@John Jacob Jingle Heimer Schmitt That is true! But it's not the most important. Water vapor can't really build up in the atmosphere, because too much results in rain. So it's impact on temperature will remain relatively unchanged barring extreme circumstances. This isn't the case with CO2 though, which can build up in the atmosphere, due to it's long atmospheric residence of 20 years on the extreme low end and 200 years on the extreme high end (averages are much closer to 30-100 years). Another key detail is that Water Vapor and CO2 (and pretty much most greenhouse gasses) don't cover the same wavelength of radiation. An extremely simple analogy would be... think of it like a metal vent, water vapor being the metal vent. It doesn't block everything so other greenhouse gasses are things that get in the way preventing air (radiation) from going through. The less of those other gasses their are the less radiation that gets absorbed and remitted into the atmosphere.

@John Jacob Jingle Heimer Schmitt That is true! But it's not the most important. Water vapor can't really build up in the atmosphere, because too much results in rain. So it's impact on temperature will remain relatively unchanged barring extreme circumstances.
This isn't the case with CO2 though, which can build up in the atmosphere, due to it's long atmospheric residence of 20 years on the extreme low end and 200 years on the extreme high end (averages are much closer to 30-100 years).
Another key detail is that Water Vapor and CO2 (and pretty much most greenhouse gasses) don't cover the same wavelength of radiation. An extremely simple analogy would be... think of it like a metal vent, water vapor being the metal vent. It doesn't block everything so other greenhouse gasses are things that get in the way preventing air (radiation) from going through. The less of those other gasses their are the less radiation that gets absorbed and remitted into the atmosphere.

I actually disagree with the one about journals being hard to read. Making information more acessible is ALWAYS better for the world. The more people can actually read from trusted sources, smaller are the chances they are going to be ill-advised by fake news.
Uhm nooo science journals should be complicated as it tells us exactly how something work down to atom level. Then other scientists can dumb down the stuff until us ‘’normal’’ people understand it. Its written to be hard so its as accurate as possible with reality
Give us 4 versions.
1 for reality being explained in an unnecessarily complicated way.
2 for the scientists
3 for high schoolers
4 for middle schoolers and younger audiences.
why do so many use the "hes an engineer, not a scientist" cop out reply to their anti-science opinions? just because the guy majored in mechanical engineering means that is all he can be and the only topic on which he can expand upon? he couldnt expand his horizons for the rest of his years among the science community? so if youre a biochemistry major and after you achieved your degree you thought "hmm..im also really into sports medicine, maybe ill look into that too" and you gain a vast knowledge of sports medicine and you go on to give lectures on the importance of stretching, the dangers of head injuries and the like, youre a fraud because your major was in a different field even though you do know what youre talking about when it comes to sports medicine?

Perhaps he never experience ocean. In the past, when travel was difficult and dangerous, some people rarely leave their hometown. Nowadays, some people might never leave their hometown because everything they required is within their hometown or could be acquired within their immediate area. Perhaps he lived in a land-locked state/province/country and never experience ocean and water pressure.
He probably doesn't believe in gravity either. Maybe he thinks God had places molecules. Who knows? At least he is thinking. That might eventually lead to more sensible conclusions.
