- Hiii, I've been working on that remix for a while and didn't knew how to finish it...so here you go I finally got able to :)

It's literally so weird how Seam is the only person who ever mentions Jevil, even though he seems to have a super engaging backstory and role in the Card Kingdom... So this hits right in the feels. Nobody likes being forgotten.

In Chapter 2 the Addisons preferred not to talk about Spamton until after you had beaten him. It's possible that schizobosses are always purposefully shunned and forgotten about in Dark Worlds, as if just discussing their existence could cause some sort of psychological harm to Darkners. Spamton and Tasque Manager referring to Jevil might be a personal liberty taken because of the realization that he has been beaten, though I guess Spamton still talks about him if you have never even met Jevil.
That was indeed sad and beautiful. Though I find it interesting how, nonetheless, the Don't Forget motif still manages to lend a slight air of feint hope.
Some of the style of this remix also reminded me of the OST of Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye, which I consider a legendary soundtrack.

I always thought it was denial
I think Jevil is just genuinely deluded.
Freedom is awareness. Acceptance is knowing you're still trapped. A careless attitude is likely to follow, and cursed knowledge such as this can drive insanity.
I believe Jevil had a role to play in all this, just like everyone else in the kingdom, and that was to be the court jester all or most of his life. Until one day he seemed to wake up and something drastic changed. The game is not above being self-aware. Even Asriel after the end credits of True Pacifist, tells you to let the others go and live their life (which I presume to be not to RESET). But now with awareness, and the power of CHAOS, he's free to be whatever, for he sees things how they really are...

Jevil is an actually very tragic character. He was just the local court jester, pulling pranks on people but never in malice. And then he went insane, knowing the in’s and outs of the world he lived in and they locked him up for it, even locked away by his only true friend that played with him. I would give him a comfort hug, but the devilsknife and his complete lack of sanity says otherwise
@TartyRolls There's a little bit more than that. Thanks to the fact that Spamton yells at you if you try to claim his weapon or armor while having too many items on hand, and the fact that Jevil proclaims he's going to "sleep for the next hundred years" means he's still with the heroes in the form of the Devilsknife or Devilstail. How conscious he is we don't know, but he is there. So his story continues...
You definitely made it 'sad' or at least depressing undertone with those fabulous minor chords. I would even say with the low flute/bassoon that it has the aesthetic, at times, of the Undertale track where MTT is in the princess suit and is reading out that hero narrative. Genuinely feels like you hit inspiration from that. The slow woodwinds also give it that traditional Japanese aesthetic. Rather melancholy or at least contemplative and isolationist like the vast expanse of land or journey you associate the lone woodwind with.
I like to think in this narrative, he is not enjoying his 'freedom'. The occasional bass drum > 5:00 is him knocking on the cell door, hoping someone will find him important. Hoping to be set free.
Very artistic of you to flip the sensation of a character's theme on its head.

It was indeed this whole idea of turning Jevil thoughts into a whole 360 and that instead of being happy of being "free" and knowing the truth like it seems to be in the game, he suffers from the pain of truly being alone and knowing his existence isn't worth that much at the end of the day yk? Imagine on a random day, someone comes and tell you the whole world you know is only a fictional game where your choices don't matter...If I was Jevil, I would definitely not be well. I guess in the game he took it in the way of being "free" which is a rather happy reaction but who knows...being locked in a cage all alone for so many years must be tough. So that's basically from where I took the idea of arranging in theme in something more "depressing". I'm so grateful you took the time to write a meaningful analysis like this, that means so much thank you so so much 🥺

If this world truly is beyond our control, shouldn't we just be happy that someone is enjoying the world that's miserable for us? You've heard the guards. The fellow darkners. After the Spade King locked up the others the other day, the kingdom hasn't been the same.

Seam: Our life is miserable Jevil. We should just be happy that someone is enjoying it more than we are. And if our actions are predetermined, and we truly aren't friends. Just... Code that is built to build a fake bond. Then so be it. I know regardless of not truly being friends, you were a great chess partner. And those memories whether forced or not, made me a happier person.
Jevil: Seam... None of us are important. I'm not... Important. I'm coded to be looked down on. Forgotten. To the hands of you. That's my story. To get locked up until the light sets me free. Until the light seals the darkness. Then what Seam? We're just gonna be cast aside. Our lives will ultimately mean nothing.
Seam: That may be true. All of what you're saying may be true. But the man who told you all of this could be wrong. I'm not asking you to change your perspective. I'd be more at ease with you believing you are the one truly set free as that would make me feel less guilt for what I've been tasked to do. But try to believe, ok? Something good could happen. Something good could not happen. We truly don't know. Don't forget this. Don't forget that you are important. Game or not, I know what you mean to me, what you meant to everyone before you completely changed. I really have to leave now. Goodbye, Jevil. I will miss our games together.

@Koxbalon Well there is evidence that suggests both Jevil and Spamton were informed from the same person that they aren't truly free, or that they don't have total control of their lives. They just take different approaches. Jevil decides to believe he can already do anything and everything. Almost as if he's in denial. While Spamton does the opposite. He tries to do everything he can to be able to do anything and everything. If this figure is able to access the different worlds, I am almost certain they are aware they are in a game. Since they aren't a play thing. Not to mention they are most likely the same person in the build your vessel sequence. The speaker in that sequence seems highly intelligent and smart with their wording. Which is perfect for someone who managed to convince 2 separate people the same thing. They need to be smart with their words. And in order for this figure to tell you your choices don't matter in this game, that means they know more about the world than most. It makes sense that they would inform them that the world is a game. In fact, they could've even told them that they were a game IN a game. Which would further make them feel out of control. There isn't clear evidence, but that is what I would like to believe

@@Aiden-wd5nf I wouldn't say Jevil is in denial, I would prefer to think he's actually accepted his lack of freedom. With that lack of of freedom it granted him a sort of new eternal freedom. If everything truly doesn't matter then he can do anything without any consequences. No restraint of society or morality or anything else in between. That's why he seems content in his position and actually revels in it. A stark contrast to Spamton who seems to hate Jevil for that philosophical ideology, thinking it's absolutely absurd for anyone to freely accept such a fate.
In summary Jevil's philosophical views is if everything doesn't matter then he can do anything.
While Spamton views are if everything doesn't matter he can't be anyone he can't do anything he needs this freedom.
He can do anything, yes, but he can't force people to do anything, so being very different and "insane" he has been locked away in the deepest pit of the card castle.

He wasn't imprisoned for anything crazy. He just tried to warn people of what he has seen, what he learned of the future from this dark entity. He was a good man. This imprisonment is what made him go insane

this is pretty good! really brings out the reality of knowing that Jevil is trapped, even though Jevil tries hard to think he's "free." he knows that nobody will ever truly care about what he does - they're just programmed to seem like they do, and Jevil is just programmed to act the way he does.
the original soundtrack shows a carefree, chaotic, and perhaps even optimistic way of viewing the world as nothing more than a game. it shows the idea that, "since this is a game, i can do whatever the fuck i want!" this one shows a much more pessimistic view, like, "since this is just a game, nobody will ever really care about me, so there's not much point in doing anything." kinda like Sans, except Sans is only aware of the ability to reset (as far as we know, anyway - he's pretty fuckin mysterious so we can't exactly know for sure) whilst Jevil is actually aware that he's in a game. great job.

I'd imagine another future secret boss would be mega depressed about knowing the trough that nothing matters and it's all just some game.
Spampton earns for freedom, Jevil embraces the madness and choses to put his own hapyness first , it's possible and even likely the other Darkners that KNOW took it a different way.
Ralsey is VERY likely to be one of the people that knows the truth and has desided that aiding the Lightners is the only way for him to feel fulfillment.

AMAZING REMIX! it sounds so so lovely.. i really love this. Especially with the theme of being forgotten that Deltarune is going for.
The real world themes: Jevil is the joker card, a card that is always thrown away and rarely has any use in card games. and Spamton is well. spam mail. a universally discarded thing.
The in game themes: Jevil was fired and thrown into the dungeon. never to be seen again and forgotten by the kingdom. Spamton lost all of his fame, got evicted, lost all his friends. and now lives in a dumpster, never to be seen again.
And makes you wonder what this says about Kris. maybe Kris is afraid The Player or whatever force is controlling them, will eventually fully take over. and let the real Kris be forever forgotten, forever trapped in their dungeon, their dumpster.

Given the fact that you aren’t allowed to venture into the chapter one dark world during chapter two and you just remembered that Jevil was a thing, and not able to get him before the old dark world’s collapse, really is kinda upsetting to me, knowing that his last moments before the collapse were behind bars, he really did nothing wrong… and its even more upsetting because I am a true pacifist player, this song brought back my genuine regret of not grabbing Jevil during chapter one.

I really really love the way this sounds. It brings a sort of sadness that can't quite be explained or fathomed. It may be called "The World Revolving," but it definitely tells the story of the day the world finally stopped
