That said, I have my reasons why I don't want AI integration in every aspect of my computer's function. If I feel the need to utilize AI tools, I prefer to control when I access them. I reserve the right to upgrade to an AI accessorized PC in the future, but for now, I prefer not to have that feature on my PC.

Windows makes the operating system why wouldn’t their surface device be top tier, just like Apple makes their iPhone why wouldn’t that run well, and android/ Google makes the pixel. AI functions need to be separate from Windows. User can choose when to use via the web. Don’t force users to use AI all the time, that is not what all users want. Forcing AI onto PCs will likely build resistance and resentment among the user base. Linux and IOS users will no doubt be watching to see the results of Microsoft’s’ big ( brother ) plan.

😀 Intel's latest 14th Gen has offline NPU chip..maybe you didnt know about it. No need of online AI.. Intel NPU has awesome privacy features. Already in production. Look at latest Asus Zenbook for laptops.
If you want excellent compatibility and performance with all existing Windows software you should buy x86/x64 because that's what it's natively compiled for, meaning an Intel or AMD CPU.

Same as always, will everything run on it or not. If games won’t run, or business applications, then people and companies won’t buy it. They’d need full compatibility or the market will just choose the safe one. Of course Office and other major applications will be made to run, but people like their programs to just work and if they upgrade and it won’t open, the system will go right back to the store. No one thinks about the OS features, they want the OS to basically be invisible.
I do not want AI anywhere anytime. It’s lazy and ignorant. If there’s one technology we have been REPEATEDLY warned about, it’s AI. Nothing good can come from it. So I do not want my electronics to have it in any way.

1st they made everyone with 1 gen older pc's to stay with W10 and now they want to incorporate something new to make the W11 pc's obsolete. I think they are slowly digging their own grave. The small amount of locally run apps are so small that soon a Linux or android thin client will be more than sufficient for most use cases. Microsoft's super fat client has no place in our connected world. It's kind of mad that you have to buy a brand new hardware platform for every release and for what? To run a browser and maybe an office suite and in many cases, that suite is also cloud based.
Time to fully turn to Linux. Microsoft tries to dictate what hardware will chose and that's a no. As for AI this is my business nor Microsoft. Can they make an OS customizable to my needs? If not bye bye.

AMD 7840u and 7640u already have NPUs. Maybe a couple more, the 2024 generation has them as well

Well I don't use Windows (Linux or Chrome OS) for me, but I also don't use Intel processors purposefully.
PC now use 64bit inst. not 32 bit, x86 adress only 3.2 GB Ram, all new CPU use AMD x64 not Intel IA64.
