The Scream was real and in an interwiev sad mike it was her first scream too. and it was 16 sec and chasters real scream was 17 i think she honor that and dont brake it as respect. but think she can do that. Emely is a beast she has 20 years his own band named Dead Sara and she is wild and life for Live perfomens. that love she most.

Chester's scream was 17 seconds. Emily's scream was officially confirmed to be 16'ish seconds by Mike, and it was intentionally made just a little shorter as a sign of respect for Chester. Mike confirmed this in a recent interview. Additionally, the long scream was Emily's first take. Although they recorded it a few more times, they ultimately chose the first scream. EDIT: Also, on live performances, Emily has done the scream multiple times now, and they always perform this song second to last or third to last. I think her longest scream was 14-15 seconds live. It would be nice to see her do it earlier in the concert at some point.
And about the comments i read somewhere like "oh she doesnt do 15 seconds, she only does 13 seconds live!" wtf is wrong with you? Did anyone of these guys watch Chester live Given up? He ALWAYS (except of 1 or 2 times) did a break so it was about 2 times 8 seconds or something AND NOBODY CARED because IT IS OK!! It still is great! And they all are human and need to breathe on stage! I love the live version of Heavy is the crown even more! 🙂
Scream was definitely real, I just saw them in Dallas 3 weeks ago and she nailed it! She did about 15 seconds on it, but still. Very impressive live! And mind you she was hoping and screaming through the entire performance, dope song!
@@celianamaria1885 oh hell yeah. I wasn't saying it was worse for being shorter live. It's a necessary evil when you're performing live for that length of time and with that body of work. Chester did the same thing. He had to save his energy for the end of the set. It's why they strategically place the biggest section of ballads mid set. That and performance pacing, of course

I remember reading that Chester's was about 30 seconds but they cut it down for the album, hopefully we get 21 Stitches if they continue the 20th anniversary releases.
Funny you mention how short most of the songs are. Ive noticed most bands from Greenday to Sum41 there new songs are also fairly short.i think its either age related not able to make long music anymore

note mike said in a recent interview she had done it longer than in the studio one but they chose the shorter the 16 sec to honour Chester.
He said that both, Emily and Chester, could go even longer 😉
