I have been trying to catch a bream in the river all summer and can’t get a single one! All I ever get is bloody flathead and salmon 😂 I have no idea what I’m doing wrong but it’s getting frustrating 😂😂
If you are shore based near the Bowen Bridge use shallow jerkbaits such as the Liquid Gold or alike. The bream love a real jerky action and even consider putting some scent on the hardbody. If you have a pai of waders then lightly weighted jig heads (1/16th to 1/8th) and cast out and let them dropdown with lifts and pauses. keep an eye on the line for the twitch to indicate a bite. Keep an eye out for Part 3 where I go through the techniques I was using while I was in Tassie. drop into the Fisherman's Shed in Kingston and see Tom he can give you some handy tips as well. Tell him I sent you!
@@officialWWM then this time of year just cast shallow suspending cranks in the shallows around the Bowen Bridge on the high tides. You have to be casting within a couple of feet of the bank and just twitch and slow roll the lure out. Good luck

@@tempstackletalk thanks for the advice! I have tried some shore based but I do have a boat, so I can move around the river a bit :)
