    This instructor was very clear and reassuring. I ordered the part, put it on while the video played, and the machine worked fine. Plus, the new latch design was a definite improvement over the original one.

      our laudry cabinet fell off the wall, right above our washer/dryer, but the only thing that broke on the washer was the hook part of the lid latch. This video helped me get it off with the small hole pin release. New part will be here tomorrow, should take 5 seconds to install.
      THANKS!!!

    Thank you for the excellent instructional video. You saved me a couple hundred dollars. My GE washer had the "LID" notification scrolling. Installing the Lid Lock kit brought it back to 100% operation. Thanks again!

      Did you figure out what the problem was? Mine us doing the same thing. I think it's in the setting...It doesn't like Super load on Speed Wash. Seem to work better on Medium or large on speed wash. Mine love to rest an hour or two between washes.....I don't think i will ever buy another GE product. I can't stand a ticky appliance.

    I am having the same "LID" error when I try to run a load. I am oretty sure my lil one broke the latch on the glass lid as everyrhing else turns on and works. Anyways, it has been a few days and I desperately need to do laundry ASAP.....either with a lid lock "over-ride" or by ordering the part!! Besides wondering if I can bypass the lid lock/switch in order to run a load or two- I am also wondering if I need the entire part that you replaced in your AMAZING video since I doubt the plug and wiring harness (or whatever it's called) actually needs replaced?? Anyway, my Model # is: GE GTW685BSL1WS. I would truly appreciate any and ALL advice you can offer so I can get this fixed quickly!!! Thank you very much for this video and for your perfect instructions on how to replace the entire mechanism!!!

    • @appliancepartspros

      There isn't anyway to be able to override the lid lock, you would have to get whole assembly. The part number you would be needing is AP6027541. Below is the link to the part so you can look at it. If you have any questions please let us know!

      @appliancepartspros  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you were able to remove the lid lock without taking anything apart. Some models maybe a little more trickery than yours and you may have to remove some parts for the appliance in order to get to the lid lock.

    I just replaced the lid lock in my GE Profile washer just like this and now it won’t even engage the lock and the display keeps flashing “lid” message. I’ve did the reset method and after entering diagnostic mode it’s showing error 23 which is for the lid lock mechanism which I just replaced. Only thing I didn’t replace was the latch itself. Thoughts???

    • @cliffvictoria3863

      Yes, the lid is strong glass. We have had our washer for 5 years with no problems with the lid glass. We did need to have a circuit board installed under warranty and I just completed this lid lock repair. Otherwise the washer has worked well.

    My lid is locked and will not unlock, what should I do?

    • @appliancepartspros
      @appliancepartspros  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You can try unplugging the unit for a few minutes to see if it will unlock that way. If there is still water left in the tub you can try hitting the spin and drain cycle to see if it will drain the water and unlock the lid. If that doesn't work you may need to remove the top so you can access the door lock and manually unlock it. We would need the model number of your unit to get the steps for you to do that.

    Hello, I’m hoping you can help me. I have the same washer that is in the video. I replaced the lid lock assembly and my washer is doing this thing where it is locks and operates as it should but then you hear the latch clicking and then the washer ends like it is finished but remains locked. It keeps doing this even though I have unplugged it and even manually unlocking it and trying another load.
    It will fill and run for about 5 minutes and randomly will start making a clicking sound where the lid lock is and again end and make the sound that the load is finished even though it’s still full of water and locked. Please help.
