing with Z (zeet). Trust me on that!

(i'll give my thoughts on the movie and answer your questions here, i'll let you know where i think you should watch from next on discord) i'm glad you liked this movie, while i certainly have my problems with it, it is overall a good time, it visually looks really nice and belial definitely shows us why he's a threat to be taken seriously, but i dunno i feel like there could have been a bigger sense of scale to the whole thing, we see the battalions and generals of belials forces, but we only see them occupy maybe 3 planets in the entire movie, perhaps if there were fleets at every point of open space such as when zero entered the alternate universe it woulda sold me more on that aspect, but oh well.
in answer to your questions: no, mirror knight and glen fire are not ultramen, it is explored in things like official magazine publications that they are other races that basically act as the ultraman substitute for that particular universe, with different origin planets and abilities from the ultras. the trio of mirror knight, glen fire and jean-bot are also basically rebooted versions of some other hero characters made by tsuburaya in the 1970s, who each got their own series but are not directly connected to the ultraman series, those being mirrorman, fireman and jumborg ace. its clear to me that they wanted to have these original more obscure heroes brought back in a way in which theyd appeal to a new audience, which im perfectly fine with, but all three of those original shows are pretty damn good and would recommend (but ik you have a lot of the main ultraman stuff to go and dont wanna bombard you with even more). The connection is even more apparent as when each of the three show up properly for the first time, small music cues from the openings of those three original shows play which is really cool (also the original fireman's opening theme is a banger, you should give it a listen some time).
This film is your first introduction to ultraman noa, a character who was teased since 1966, but didnt properly show up until 2005. there are ultramen who seem to have god-like abilities, such as ultraman king, but noa is essentially THE ultraman god of the multiverse. as you can probably imagine, he doesnt show up that much. instead, noa is often shown in his devolved form, the one seen most often, that is very much a mortal by comparison to his evolution into god of the entire multiverse. without saying too much, its basically exactly the same as pikachu, in that the mid-evolution is the most popular and the one that shows up the most despite there being a higher status it can achieve.
As i say, i'll tell ya my opinion on where to continue with ultraman on discord, oh and merry christmas.
Actually, ultraman Noa is the true form of ultraman Nexus.
Nexus is one of darkest ultraman. It failed for sales because story was too dark for kids, but it's really good.
