If the economic elite & government is willing to kill hundreds of thousands of people overseas… then they are not above killing hundreds of thousands of their own citizens, if their own self interests demand it.
If they are willing to kill them, then they willing to kill you…

"In January 1961, six months after independence, Lumumba was murdered in Katanga. On February 13, officials in Katanga announced his death, but with a story so fishy that almost no one believed it. Furious protests took place around the world. In a blistering denunciation the Soviet Union blamed the imperial powers and asked that the United Nations leave the Congo. The Soviets demanded the resignation of the Swedish secretary-general of the UN, Dag Hammarskjöld, whom they saw as the chief henchman of the colonialists. Predictably, people marched in Moscow, but the largest crowd, of over one hundred thousand, assembled in Beijing, China. Perhaps predictably too, demonstrators grabbed headlines in Africa and Asia: Casablanca in Morocco; Khartoum in Sudan; Accra in Ghana; Bombay and New Delhi in India; Karachi in Pakistan; and Colombo in Sri Lanka."

I want to salute you three young, blokes. Viewing videos about class in England brings to mind the major problems we're having in this "country" empire. I dare say that the greatest members of our population have no Earthly idea about what class is.
I believe for them class is defined in this sort of way based on the kind of clothes you wear and the car you drive. If you have no car, well, you have no class. That kind of thing.
Knowing you fellows are going to be around for quite a while, lets me know, being my age, that understanding the fundamentals about reality may very well be preserved. Salute!

I love this series, as an Australian, an Indigenous continent colonized by the Brits, slowly taken over by the US, sometimes referred to as the 51 state of the US of A, it is curious to me, the tenor of your discussion, as if this hegemony 'should not be so.' It is so import that the crimes of 'our' corporations and state institutions are documented and very slowly learned from... not in my lifetime!
We are a long way from co-operative internationalism, which will still have conflict and corruption but I think there will be fewer deaths and a cooler globe through US empire than, Russian Empire, Chinese Empire or Iranian Theocracy. As impotent, as the opposition to the hegemony in the Western aligned powers is, it is more alive than in the other Empires above.
All empires say they are one thing: Democratic, Just and Peaceful but are frequently the opposite.
The world got wealthier going off the gold standard, the US the most, but the step away from constructing value from a commodity like gold means we are a step closer to constructing value upon things that really matter, like saving the environment, bringing up children with sufficient love and resources, enhancing human capacity... It has to start somewhere.
I'm glad you can discuss and educate us in this criminal history of US power but let us not pretend, that there exist a better group of humans who would not make similar tragedies as us Westerners are making.

28:00 this is a very incomplete recitation of history. FDR wanted to fight in ww2 to save the British and French Empires so the United States could take them over. So when Japan was GIVEN basing rights to the colony of Inodchina by Vichy France FDR freaked out because that was going to be his colony and so he embargoed Japan from the entire world market of everything. Japan didn't attack indochina. Eventually they would fight the Vietnamese freedom fighters who the USA would start to arm. Cordell Hull, FDR's right hand man and an inveterate racist who constantly said the japanese were congenitally incapable of honesty, refused to even negotiate with Japan until the withdrew from all of Asia. Everything. Then they would be willing to set up a meeting with Hirohito and FDR. If you knew anything about Japan at the point the political government was one of the least aggressive part of the society. If Hirohito withdrew from Asia the young officer corps would have overthrown and killed him. So as Hull and FDR knew they would force Japan had to attack the dutch east indies and in order to be safe from American intervention they would also attack the philipines. Hull and FDR deliberately put the Japanese govt in a position where they either would be mudreed by their own amry or where they would fight the americans. Totally intentional. it was the plan. The Japanese couldn't wait and keep trying to negotiate because they only had 6 months of oil left when FDR cut them off (every European nation followed FDR in the embargo, so every oil colony across the world was now unavailable to the Japanese).

The first assertion is all over the place. It’s always hard to prove intent. Can you elaborate on your theory regarding FDR’s intent? Taking advantage of unfolding events is basic bread-and-butter geopolitics. If FDR was interested in reforming the colonial system then it made sense to tackle the colonies of old Europe. Roping in your political enemies to do your work is a well understood strategy. To me it looks like the domestic colonial interests managed to neutralise FDR.

@@posmoo9790 I fail to see a nefarious intent from FDR’s side. Churchill was an irredentist who wanted to claw back the Glorious Empire. @@elmersbalm5219 FDR wanted to control the british and french colonies the way they are controlled now. financially, bringing their leaders to be taught in america, making them into liberal parasites like themselves with no allegiance to anyone but their fellow rich people so they would then sell out their own countries, they resources, so they would sacrifice their own people in the their lust for wealth. you don't think it's nefarious when two countries set out a plan to control the entire world, because they said they'd only do sweet things with the power? lmao. what were they gonna say? yes we intend to rape your resources and people in a more opaque way.

The people at the top operate as a group/thinktank and are currently utilizing a playbook written by Zbigniew Brzezinski in the 80s and during the Clinton administration, including the chemtrail program. So, to understand the chemtrail program you have to think like a thinktank, which only implements programs that have many arms, like a spider web. For instance, the chemtrail program accomplishes the following: it affects weather in western states including California, Oregon and Idaho to cause wildfires, it makes a lot of money for the makers of the chemicals being sprayed (Monsanto and Bayer), and it works beautifully to frighten people to the point that they are too afraid to ask what is going on with our skies being sprayed to look like tic-tac-toe games. The wildfires drive enourmous profits because the people in the know who are behind the chemtrail program can hedge the stock market on commodities such as lumber to rebuild fire-ravaged areas. In other words the wildfires are being used to make billions upon billions in stock market profits in the same manner as inside information.
