The answer is to be Obedient as God is All-Knowing. If he says something is Haram ( harmful ) , we must follow because he knows what it will cause to us. He knows what we don't Also, it is test of Obedience. Remember when God asks all Angels and Shaytan ( made from fire but was among with the best deeds and ranks like Angels ) to prostrate ( to give respect / as obedience) to Adam, when God was delighted on his best Creation. The Quran is full of signs, and many evidence is out there, we live in a time where people openly challenge the the Creator of the Universe and everything in it, people openly mock. Allah prohibits the consumption of pork for a reason, so yes; Whether you're talking to a Muslim or non-muslim they do need to understand all the probable inducements coalesced to the prohibition. Blind faith is dangerous. I'm not saying there isn't an explanation, all I'm saying is that it's important to make a distinction between what "Allah knows best" and being informed. Muslims are encouraged to seek knowledge by their religion, this isn't contradicting God if you're a Muslim, it's ascertaining a level of understanding or enlightenment if you will that will help you in the future.

As muslims, we are allowed to and encouraged to ask questions in order to gain a deeper understanding and more knowledge. If there is a doubt we should read and study to dispel that doubt. So it cannot be slaughtered in the Islamic way. Humans are allowed to eat haram food for the sake of survival. Islamic law is flexible. For Islam, life is more valuable than the provisions of haram and halal. but don't apply it when things are not urgent and there is still other food to eat.

You can change pig halal by reciting Bismillah. I used to cook pork bacon for my muslim friends while we drink. So if you want to eat pork recite bismi and eat it.

As muslims, we are allowed to and encouraged to ask questions in order to gain a deeper understanding and more knowledge. If there is a doubt we should read and study to dispel that doubt. Of course we know Allah's reasons are sound and are the best for us, and understanding those reasons with what informations Allah has allowed us to have is profound, and asking questions to gain more knowlege of Allah and the deen is something that will increase ones faith InshaAllah.

Let me explain. Animals from the class of mammals and poultry, there are those that are Haram and those that are halal.
It is halal to eat all poultry except birds with sharp claws (predators), poultry slaughtered without the name of Allah, and poultry that died before being slaughtered (carcass).
All mammals are legally halal to eat except for mammals with fangs and sharp nails (predators. including dogs, cats, bears, etc), mammals classified as dirty pests (rats), mammals that are not slaughtered in the name of Allah, mammals that die before being slaughtered and mammals that cannot be slaughtered.
Pigs are classified as animals that cannot be slaughtered because naturally, pigs don't have necks. The requirement for legal slaughter in Islam is to cut the respiratory tract, esophagus, and blood vessels with one swing of a sharp knife. On pigs, the cutting range between the skin with the respiratory tract, esophagus, and blood vessels: (the carotid artery and the jugular vein) is too far due to the thickness of the fat. So it cannot be slaughtered in the Islamic way. That's what causes Pork Haram to be consumed. moreover, the pig is specifically mentioned in the Qur'an as Haram food.
uniquely, if humans are in a state of urgency and there is no other food to eat. Humans are allowed to eat haram food for the sake of survival. Islamic law is flexible.
For Islam, life is more valuable than the provisions of haram and halal.

When I was a kid, I used to ask my parents "why is it haram?" for certain things, they'd slap me , they thought I was doubtful or something of sorts. Everything has a reason for being halal or haram. In the case of pigs, they are considered as filthy, shameless animals, since they lie around in their waste, eat rotten food and their own waste, they'll eat basically anything actually. Another reason is that it's a shameless animal. While every other animal would react in some way to a human entering their area, by making noise, looking at them or going to them, a pig doesn't even care. It acts as if nothing even happened.
