PU and a Silicone Insert- will it work??

- In this tutorial I am going to try a silicone insert in polyurethane resin.
I first dust the insert with two chameleon mica powders, then place in the mold face up. I then mix up 100ml of the Lets Resin PU and decided to add some black pigment paste to the part A-knowing it will not make it black but a grey color, then mixed the A-B and poured into the mold, waited 10 minutes and demolded. The insert came out perfect. I then top coated the piece with Lets Resin casting resin.

Silicone Insert: MADE BY ME
I think it’s lovely an the colour it turned looks lilac on screen so goes lovely with the colour of the flower x
Thank you, it does kind of look lilac, didn't notice that till now.
The purple center makes the gray look like it has a purplish hue. I think it looks great 😊
Thank you Marcy🥰🤗
Original to me! Very nice, I love the P/U resin, love putting a thin coat of clear UV sparkle resin on top of it usually.
Thank you Linda, me to, love it. And to think I was so scared to try it😂
@@resinmeup the key to P/U resin - prepare ahead of time, Voila! nothing to worry about!
I love the grey! It makes it look so rich and the gold trim is perfect! Brilliant idea to use the inly- so glad it worked. 💥👍

Ohhhh, Yes! You need to try the black mica all around the insert! Awesome idea @paulinebradford!
Defiantly, Pauline is always on the ball.
Awesome Mary❤❤
Thank you Beverly🥰🤗
It turned out so well!
Thank you Lisa.
That came out great. I tore the internet apart looking for that insert, lol I should really learn the read the small print first.
Lol, its ok. I make them myself they are a set.
They are so nice, do you sell them?
A sweet result. It makes me wonder what dusting around the insert with black mica would have resulted in...
Thanks Pauline. Thats a great question, I'm guessing the same as the insert, but not sure. Another experiment...lol
Gorgeous!!💕🌸
Thank you Kelley🥰🤗
I also wondered if it would work & it’s fantastic. Love it. ❤
Thank you Kum🥰🤗

Thank you Maddie🥰🤗
I thinkthat just looks amazing !! hope you do more!!!
Thank you Selene🥰🤗 I definitely will.
Lovely
Thank you Diane🥰🤗
This is very pretty Mary thank you I was thinking you should try to mix black last video I watched as well. I can't tell what did you put in it to color it black I guess it was the casting crap? I see particles in the bottom of the cup? Now you have to try with mica powder😉 you are way too concerned with what song so has done everybody is. In my opinion we all watch different people to get different points of view so even if it has been done before it hasn't been done before by you miss Mary🥰
Thank you Jaquelin, yes it was Castin crap🤣 I will definitely try mica next time. I only said that because I keep getting comments about how someone else has done it and I need to go watch them. I just felt like they thought I was copying them, I feel the same way, if I do something exactly like someone else then I'm going to say where I got the idea from, but I always try to keep my stuff original for that very reason. But I can always count on you to slap me back into reality🥰🤗😊❤
😃👍🏻👌🏻
Thank you Laura🥰🤗
This is beautiful!! Where is the inlay from? I am about to order some P/U resin. It will be my first time. Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you Connie. I made the inlay. Your welcome🥰🤗
Do you sell that inlay..so beautiful !
Kim I don't sell it individually, only in a set of four different flowers.
@@resinmeup how do I purchase these?
Does PU feel like plastic when it’s cured? Thinking about trying it. Yours turned out beautiful!❤❤❤
Molly it is like plastic, but much stronger and really shiny. You should, you will love it, I cant stop using it now. Plus its so quick and easy, 10 min after you pour, its ready to unmold. Use my discount code so you can save a few penny's🤗🥰
Not familiar with PU and why did it turn gray? It’s beautiful though.
PU is polyurethane resin. When it cures, it cures pure white. So when I added the black it turned gray. Hope this helps🤗🥰
