Genuinely one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I’m speechless fr. Who goes from house to country? She can do anything. And she does it so damn well.
Let’s not act like she’s the first black country artist now. Let’s put some respect on Darius Ruckus and Mickey Guyton (who iconically sung her song Black Like Me at the CMT awards for George Floyd during the pandemic) and so many more.
Her vocals aren't country at all. She would have had to scale back much more and kept the melody simpler to really convey country. But we'll see how it goes...
This is what I've been wanting from her.. her last 4 albums has been very personal for her and she is finally connecting (for me anyway) like this song made me wipe a tear.
At fifteen, the innocence was gone astray Had to take care of home at an early age I saw Mama cryin', I saw Daddy lyin' Had to sacrifice and leave my fears behind THIS BRIDGE SPOKE TO ME 😭😭😭😭 NOW IM CRYING ON COUNTRY MUSIC
@@JacquelineausdemPottin the beginning she said daddy grind because her father was her manager in the early stages of her career, the last verse she says something about crying i think because her dad stole money from her and she had to fire him plus he cheated on their mom. Not a Beyoncé Stan but that's what I think
@@offjoe22 yesss, I think that’s it too. In the beginning her dad was her manager-although he had managed acts before, he needed to get an act to sustain his family. “I saw Mama prayin’ and daddy grindin’..” They got what they wanted with Destiny’s Child-number one records and hit albums. Then even more when Beyoncé went solo. So she worked hard and sacrificed A LOT of her life for her music and to take care of her family, essentially. When Beyoncé got paid-so did her family. “I saw Mama cryin’ and I saw Daddy Lyin’…” And while she was working, performing, making music-she missed out on being with her family while slowly watching her family fall apart. You gotta keep in mind, Beyoncé and her Dad was on the road together, so I’m sure she saw him doing things that she shouldn’t have saw while simultaneously watching her mama cry from being hurt from it all….
I love how she can dominate any music genre. One of the only artists that are this versatile with their art. She truly is such a icon and forever will be one.
This sounds like a young Bey 😊, like a page out of her notebook from years ago. I'm glad she was able to bring it to life and share it with us. A few quiet moments with her.. it's nice 😊
You can just see her writing this on tour. 16 Busses filled with her bamd and members of the tour. Helping carry her dream. A true country song. Hope, love, loss, sacrifice all woven beautifully.
I’m not a Beyoncé Stan but for those who don’t get it, being a Renaissance person is about being cultured. She has so many genres under her belt. Part 1 simply added house music + now Part 2 is adding country. Love that she is adding another black face + story to the country genre while representing where she was raised. This is a brave move
Part 1 is Renaissance. Part 2 is something different… otherwise she would have titled it Renaissance Part 1 and not Part 1 Renaissance. Maybe this is a preview of what she has next in store. A part of me doubts she would ever produce a whole country album but at the same time Bey never fails to surprise me.
“Gotta chose myself, underpaid & overwhelmed” That lyric part hit home so hard, I resonate with those words so much. I’ll chose myself because I am underpaid & overwhelmed. ~a fellow Virgo~ 🤍

As a white male country fan (1900s-1990s country only, after 2000 it became terrible)… this is one of the first GOOD, real, down-to-earth Country Music songs I’ve heard in 20+ years. This feels like a true renaissance of REAL country music and what it should REALLY be about.
@@Tojoj22 This is true, I hope it doesn't just become another culture war thing though, I want everyone to feel welcomed to listen to this music, but I also think it's important to make sure there's some dignity to the reality that black people have felt alienated from a genre we had such an impact on, I feel the same way about Rock, I hope instead of just making it some ego war between the races that white people can see the significance of such a big black artist releasing Country music, but also feel like they are able to enjoy it as well. It feels like everything becomes super toxic nowadays when what we really want are artists to give us good art---that's all.
Yesss And while there is good country now days (Chris Stapleton, Zach Bryan, Kacey Musgraves) you won’t hear it on the radio/wont be as popular as the mid country stuff Nice to see Queen Bey doing country! The palpable emotional vulnerability in this song - the instruments, her voice, how it builds up and winds down - hits me HARD every time. How is this not #1 but Texas Hold Em is???
The same reason that “Otherside” on Black is King barely gets listened to in comparison to her other songs. People are afraid to feel their darker emotions, the ones which remind them of the limitations of their existence. This one is so raw and vulnerable, it brings the listener face-to-face with the ups and downs of life and making meaning of one’s life. But those who are willing to go there emotionally are highly rewarded. ❤
This song has been on repeat since it was released. I cannot explain how perfect it is. I literally have no words to describe it, just know it’s moving me to my core.
This woman never misses a shot. It's overwhelming how good she is at this point. I literally cried listening to this. I don't know why I cried but I cried.. 😩

@@offjoe22when did he steal money from her? 🤔
God bless You
@@offjoe22 yesss, I think that’s it too.
In the beginning her dad was her manager-although he had managed acts before, he needed to get an act to sustain his family.
“I saw Mama prayin’ and daddy grindin’..”
They got what they wanted with Destiny’s Child-number one records and hit albums.
Then even more when Beyoncé went solo.
So she worked hard and sacrificed A LOT of her life for her music and to take care of her family, essentially. When Beyoncé got paid-so did her family.
“I saw Mama cryin’ and I saw Daddy Lyin’…”
And while she was working, performing, making music-she missed out on being with her family while slowly watching her family fall apart.
You gotta keep in mind, Beyoncé and her Dad was on the road together, so I’m sure she saw him doing things that she shouldn’t have saw while simultaneously watching her mama cry from being hurt from it all….
