@@jddrew1000 I'm sure many do. But for latino players to come here and never even attempt to learn english, like his dad, is outrageous. You come here, you make millions of dollars in this country (er...countries, my bad TOR lol) but you cut 1/3 to half your teammates out because you can't communicate with them naturally. I'm sure many non-latin players learn some spanish, but the latino players need to at least learn enough english to communicate with friends (teammates). There are many latino major leaguers who insist on a translator and don't speak english. If you're a young teen coming to rookie ball from the international complexes in DR/PR/etc, of course, you aren't going to speak it. But if you've been a major leaguer for at least 3 years, that means that you spent AT LEAST 2 more years in the minors. If you can't speak conversational english after 5 years, it's not due to being too hard, it's due to being selfish and lazy. I have a friend that played for the Yankees and Cubs, and he said he loved all his teammates, but some he couldn't ever feel close to or have any comradery as they couldn't talk to each other. Like c'mon. Make an effort. Just like if an American played winter ball down there, or went to japan/korea to play, learn their language! make an attempt!
