- Trainspotting clips of Express and Local trains at Harlington, Midland Mainline. 🏴
A hot weekday of Midland Mainline services at Harlington, heading around the South of the United Kingdom. Trains include:
- East Midlands Railway Class 222s and Class 43 (HSTs) (Including both VP185 and MTU Ex-LNER)
- Thameslink Class 700s
- GBRF Class 66.
Filmed on 2nd June 2020, Between 11.15 and 13.00.

All videoing was taken whilst remaining within the UK Government guidelines of staying 2m from other people. I traveled to this location via automobile and did not travel via public transport.

🚄 INFORMATION KEY
Train Numbers - e.g. 43032 or 800110 - These are train numbers which are specific to that train. No trains can be numbered the same. Locos are 5 digit numbers where the first two numbers are the class of train e.g. 67010 would be a class 67. Multiple Units are 6 digit numbers where the first three numbers are the class of train e.g. 390154 would be a class 390. Click Here to learn more

Set Number - e.g. WB64 or NL04 - These are semi-permanent loco hauled coach formations which are kept together for formalities. The first two letters usually indicate the maintenance depot responsible e.g. OC is Old Oak Common, LA is Laira. The number indicates the rake number.

Amazing video. Find out odd seeing former LNER HST's now working for East Midlands Railway. Can't think of any other train operator that has a mixed HST variety with:

I see FJ! Your a man of many TH-cam channels, not to worry. I’ve had a look at your other channel and I can tell your a big fan of the South West! It looks like your using a phone camera (that’s how I started too!) but I recommend getting a second hand digital camcorder at some point to make use of the zoom instead of a distorted phone zoom.
StarlifeStudios Rail Videos aha indeed i do have many channels (well 2) and yes i use my s10. i dont have a job because of covid but i hope to get a good camera to use and i wouldnt say a fan of south west trains, but as i live around the Surrey/Hamphsire area its easy to get to those stages and also easy to get to the GWR trains aswell. Im hoping to do Chiltern Service and LNER Service but im not sure yet. Only passed my driving test a week ago friday. :)

Hi EJC, thanks for your kind words! I never thought I’d see the day that an LNER HST is back on the mainline in 2020!
Im going to show my age now, but 43320 (was 43120) and 43316 (was 43116 "City of Kingston Upon Hull") have been either East Coast and/or Midland Mainline all their working lives. Back in the 1980's and into the 1990's (Before the ECML was fully electrified in 1991) it was not unusual for these 2 power cars and other BN, NL and EC power cars to be on the Midland Mainline one day and on the East Coast mainline the next and vice versa. What ever HST's ended up at Bounds Green (BN) overnight for serving were shared out between Kings Cross & St Pancras the next day for ECML and MML duties..the good ole days when the HST was king 😊👍🏽 Under BR, The Eastern Region HST's covered both these lines. Occasionally too, an ER HST was booked to work Cross Country services too. One such working was an ECS Derby to New Street. Then 07:35 Birmingham-Manchester, then 09:56 Manchester-Exeter then an afternoon Exeter-Newcastle..back in 1987 😦😆👍🏽

StarlifeStudios Rail Videos sadly not a driver, but a well travelled enthusiast 😆👍🏽I'm old enough to remember the HST's being introduced in October 1976 between Paddington - Bristol and Swansea and they shaved 1 hour off the journey between Swansea and London. I was 5 years old and to see these brand new trains rushing past my home on the South Wales mainline got me interested in Railways. Its very sad to see them decline as they ultimately saved more Inter-City routes from being axed totally in the late 1970's due to their quick journey times and brand new styling inside. They were extremely popular with passengers. Thankfully, some will live on with EMT and XC (43366 was 43166, 43378, was 43178 and 43384 was 43184) now with XC were originally built between 1981-82 for XC Cross-Country services and allocated to Plymouth Laira. 43163-43198 were built for XC. In 1983, the Eastern Region pinched 43193-198 for ECML and MML duties, but these too ended back with XC from 1993 right up until the time Virgin replaced them with Voyagers in 2002. They then went to GWR where some remain today on the Castle Sets (43194 and 43198 spring to mind there) 😊👍🏽

What Happened to then New EMR liveries I'm not seeing them much
Hi N1TH Music, the HST withdrawal and replacement is severely behind schedule due to the condition of the incoming Ex-LNER Mk3s. I would say it’s fairly unlikely any of the HSTs will get the new livery and the 222 fleet are being stretched to keep the carry capacity high.
While on the MML I suggest bedford, that has the d trains
Those D-Trains are fancy! I can't wait to go to wales and see the TfW variants. I've been to Bedford before although I got a fairly poor selection of clips in comparison to what I could have got.

Stafford is one I’ve heard a few times but it’s difficult to gain access (without a ticket) and maintain a social distance. It’s on my list as one of my first ones to do as soon as this virus stuff is over.
