    Phacolytic and phacoananaphylactic glaucoma is there any difference between the two

    • @eyecarewithdrbabita
      @eyecarewithdrbabita  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Phacolytic Glaucoma is typically seen in hypermature (morgagnian) cataracts where the lens cortex gets liquified and lens proteins seep out through an intact lens capsule to enter the anterior chamber.
      Phacoanaphylactic Glaucoma occurs due to an intense inflammatory response to patient's own lens proteins/antigens that get exposed following rupture of lens capsule due to trauma or some intraocular procedure that has led to retention of lens fragments.

    If a patient who is 41 year with history of DM __ what would be the disgnosis __ presenile cataract . Mam can write immature cataract and all in such case, because immature, mature are stages of senile Cortical cataract ,no mam

    • @eyecarewithdrbabita
      @eyecarewithdrbabita  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      - A 41 year old cataract patient with history of diabetes would have a presenile cataract
      - Immature, mature and hypermature are subtypes of Senile Cataract (not senile cortical cataract) . A presenile cataract with all its fibres opacified would be termed a 'Total Presenile cataract'
      - We call a cataract 'Senile' or 'Presenile' based on etiology (age). We call a cataract 'cortical' based on morphology. Cortical cataracts can be seen in cataracts of various etiologies (Congenital/Developmental /Senile etc). Cortical cataract seen specifically in Senile cataract is known as a cuneiform cataract.
