    A plastic spur is always a good option to have - protects your pinion ant the motor's shaft from being destroyed under any questionable circumstances!
    For example, my go-to car is a slash-based clone with a questionable slipper - to put it gently.
    And some chonky wheels.
    So that slipper has to be as tight as possible not to get fried on every acceleration.
    But the plastic spur serves as that last level of protection in case some jump goes waaay out of hand.

      That's an interesting thought, though I like to have a metal spur on 1/8th scales

      @@ValRC1 Sure plastic spurs wear out faster, but it's undoubtably more convenient to swap them once in a year or so, than to buy a new motor because your shaft snapped.
      Seen some serious bashing rockets geared with a metal spur and a brass pinion for it to sheer off and protect the motor - but it's more of an oldschool design that was popular in the days of nitrous, metal chassis and open gears.
      Having such a combo in a modern model with it's gears enclosed means that the debris from the brass teeth are more than likely to reak some havoc upon plastic around them making you do more repairs than you otherwise could.
      And, also, most of the modern models have their gears enclosed precisely to limit the abrasive wear on those sweet failsafe plastic spurs.

      Ohh yeah I can do that, just a question of when I find time for it! Now that I think about it, I could even try modeling and 3d printing a spur gear with module 0.8 or 1 teeth for the TT01 - maybe it would hold up like the stock one or even better due to the stronger teeth? Might be worth trying out

      @ValRC1  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh yeah, the typhon 6s is actually based on a pretty traditional 1/8th scale buggy chassis!
